I have been trying to add a self signed cert, and I keep getting the error that the phone is locked. The cert worked fine on my wizard. I cant figure out what the problem is, can you help me out.

it's pretty simple:
1. download the program file called VZW_SpAddCert.exe from Microsoft. It is designed to work with smartphones made by Verizon Wireless but I have discovered that it works with most all 2003 and WM5 smartphones.
2. copy the program and your .cer file to the root of the smartphone.
3. go to File Explorer on the device and run the VZW_SpAddCert.exe application. It may ask for your permission to run, click YES. It may come back and say no certificate files found. The application will exit. Next, still in file explorer, click on your .cer file and it will ask if you want to install the certificate, click YES. Done!
Link to download VZW_SpAddCert.exe: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=5D7E27EE-4654-480C-876D-442AED8F47AE&displaylang=en

I'm waiting for an explanation 'cause nothing I've done on my dash has ever told me that I needed a signed certificate for it to work.

ya i think it depends on your S62X, my Microsoft labled HTC S621 isnt locked like my old S621 from rogers, everything was locked needed mad app hack installs, this S621 that was won from a Microsoft conference is golden handles 288 with no probs, kinda sweet haven a Microsoft icon above the screen instead of a HTC icon but i dont get any locks, but we still dont know what this is, ?
