Put some bluetack on the end you pull out, under the curved bit just a small but and it holds it in.

No need to open it up, or put anything down the hole.

Do a search and you'll come up with a couple more solutions that don't require u to open the device.

I got mine replaced with a very good condition refurbed XDA mini-s and box. I now have 4 stylus' and 2 USB cables :) Only took 5 days
