As you all know, the Treo 750v does not come with Pocket MSN, but it is sometime nice to be able to chat on MSN Messenger while on the road. Does anyone know how one goes about reinstalling Pocket MSN onto a device? I have other WM5 devices (Tytn), is it possible to extract the program into a cab to install?

It should be. It can most likely be extracted from the 750 Cingular rom update and cab'd up.

man, better use agile messenger for wm5 - last beta is free and it is so much better than the old msn messenger:
- use smileys
- send camera pictures directly
- keep history of chats (just like on pc)
- use not only msn but also icq, aol, yahoo, google im
here's the download: http://updates.am-im.net/AgileMessengerWMPPC.zip - it's the cab file in the zip, so copy it over to your device and run it there. hint: make the cab file write protected on your desktop (right click on the cab), then copy it over to your mobile's storage card and install it. it won't be deleted then and you can always reinstall it when you need it again.
cheers, lutz

Does that use WIFI or sms to send messages?

it uses wife to connect, if wifi is available and enabled. sms is never used to send messages, if there is no wifi it uses gprs/3g connection.
i would not use the windows live client - it's a big monster...

Excellent, thats just what I'm looking for. Seems like I'd have to pay for it though, not a good sign. Is there anyway I can get this program for free?

Sorry, I wasn't clear on what I said.
I already have Pocket MSN on my MDA, but I'd like to use Agile messenger since it can be used over WIFI too. My question is, is there a way to get Agile for free? I know its a long shot.
One more thing, can Agile be used over GPRS?

I get an error message when trying with GPRS saying:
All connections failed, switch to contactlist?
I'm not sure why this is. sucks

Maybe it works on a Treo 750 but not on your PPC?
Or do you also have a Treo?
Check the site; http://www.agilemobile.com/agile_messenger.html
To me it sounds like e settingproblem because it even works on my SPV550, my Qtek S100 and on a Qtek 2020 without any problems
Good luck!

I don't have a Treo, but a PPC (MDA). I haven't managed to get it to work with GPRS(EDGE), but thanks for your help anyway.
EDIT: I have managed to get it to work on GPRS SOMEHOW. I haven't done anything and it just started working. This is great, I can be on MSN/Yahoo/Google messengers from anywhere! Thanks!

thanks of rthe post of the file, even though its a beta version, I think is really good. I have the SPV M3100. It works really well. When it comes of beta will they make us pay for full version?

I had the WindowsLive.PPC2005_Arm working for about 3-4 months and all of a sudden it stopped working few days ago. I tried to reinstall the app but the installation quits on me.
Anyone else is experiencing issues with it.
I have not install any new apps recently.

I found out that Windows Live is included in WIN Mobile 6.0 but that OS doesn't come out for few months.
At this point I am accessing my hotmail through IE (http://mobile.live.com (http://mobile.live.com/)) but that sucks.
