rom upgrade worked for me...i decided to test Molski's out, since it seems to be the most commonly talked about (also looks like the latest Custom ROM available). Been using xelencin's for a while, but the extra space with CF2, etc being incorporated into the ROM looked appealing. So far, no problems. Didn't have any problems with just flashing from one custom ROM to another. Looks good.

Well I took the plunge and have to say so far so good. If you follow the instructions this is a no problem upgrade. I have been running Xelencin's latest ROM for awhile and felt like a change.. I did the downgrade to Buttons ROM and then installed Molski's ROM. Works like a champ and looks good also. Now the pain of reinstalling all the programs.

quick question, but i'm assuming that there is no java (intent) midlet manager for this custom ROM? just wondering...since I started using the new gmail java client for my phone, but it looks like i can't install it.

would it be possible to have the midlet manager added to new custom ROMs or was this kept out because Molski doesn't use it (ie, the G/E interchange) :p

Where did you read that? If your device is truly unlocked then you should downgrade to your provider's latest OFFICIAL 2.x ROM (notice the OFFICIAL) and then up to the Molski or whatever. If it's not the you should do the Faria boogie.

Well I have had the ROM installed since last evening and so far I'm liking it. The only issue I have is that it looks like my Wisbar Advance isn't loading up properly. have tried a couple of times and don't seem to be getting anywhere. I thought I had read somewhere that this ROM had issues with a few programs. Any help is welcome.

wclose isn't included. It USED to be in my own custom cab but now I took it out. I've always depended on smartskey and been quite happy with it closing my apps. Longs ago Faria made me a custom ROM that had SMClose (which I believe is the same proggy) and I liked it. Now Molski has a "CloseAll" on the Start menu... bad ass! The wclose was OK but it DID get a little annoying, trust me.

Give this ROM a shot, minor cab fixes here and there maybe for some customizations might be in order... but it's been quite stable.

I have a cab that changes the backlite timeout, various email options, etc.

I can UL it later if wanted.

I too am a complete noob here and have just spent the last hour and 1/2 reading this thread. Over and over our PPC angels (Molski and the Doc) have answered the same install questions in very patient and step-by-step fashions. Even I am tired of just 'reading' the answers much less the time and effort they have put into answering them. A little effort on your part and use of the search function will provide all the answers you need. I have been in your shoes and certainly don't mean to flame you, but these guys are going way above and beyond for our community, a little prior research is not alot to ask.

Relative newbie here - so much to read, and so confusing when you are not familiar with all concepts and terminology.

In any case - Good stuff Molski!
Read instructions, downloaded file, and flashed with no problems.
Much much better than the t-mobile crap I had previously!

Question regarding calander + today screen tweaks.
I have birthdays entered in as recurring all day events.
Calander only seems to display this when you view at as agenda or day mode. If you look at it using week or month mode, there is no indication whatsover. Is there anything that can be done to change this?

Also - on Today screen, it does not seem to indicate an upcoming birthday. For example - I changed the date on my Wizard to the day before my b-day, (which resulted in a bunch of "reminders" being activiated for all the b-days in between), but according to my Today screen, there are no upcoming appointments. When I go to the date of my b-day, the entry is there.

Note - I do not use the "birthday" label option. Is that necessary?

With my previous ROM, there was no problem with displaying this.

Any ideas/advice? I've been looking at the registry, but can't seem to find a solution.

Any better way to manage b-days?

i did find the intent midlet manager (java) in a different forum. you can do a search for it in the search feature. It was uploaded on to somewhere on the xda ftp, so as soon as you find the cab, you can just run it from file explorer and it install the tao intent midlet manager on your device. from there you can install your java apps one by one.

one quirk i did notice with this rom, since so many of the start menu shortcuts are embedded in the ROM, you can't move them into separate folders. For example, I tend to move all my Office applications into a separate folder, such as word mobile, excel mobile, powerpoint mobile (this was done on this custom ROM as "Office Mobile" (which can't be re-named)), but then I like to move all the other common shortcuts into a separate folder to remove clutter, such as tossing WiFiFoFum2 (which does install without having to reinstall the net compact files), Internet Explorer, Modem Link, Pocket MSN, and other Internet files into a separate folder, "Internet Programs".

Is anyone else able to move their files, or were these files embedded and unmovable to save space on this ROM?

also, this was related, since I was looking to just update SmartSKeys to the latest version 0.56 that's available now, rather than the one that was included on the ROM, version 0.54. (I personally like to have the most up-to-date programs, even if the improvements don't help me much, such as some sort of celedial fixes). :p

Molski - I dont suppose you have any "Molskified" Vodafone Roms do you? This morning I installed your ROM and it was the dogs danglies....until I tried to reconnect my BlackBerry connect. The BES server stated that I had an "illegal device" and nothing would make it connect and enable me to get my corporate email.

I have a BES contract with Vodafone and ONLY Vodafone roms allow the service to connect via GPRS.

So, I am now stuck with Vodafone 2.3 ROM which is OK, but no where near as fast and fab as yours.

So, help me Molski, you are my only hope ;-)

My question: how is that done? Is there another piece of software that installs the Extended Rom (after which I would run Molski's update) OR is this included in his package?

i have flashed the latest cf2.exe for my g3. this was the unocked version. but at the end i have only 22.66 mb ram of program and 44.1 mb ofstorage memory on the storage. the dialer skin also is not normal with the dialed numbers not being visible. can anyone throw any light on my probs.

If you wish to change the dialers or if they display incorrectly, you need to uninstall your current dialer and install the dialer of your choice.

PaulyA now has a selection of dialers in CAB file format. Yon CAN'T just install the dialer you want over the dialer you have.....AGAIN, uninstall--reinstall. You will have to soft-reset after each step.

If your ipl/SPL ends in .000 you have a G3 chip, if it ends .001 then you have G4. Soft reset you device to see the IPL and SPL version

Follow this exactly!!!

1. Downgrade to the 1.05
2. Download Lokiwiz and extract it to the root of one of your drives, I'm using E: today on my Thinkpad.
3. Copy enablerapi.dll to your device with ActiveSync (don't create a partnership yet, explore as Guest), I just copy to it's root.
4. Execute enablerapi.dll from your device.
5. Open a Command prompt (<Start> <Run> type "cmd" without the quotes and hit <Enter>
6. Go to the root of whatever drive you extracted Lokiwiz to, my case I type "E:" <Enter>
7. Type "U" <Enter> .. wait and you device WILL soft reset. If it doesn't then you're not following instructions!
8. Stay at the Command Prompt!
9. Run Lokiwiz a second time and type "C" <Enter. Your device will reset a second time... if it doesn't you didn't follow instructions.
10. Exit the Command prompt
11. Downgrade to the 1.05 a SECOND time. Upon reboot, if you followed procedure, you will have a IPL and SPL of 1.x

btw, I follow this procedure each time I install a new ROM, unless I know it doesn't have a IPL/SPL loader.

I've done this to over two dozen Cingular and T-Mobile Wizards (all started with either 1.08 or 2.25)

Now I canb go back to sleep!!

When I wake up I'll update my signature....

People may be doing the same as I was...Using Lokwiz2 NOT 2b.

Make sure you are using version 2b as this is the only one to Unlock correctly!!!

this rom is badd ass but just wondering if there is some special way to use the voice speed dial feature, i remember it being in the phone menu when you are about to make a call, but i cant find it now.. i set up a few thing with the voice dial settings in control panel.. also in the phone menu there are turn hands-free on and the conference buttons are grayed out, Do i have to activate something somewhere? can anyone help w/this?

ok problem to report.. lets see if neone else is having this problem.. i run pocketx photocontacts 4.01 pro... this rom and only this rom seem to close the app out. now this hasnt happen b4 and i dont close the app and its set to ignore exit requests but something in this rom is causing it to close.

I have no problems with Photo Contacts Pro, except that sometimes the "DEFAULT" ringtone I have assigned to calls gets overriden by the default in the Windows sound settings. Program works fine with this ROM, doesn't close at all. However, even strictly following the faria's flashing procedure, I couldn't get CF2 and Midled Manager working, had to manually install them.

Thanks everyone .. now is everything ok. Problem was version 2b.. Other version don't work on my MDA.. :) All works ok, except PhoneAlarm . Something about registration.. It report that i have password for lite version and "full version" options will be unavailible. On orginal ROM works fine. :confused: I will try newer version Phone alarm.. This on is 1.5x ... i don't have newer.

I downloaded RUU_Molski.Biz_226102_22610105_022511_G4_WWE from your website.
and like it said it was a G4, however my spl and ipl said 2.17
however everything works excelent the only thing i notice is that there are 2 G (gprs)- sing on the top ogf my screen.
when i started i had approx. 40Mb free to use for programs installing.
i overclocked the thing to 240Mhz and i must say that it is running smoothly.
the only thing i'm wondering about is if i can expect problems.

I have imate K-Jam which had original imate
ROM: 2.16.9.1
GSM: 02.07.10
SLP/IPL: 2.16

I unlocked CID, and then tried to upgrade device to Molski ROM, upgrade did not show any errors, after it finished i see Molski boot screen which shows this info:
ROM: 2.16.9.1
GSM: 02.07.10
IPL/SPL: 2.26
Ext ROM: 2.26.10.2

So as you see it upgraded only IPL/SPL. This was probably because CID did not unlock properly.
So i had to do this:
Downgraded to 1.5 ROM, but at first it downgraded everything except SPL (which was still 2.16). Very strange.
So i run downgrade rom one more time - this time it downgraded SPL too.
Then i ran lokwiz2b and unlocked CID (it was not unlocked). Ran lokwiz2b one more time to check it is unlocked and this time strings were the same which means that CID was unlocked on the first run.
Then upgraded ROM to official i-mate 2.16 and only then i upgraded to Molski ROM.

Everything works perfect now.

Just wanted to mention that Risidoro's ROM (which I'm using now) does have the same ETEN dialer & it works fine including speed dial & history. You & several other people mentioned ETEN dialer problems. Just wanted to mention that Risidoro's ROM (which I'm using now) does have the same ETEN dialer & it works fine including speed dial & history. :D If one of you are still thinking about use or not use Molski AKU 2.3, I'd say that you can have it working smootly on your Wizard device!

All you have to do is follow Faria's method and you'll be fine! Works exactly as described by him and others like Dr. P and fellows. I confess had problems in the begining trying to install and getting IPL different from SPL. It didn't work that way! So, follow the instructions mentioned many times here on how to do (checklist) and you'll be happy in the end! :)

As per my signature, I finally install Molski's ROM.

I was lazy and tried to flash straight from my 2.17.7.2 WWE ROM but didn't work that well.

So after reading the whole thread, this is what I did:

1. Took out my minisd card
2. Downgraded my ROM to 1.05 as per Dr Puttingham instructions
3. Did a CID unlock
4. Flashed ROM to same 1.05 ROM
5. Flashed Molski's ROM
6. Voila!

If you do as I did, you will not have any problems!!

I love it.. works like a charm.. defnitely much faster that when I had the 2.17.7.2 WWE ROM on.. plus all the tweaks/apps are already on!

During update, progress bar in RUU update utility stops at 95%. According to update instructions, I did not disconnect Qtek9100, but after 1h, progress bar did not improve even 1%, Windows task manager show 100% processor time, non-stop. After 1h, through task manager, I kill RUU update utility and on the next screen click on the recovery button. Not even after that move, nothing happens. Then I shot down qtek, disconnect form USB cable and start again. I got 4 colour screen with three items 1.RUU, 2.IPL 2.26, 3.SPL 2.26. Try to perform hard reset did not give any improvements. Any help will be very, very usefull, because i use qtek as a primary phone, organizer etc.... Procedure for recovery will be first step I think...

Is it just a url that needs to be entered to get it (can't find it on google anywhere) or is it an enhanced version of PIE?

First, I have the Tmobile wizard 3G. I had the same problem and tried vertually all the downgrade-reinstall procedures on the thread with no luck. As a last ditch effort I tried the Unlock/down-grade/up-load-new series FROM A DIFFERENT COMPUTER (my laptop). Worked absolutly Perfect! Make sure you have unlocked BOTH sim/cid first (again). You may have to downgrade to a 1.x version of ipl/spl. Good luck, it's VERY worth it.

The only problem that I have nothing for the MMS (folder etc ).
There was somewhere a cab file which installs the MMS things .
Could help somebody, how to setup the MMS ?

In order to change the Eten dialer to the default one change the following registry from 1 to 0: HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\Enabled

And don't forget to do a soft reset in order for the change to take effect.

After running several of Summiter's ROMs and then going to the upgraded Cingular 2.25 ROM, I was ready for another ROM.

Molski -- this was it!! I really needed the additional memory for my GPS mapping software. Lo and Behold!! I now have what I needed!! Instead of the prior 12MB of Storage Memory, I now have over 26MB -- and instead of the previous 14 - 16MB of Program Memory, I now have almost 24MB!! This is after reinstalling what needed to be reinstalled, doing a soft reset and running the Photo Dialer Today Plugin and PocketBreeze w/ iLauncher, PocketWeather and Spb Time integrated as custom tabs on my Today Screen!!!

I did what I always do -- downgrade to the 1.05 ROM, then made sure I was CID unlocked and ran the installer for Molski's ROM. First time through -- it all worked like it was supposed to. . . and -- I'm a WOMAN!!! Inside of 4 hours -- from start to finish -- to downgrade, unlock, upgrade and reinstall what needed to be reinstalled on the phone itself. (Most of my programs are on the storage card, which was removed before flashing the update).

Then, I started reading the thread thinking I might pick up some additional tips or find some issues that I might need to look for. Instead, I found 30 pages out of the thread's 35 pages with people who didn't follow instructions and kept asking "what did I do wrong?" GEEZ!!

I've been away from this forum for awhile -- have been spending time on software developers' forums for programs I'm running, and on Cingular's forums (since I have the 8125). Over and over, I see 'noobs' asking the same questions -- over and over -- and over again. So, I decided to come back to where there was "intelligent life".

Ah, but not so. :( Same thing here, too. Never thought I'd see it on these forums -- guess I was away much too long.

Molski -- THANK YOU AGAIN FOR THIS 30mb ROM!! No issues here whatsoever. Upgrade went like a charm and no issues to report. Now, I DARE my GPS software to give me one of it's 'memory allocation" error messages. :D

Personally I believe that the new users should for starters upgrade to their provider's latest official ROM and kick the tires first. It's kinda hard to expect a total noob that just got their PDA last week to critique a beta ROM...

Dr. P -- One thing I see is that probably 1/2 -- if not more -- of the questions users ask in these forums should have been posted in -- and would have been answered by -- posting in the Carriers' Phone & Device Support forums. Things such as "My battery died" . . . "I can't turn my phone on" . . . "I can't send MMS" . . . you get the idea.

These types of questions are why Carriers have Phone & Device support forums. I don't believe they have any relevance here.

To me, these forums are for the developers and people who want to go BEYOND the support offered for the device itself. . . basically for users who like to tweak it to be better than it was. . . able to do more . . . push it to the limit, as they say.

I love coming here to read some of the threads about a new and different app someone has developed. But, seems like most of the threads get hijacked with questions pertaining to phone support itself, rather than troubleshooting the APP.

I may be a woman, but have the reputation among my co-workers and friends of being "ate up" (as one of my female co-workers likes to say). But, guess who she comes to with her computer problems?? :p

Before I had Mr. Clean ROM 2.24, running this ROM now, and I have a few small glitches:

1. german Umlauts; while I managed to have the correct keyboard layout throuhg the 0407 registry entry, I can't make umlauts. Before I wrote for Example an "o", then pressed the red button and space, and would have a "ö". Doesn't work now.

2. SMS name completion; when writing a text message, there used to be a drop down with names from contacts that apply and I could just select the correct one. Now it takes me to a second page where I have to select the correct recipient. Maybe this was a mod in the Mr Clean ROM?

3. bad reception; before I had also radio ROM 02.47.11, and in this ROM it is the name, though my reception is way worse now. In places where I had not much reception (only one dot under the antenna symbol), I now actually drop reception and have searches for a very long time for network...

Otherwise it's quite a nice ROM, and fast too (of course I'm running 240MHz ;))

A word of caution... be very careful of your OC MHZ setting. I've always set mine to 260MHZ. A user in the Faria thread stated he OC'ed to 280. My device hung SO bad, was a real bitch to fix.

Using this ROM with the Windows Mediaplayer I receive an error message " Not enough storage is available to complete this operation". I have 22,8 MB RAM and 28 MB in the storage memory, 106 MB on the storage card.
In the other (without the CF-2) Molski 30 MB RAM, I receive the same message. After softreset it works.
It would be no problem ( I do not want to use the mediaplayer), but I am afraid that it is a sympton of other bigger problem. ????

I have a Qtek 9100 G3 and always use your Roms. The last I used was a

RUU_Molski.Biz_226102_22610105_022511_WWE (G3 Device. IPL/SPL like: 2.xx)

I tried to install your new Rom yesterday:

and it got like that:

The installation ocurred without a problem but when my device started I saw there was a problem with the dialer… it didn’t show the numbers and it was blurry. Reg. other customizations, I guess it was not installed… I have an impression that the extended rom was not installed correctly. What should I do?

Now I downgrade for RUU_Molski.Biz_226102_22610105_022511_WWE (G3 Device. IPL/SPL like: 2.xx) and it is OK.

I appreciate any help you can give me so I can install correctly your new Rom; I believe I am doing something wrong.

I've been wondering for a while about the possibility of taking a stock 2.25 Cingular Rom and adding your registry tweaks & performance enhancements....

The thing I'm confused about, is there anything in your registry tweaks & performance enhancements that may cause issues with a stock rom?????

I'm trying to figure out the relationship the two additions you add to your roms and the roms you cook???? Do the extra things (reg tweaks & perf enhancement) SPECIFICALLY address things only found in the the roms you build and the way you build them?????

Hi Molski,

First, you did a great job with your latest rom. I installed it on my MDA 24 hours ago. I like it. There are two points which i would like to tell you:

1. The sound on my bluetooth Jabra 620S is less loud then withthe other rom. The contact with the Vario is a lot quicker.

2. It happened two times that when I made a phonecall the Mda would not respond anymore. Only a reset started the vario again.

In your explenation you also say to install the extended rom. Is that one not within the rom? I could not find the rom on your site.

Also when i want to make a phonecall and put on the numbers of the phonenumber these numbers are not shown.

Because AKU3.2/AKU3.3 is not stable yet and still has some bugs I tested a lot on my (already released) 2.26.10.2 30MB Rom and build a new 2.26.10.2 Rom.

But I am doubting if I should release this one....it will be the 3rd edition of a Molski.Biz 2.26.10.2 AKU2.3 Rom!!
Future releases of Molski.Biz Roms will have everything what also is in this Rom, only the AKU will be updated (for now...)

ROMS password protected in the XDA ftp server are usually a Beta version of the ROM. Not for public release.

1. Downgrade to the 1.05
2. Download Lokiwiz and extract it to the root of one of your drives, I'm using E: today on my Thinkpad.
3. Copy enablerapi.dll to your device with ActiveSync (don't create a partnership yet, explore as Guest), I just copy to it's root.
4. Execute enablerapi.dll from your device.
5. Open a Command prompt (<Start> <Run> type "cmd" without the quotes and hit <Enter>
6. Go to the root of whatever drive you extracted Lokiwiz to, my case I type "E:" <Enter>
7. Type "U" <Enter> .. wait and you device WILL soft reset. If it doesn't then you're not following instructions!
8. Stay at the Command Prompt!
9. Run Lokiwiz a second time and type "C" <Enter. Your device will reset a second time... if it doesn't you didn't follow instructions.
10. Exit the Command prompt
11. Downgrade to the 1.05 a SECOND time. Upon reboot, if you followed procedure, you will have a IPL and SPL of 1.x

It works for me, but if Cingular people always run into troubles with AKU3.2 Roms, maybe it is not a good idea to release it after all.

when i get a Private/Unknown caller calling in.. u kno on caller id my ringtone will NOT ring.. any other call it rings but if its Private/Unknown it will not ring.. i do have photo contacts 4.01 installed but it is disabled..i disabled it thinking that caused the issue but it did not. i know someone else said they had a problem with custom ringtones but has neone else ran past this issue.. i do also have VC 1.6 installed to..

I tried to run RUU_Molski.Biz_AKU2.3-226102_22610105_024711_WWE-30MB-CF2.exe from my host PC and, when it tried to push the ROM to the installer shows the following message:

ERROR [300] : INVALID UPDATE TOOL.
This Update Utility cannot be used for you PDA Phone. Please get newer Update Utility.

Therefore, I would like to know:
1) Is this the properly ROM to my Qtek 9100 device?
2) You mentioned that the current 2.3 if for G3, not G4 ROMs. How can I check this - G3 or G4 - in my Qtek?
3) If is there an additional utility, where can I get it?
4) Case some procedure/understanding from my side is missing, is there some URL where I can found these detailed instructions?

This is my first firmware update on this mobile area, and I apologize for the newbie basic doubts. Thus, if you need some additional information about my device, please let me know.

IN MY HUMBLE OPINION...

THIS TOPIC IS CLOSED

All "problems", the dialer bug, the upgrade problem, the 'where to download' problem, the 'is this g3 or g4' problem, the 'how can I cid unlock my device' are all asked here multimple times and all questions are answered multiple times.

From now on I will make a promise to people that want to use, or are using my Molski.Biz Roms, I will only respond to serious problems, whether it is in the thread, by PM or by email (I hope people ask things in the threads, so also other people can read it).

I am getting nuts to read 1-2 CID unlock or upgrade problems on every page of this topic!

I've tried Molski's latest rom, but I have a problem. When the qtek turns off the screen, many times I cant get it back on, and have to make a soft reset. I have also noticed that when not in use, it suddenly reboots by itself, and when it comes up, it cant find any gsm signal, and I have to make a soft reset again. Then it finds the signal quickly. I did a hard resett, and tried it without any software installed, and it still has the problem with not wanting to come back from "sleepmode". I have also noticed that when turning it back on when it is not locked, it comes on normally, but when I turn it back on, when it is locked, I get a white screen first for a second, and then it comes back, is this normal ??
Anybody ?? Anything ??

Please report back what your IPL/SPL are. They will show up on the screen when the system is booting. At this point don't know if you have G3 or G4 device.

You have a G3. I would suggest that you go back and read everything you can find. Start at the beginning of the thread and read it all. Make sure the phone is cid unlocked. Flash with the latest ROM your carrier has and see how the phone behaves.

I take it that you are referring to Molski's ROM. I have been running Faria's 3.2 ROM for the last week or so prior to that I was running Molski's latest and don't remember ever having any problems. As a matter of fact it was just about the best ROM I have ever put on my phone. I have to say it doesn't matter what ROM I run sometimes the phone just doesn't ring. The VM alert usually goes off but no ring for incoming call. Very frustrating.

I have been running the latest Molski ROM for just over a week and it's pretty much PERFECT for what I need to do. I tried to read as much as I could (difficult in this thread) b4 I started. When I completed the process, my ROM version read 2.25xx.. So.. I started from scratch with Button's 1.05 ROM and lokiwiz02b (even though I was already unlocked).. I flashed with Button's ROM again and then Molski's ROM. Threw on the Cingular connect and MMS cab and been runnin' like a champ ever since.

I'd like to thank Molski for this great ROM and those who have patiently answered many questions on this thread. I learned a whole bunch from the questions and the answers.

The extended ROM is installed when you install the ROM. After you go over the little copy and paste tutorial it will install and reset your device

I have really big problems updating, my Computer is always rebooting during the update process, thats no problem since i can start it again because my MDA is booting in this colored screen ( Bootloader is suppose ) and i can start again, but my Computer is rebooting it self. Anyone got a solution for that ?

This sounds like a pc problem, the only thing you can do is go through your system to try to identify the hardware issue.

one odd issue i am having .. and cant figure it out ..

i can surf the net, i can get my push mail from work .. but i can not get my msn hotmail using pocketMSN .. i tried both connection settings (edge and my ISP).. i am using cingular.. windering if there is an odd setting i may be missing some where ? .

What you have got on boot screen? I mean, IPL/SPL, GSM and OS versions!
You shouldn't have any issues at all using this ROM. It runs perfectly! Search for Dr. Puttinghan and Jacob's checklist in this thread and follow exactly what is described there. Good luck!

Many thanks for your advice. I'd love to give it a try - I did use this dialer before (with Risidoro's ROM) and like it very much. Unfortunately, I can't find that cab even though I've spent a lot of time searching. Can you (or Dr. P.? I think Dr. P. has access to it as well) post it or indicate where one can find it.

Other than that (minor) issue this ROM is great: quick and lean, with lots of memory.

I just wanted to thank you for this great ROM: it's fast and lean, with lots of memory.

I completely agree with you - people really should read first, and ask questions second. It certainly worked for me: the installation went smoothly with no problems whatsoever, and everything works perfectly including all programs on the memory card (with the exception of Opera which had to be reinstalled; but this has nothing to do with your ROM, that's how Opera is designed). So, I don't know why people are complaining.

If you do plan to cook Version 4 (and I hope you do :) ), here is a suggestion (it is _your_ ROM, of course - and a great one already; I hope it's OK to make a suggestion): Consider including in your "Installers" folders the following additional cabs:

-Java (preferably, Intent) - that's very important when travelling (one cannot receive OTA data configurations without Java);
-Flash player; and
-a few optional goodies such as smartDial+EtenSkinPortretD_v2.cab and a couple of nice themes and rings (I had them on my previous ROM (Risidoro's) and got attached to them, I guess; admittedly, they have no impact whatsoever on the performance of the device; we all have our weaknesses :D ).

P.S. A comment to moderator: several people suggested (on another thread) several techniques to minimize the amount of annoying postings of the same questions over and over. Such techniques include allowing people to post only after a certain time has elapsed since joining (a week? a month?) and/or limiting the number of posts for, say, the first year to perhaps one post per week or so. I'd support such suggestions as they'd go a long way to reducing clutter. The last thing this community needs is to alienate its key contributors such as Molski, Faria (who already shut down one thread), Dr. P., Risidoro and others. Cingular Cabs are included below. Install the P_Conn_CWS_APR12_Wizard.cab first then the PM_MSFPHeartbeat_Wizard_060522.cab.

You should create a folder on your storage card to hold the necessary cabs.

I have a Cingular 8125, currently with Summiter's latest ROM installed, I would like to try Molski's ROM but want to be sure that I install the necessary Cingular files afterwards (and none that are unnecessary).

I have been searching and reading a lot, the task has been arduous (I sometimes have difficulties getting the search function to yield what I'm looking for) - I have successfully unlocked and upgraded - just trying to find the best combination of speed, stability, and memory room and be able to use efficiently on my Cingular network.

Any tips regarding Cingular-specific installations after installation of Molski's 226102_22610105_024711_WWE-30MB-CF2 ROM would be appreciated.

THIS IS HOW TO UPGRADE TO THIS ROM.. IF ITS TO MUCH WORK FOR YOU TO DO THEN DONT BOTHER.. DO NOT ASK IF YOU CAN USE ANY OTHER ROMS FOR DOWNGRADING.. ONLY USE THE ONE THAT IS RECOMMENDED HERE.. IF IT DOESNT WORK YOUR DOING SOMETHING WRONG AND U SHOULDNT BE ALLOWED ON A PC!


1. Download Molski's new rom @ ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com...E-30MB-CF2.exe

2. Download Button's custom 1.05 rom for downgrading purposes @ http://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.co..._11210_WWE.exe

3. Download Lokiwiz @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...2&d=1135865869 and extract it to the root of one of your drives.

4. Downgrade to Button's 1.05 custom rom for the first time!

5. Copy enablerapi.cab to your device with ActiveSync (don't create a partnership yet, explore as Guest), I just copy to it's root.

6. Execute enablerapi.cab from your device. Wait until its done installing before you do anything!

7. Go into the folder where you extracted Lokiwiz and run Lokiwiz.bat

8. Type "U" <Enter> .. wait and you device WILL soft reset. If it doesn't then you're not following instructions!

9. Stay at the Command Prompt!

10. Run Lokiwiz a second time and type "C" <Enter. Your device will reset a second time... if it doesn't you didn't follow instructions.

10. Exit the Command prompt

11. Downgrade to the 1.05 a SECOND time. Upon reboot, if you followed procedure, you will have a IPL and SPL of 1.x

12. ONLY THEN CAN YOU UPGRADE TO MOLSKI'S ROM!

... if your phone doesnt read 2.26/2.26 02.47.11 2.26.10.2 then you messed up somewhere so please throw your phone out the window and go buy a nokia or motorola pos!

Been using his Rom and is Great!! but I have noticed a couple of bugs when i click on contacts and hold the down button in the wizard, the screen will normally scroll down the list until a point where the big alphabet letters appear to jump from letter to letter. Once i stop in the correct letter and if i choose that contact, the contact before the jump is the one that actually gets selected and not the one currently on the screen.
Example:

Dario (When the big alphabet letters begin to appear)
E
F
G
..
M (stop pressing down)
Monica (if i select this one. The one actually selected would be Dario)
Nancy (if I select this one Nancy is selected and everything would be fine)

Secondly, I don't know how and why the time is always in military format and is impossible to change it back in the regional settings by modifying the time style (cselecting any of the two options doesn't do anything to it).

You need to fill in the MMS settings, go to "messages" - "menu" - "tools" - "options" - "MMS" - "servers" and there should be a server called "default" if your on T-Mobile USA, the settings should be like this:

80 or 8080

Server Address:
http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms

Make it connect via your GPRS connection and that should work.

I know it is CID unlocked (i paid for the unlocking service via http://www.imei-check.co.uk/) but I've also never had the automatic installation of the extended rom either, so I Have no idea of what is going on / what is wrong. :\ I've read through all of the forums of all of the roms ive installed. Any of you have a clue?

I guess you're new :)
The answer is NO, it will automatically install, just don't interrupt the process.
And another thing, be sure that you know what you are doing, and only after that begin.

getting an odd problem with this rom. installed it a couple of times now but still dont work properly.

a) it doesnt install any of the software
b) doesnt install the black theme
c) the phone dialer looks rather broken with a blotchy white and blue buttons but no print out of the dialed number at the top.

any ideas?

when the ext rom is installing i deffo see it say installing all the bits (including the blacktheme.tsk file)
