I just read on a dutch site www.smartphonestunts.nl that HTC P3300 (Artemis) is due mid November. To my horror It says this:

"Let op: De HTC P3300 wordt standaard geleverd inclusief TomTom Navigator 6 software. Dit betreft alleen een licentie op de software zelf dus er wordt geen kaartmateriaal meegeleverd. De kaarten van de Benelux of van Europa dient u zelf aan te schaffen om gebruik te kunnen maken van de TomTom software op de P3300."

Roughly translated is means that the Device has the license included for Tom Tom 6 software but no Maps. In order to use the Navigation software you need to purchase the Maps separately. W.T.F?

What is the point including the TT6 because if you buy maps you might as well buy the whole package the price is the same incl the software. I mean the software is even free just go and get it the licensing is for the Maps.

Anyhow I always said the HTC people rip us off.

I myself especially bought the Vario II (also because of it's colour) because they put a 1 GB Micro SD card inside. And since I am on the T-MObile network I do not care that it is SIM locked. Besides sooner ol later the gurus here are going to figure it out.

This is not exactly correct. With P3300 you can go TASTER EDITION or FULL EDITION. different price though.

What you are reffering to is applies for taster edition. it comes with TomTOM 6 preinstalled but no map loaded. on the very first launch TomTom will ask you if you wold like to download map free of charge. You can download map of one of the major cities in Western europe, Eastern Europe, USA and Canada. Not all of them are avaialble of course. only major ones.

I hope it helps.

Well the site does not offer any other version!
