This Rom contains IPL/SPL 2.26, so this Rom is FOR G3 WIZARDS ONLY, A G4 Rom will follow shortly.


BIG IMPORTANT NOTE:
There is ONE bug in the Rom, the Last Call, when you press the green dial button is not shown.
I will fix this in the next release!!!

Because AKU3.2/AKU3.3 is not stable yet and still has some bugs I tested a lot on my (already released) 2.26.10.2 30MB Rom and build a new 2.26.10.2 Rom.

But I am doubting if I should release this one....it will be the 3rd edition of a Molski.Biz 2.26.10.2 AKU2.3 Rom!!
Future releases of Molski.Biz Roms will have everything what also is in this Rom, only the AKU will be updated (for now...)

So I am making a poll here, I would like to know what other people think that I should do...

For all the people that voted "Stop developing AKU2.3 Roms, make us a AKU3.2/AKU3.3 Rom" in the poll...please remember that AKU3.2 Roms are in fact "transformated" AKU2.3 Roms, they are NOT stable yet, they DO HAVE bugs and if there is one thing I don't want is to release a Rom with bugs in it.

With all the AKU3.2 Roms I used I CAN'T use Wifi, so it is not stable, so I will not provide you with a Rom that is giving me problems.

Take a look at any release and some people are having problems with it :-)! We push the systems to the edge (and sometimes beyond). And I also think there are some fundamental flaws in the OS that none of the versions fully address.

But.. I will say I use 3.2 successfully... Switching between WiFi, Activesync, and GPRS network connections on a daily basis. I've got a batch of third-party apps on it as well. And for me, it works as well (or better) as any of the other releases (HTC production, Summiter, etc.).

Just my experience, but wanted to give one positive reference for 3.2.

Molski, release it, I've tried the 3.2 and it's too unstable still, I agree Faria did a great job. But it's hard to modify a DAF 44 to run like a porsche.

I've switch back to your ROM and hoping this new one is as good as the previous one.

Well, all in all this is the bomb. I'm working with Molski on some minor issues but all in all it's the most bug free I'm tested so far (no offense to anyone intended!) No big bells, whistles, etc... just a ROM that's quick and stable. I'm working on some seperate customization cabs that won't probably be included in the final release but will be available, mostly aimed at the Cingular crowd.

His 3.2 is probably the best I've tested but I had to downgrade to the 2.26 just as I did from the othere 3.2's. I live and die by my phone, direct push included. The 3.2's that I've tested have all had phone button issues, especially when responding to my voice mail options.

i think the term is; faria IS doing a great job

my rom is not unstable. it has some compatibility isues.only people that tried the first 3.2 room will know how much i fixed and improved that rom.
i mean...
does my rom suffer from random reboots etc etc?
only a few uses i my rom at the moment
spb gprs not working. no major bugs.
a bug in netcf that molski is helping me with
and some people has some power on issue.
this is not a rom that i just stripped from an official one, that has everything working and then just add what i want.well..thats is piece of cake compared,to mine 3.2.
as molski will tell you, i have been helping him as he asked to better this rom that he is going to release.
the point of my rom is to test as much as possible, so when everything is fixed .a clean version will be released. and molski already asked me for a copy for is future projects.

if roms were perfect even the official ones .this site would not exists.

should i release the new aku 3.xxx that a got when the time comes?

Faria, if I in some way offended you, then I apologise, you are doing a great job and I'm looking forward to your next 3.2.

I tried and will be trying (if I'm allowed, after my comment) your ROM's the moment they will come out. Because of problems with the 3.2, I went back to molski's, mainly RAM in my case.

It's without question that you are the Wizard with the Wizard here, where Molski deliveres a stripped T-mob with some modifictions in the registry, which is perfect for a hassle free usage. I use my phone for what's it designed for during the day at work, for this the T-mob (molski) is perfect. At home and the weekend it's my toy, for doing things like testing your ROM and trying to help you to configure a Day to Day usable ROM.

Again if I offended someone I apologise and I will refrain from posting comments like this.

I would think that your rel-3 ROM will be used for a while as many of us have programs that may(will) have issues with an updated AKU. Until software vendors fix these issues your rel-3 ROM will be the only option for many of us.

I'm using your current one - wonderful ROM - excellent. frankly saying i tried the AKU3 but this one is not stable (battery drains, power ups). Looks like it will take a while until a dissent one can be used.
therefore I do believe that a new optimized AKU from Molski is the best and will be used for long time.

There is one Rom on the FTP right now that is password locked. It's there so my beta-tester could get it.
I'm dealing with a few issues right now, but I can promise everyone they will see a new Rom from me in 1-2 weeks, with a little luck it will be a stable AKU3.2 Rom with a big thank you to me fantastic co-developer Faria!) instead of a 3rd release of my AKU2.3 2.26.10.2 Rom.
So look out for me, but when I release something, everbody will know it a.s.a.p. ;)

Donations are always nice, not to stimulate you to donate, but people that do something for me always earn a lot more respect then others, but hey, I always try to help everybody :)

Molski, still happily using your first ROM. Wanted to upgrade to your latest but since you are already working on a new one I will patiently wait a little longer.

I have a small feature request. Don't know if it already exists or not but it would be nice if the device locked/unlocked item on the today screen was reduced to just the icon in the lower right corner, next to the battery indicator. The less room my today items eat away the better, especially now my calendar is getting swamped with all these appointments ;).

Keep up the good work and hopefully you will be able to put together a stable enough AKU 3.x rom some day.

Why don't you all team up and come up with a "XDA-DEV ROM" or something, in stead of making everyone on this forum so confused to which ROM they should switch and therefore creating multiple threads with: "which ROM is the best" etc. etc.

If I then give someone an advise, I get immediately attacked by some "developer" why or what is better about their or his ROM.

This forum is loosing it's superiority it had over the other forums.

1st...there is NO such thing as a battle, you would be surprised how much me and other developers talk with each other and what "agreements" we made.

We, developers, do not do this for ourselves, but for the community!

AKU3.2 seems unstable, but thanks to my co-developer Faria (!!), we can all get a stable AKU3.2 Rom.

It is not a competition of "which Rom is the best", but "how can we developers, serve the community the best!".

I'm planning on releasing an AKU3.2 Rom, my testers and Faria's testers have less problems every day with AKU3.2 Roms, so it can be confirmed as a stable Rom.

In the meanwhile, if after 1-2-3 weeks people still are having problems with my or Faria's AKU3.2 rom, you can bet that I will release a new AKU2.3 Rom.
It will be exact the same as the AKU3.2, the only difference will be that it is AKU2.3!

I have used both the latest ROMS from Faria and Molski and they are the best on my Dopod 838. I am currently using Faria's test ROM and i like it and so far, no major bugs or problems with me,ROMS from Molski and Faria are the best, they share the same speed..I'd like to try this one out and see what would be my impression..

I am wondering Molski if you have included the wclose.exe from the AKU 3.2 to this ROM, it really served me a lot.

I have used both the latest ROMS from Faria and Molski and they are the best on my Dopod 838. I am currently using Faria's test ROM and i like it and so far, no major bugs or problems with me,ROMS from Molski and Faria are the best, they share the same speed..I'd like to try this one out and see what would be my impression..

none of this was done.. i did not click on the OK when it was loading the extended rom.. i allowed it to install the rom completely and then it restarted the device.. i went into the extended_rom and the .cab files are only 1.4k i do believe u need to repack this rom because the .cabs are incorrect size.

Smartskey has not got a TaskManager, instead of wclose I use a combination of Smartskey and CloseAll (one click program to close all running apps) on my Roms. But also Smartskey has the option to Close (not minimize) a running app by press and hold the Contacts softkey.

Why don't you just listen, let the Rom and Extended Rom install and THEN give me some feedback.

i know i let the extended rom install because it said Soft resetting device or something along those lines after installing one of ur Molski.Biz_*.cab files. the wireless today plugin did appear on my today screen but nothing else seem to happen besides that. oh and the scroll bars changed to 9. is there maybe something else im not doing? i feel like a fool so please help lol

also it did create IE Mobile on my SD card but thats all. what went wrong?

i just re-installed the AutoRun.exe from the \extended_rom and it soft reset the device again could it be that the .cab files located in the \extended_rom are incomplete cabs? im just asking so plz dont freak on me lol

Maybe there is something strange going on with your device, but this:

Final comment on this matter!

Everything is working like it should.
All shortcuts are correct, Smartskey is working, CloseAll, picture themes, Office Mobile folder in Programs. Just like I thought.

Take my advice and do the following:

Flash my Rom, let the Extended Rom install (not via Total Commander as I see what you were doing!!) and try if everything works.
If you read the Release notes carefully you can see that everything listed there should work!

It's disabled in all my Roms, I always say, I make Roms the way I like them the most, I hate the little "E" so that's why it's turned off.
I almost never use Edge/GPRS, but I had a Rom installed (not mine, Qtek Rom) that had a bug with the "E", since that time I always have it off ;)

I have been thinking and maybe some things are not updated on your Wizard.
Problem is, you flash from a 2.26.10.2 Rom to another 2.26.10.2 Rom, so it could be possible that the old OS is still present on your Wizard.

- Can you tell me about the splash, you see Molski.Biz 2.26.10.2 on the splash, but do you ALSO see AKU2.3 (under the 2.26.10.2)?
- If the Music, Videos and Picture folder in My Documents are not empty, then it's definitely the wrong OS.
- If Word, Excel and Powerpoint are not in "Office Mobile" folder, then it's definitely the wrong OS.
- Try to install an application that requires .NET CF2, if it does NOT work, then it's definitely the wrong OS.

Try to downgrade your device, so you are 100% sure you have another OS then 2.26.10.2, and after that upgrade it to my Rom.

Because your IPL/SPL is already 2.26 try the G4 Rom (in the same folder on the FTP), that's exact the same Rom but without IPL/SPL.

Our co-member Dr Puttingham is an expert in downgrading and upgrading, I hope he wants to put a little how-to here how he does his downgrading, but if I remeber correct he always uses Buttons 1.05 Rom.

Just try it, you can try other Roms, but Dr P. always uses this one when he is in problems or when he has CID-locked devices with IPL/SPL 2.xx, he downgrades to this Rom, unlocks it and upgrade to a Rom he wants (in this case my Roms ;) ).

Follow this exactly!!!

1. Downgrade to the 1.05
2. Download Lokiwiz and extract it to the root of one of your drives, I'm using E: today on my Thinkpad.
3. Copy enablerapi.dll to your device with ActiveSync (don't create a partnership yet, explore as Guest), I just copy to it's root.
4. Execute enablerapi.dll from your device.
5. Open a Command prompt (<Start> <Run> type "cmd" without the quotes and hit <Enter>
6. Go to the root of whatever drive you extracted Lokiwiz to, my case I type "E:" <Enter>
7. Type "U" <Enter> .. wait and you device WILL soft reset. If it doesn't then you're not following instructions!
8. Stay at the Command Prompt!
9. Run Lokiwiz a second time and type "C" <Enter. Your device will reset a second time... if it doesn't you didn't follow instructions.
10. Exit the Command prompt
11. Downgrade to the 1.05 a SECOND time. Upon reboot, if you followed procedure, you will have a IPL and SPL of 1.x

btw, I follow this procedure each time I install a new ROM, unless I know it doesn't have a IPL/SPL loader.

I've done this to over two dozen Cingular and T-Mobile Wizards (all started with either 1.08 or 2.25)

Now I canb go back to sleep!!

As recommanded by molski and puttingam I've downgraded my G4 from 2.26.10.2 to "K-JAM_WWE_216901_2169101_020710" and reflash with molski's new G4 rom.

After the flash no change in OS and GSM versions both reside in 2.16.9.19 (os) and 2.07.10 (radio). I think as mentioned by jacob something is blocking the flashing of new rom and same will reside with current versions.

What you really need is for the OS to upgrade, look in:
settings>system>about>version for the OS Build, mine is:
Build 14847.2.0.0 that is, i Have a 2.0 Core. Ideally, this would change to 2.3 with Molskis new ROM, or 3.2 with the latest betas.

After trying numerous ROMS around for the past year, I was runing Faria's 3.2 Beta. It was great, just had too many goodies that I really didnt need. After that, downgraded to the Official Cingular 2.25, and added Molskis Tweaks. That seemed to be the best combination of form and function.

Without downgrading, or re-unlocking, or anything else today, I succesfuly, without a hitch, upgraded to this new Version 3 Molski ROM. It did hang for a bit at 94%, but that was expected. Extended ROM installed perfectly, and everything is in place.

I have not run into any issues as of yet, and dont expect to. I really like the "Installer" folder so that the user may install any additional apps that he/she may like. Personaly, I only installed the Battery Status app, as the battery meter is no longer on the today screen. The new themes are very nice, and I'm diging the Dark Blue. Its a nice change from the Black that I have running for quite some time.

My only feeble suggestion to any of the hardworking, ingenious developers out there is that I love how Faria's 3.2 had the extra frolder to install Operator Settings. I do have several Cingular operatror cabs for MMS and GPRS, but I have lost track of which one is the most current. (if anyone could re-post that Cingular GPRS & MMS Cab, that would be great, and I can delete all my old ones!) Some more ringtones or sounds is always nice too.

This is not IPL/SPL versions and not dump problem. This OS version what I'm saying is after the flashing my OS has not upgraded to 2.26.10.2. This is first thing we need to check and only then the OS build version.

Anoher stupid question... I am trying to sync all my phone contacts with active sync, but I dont know of any way to check and see if they are on my computer... or does a rom flash even erase your contacts? SOrry for being so ignorant. But thanks for the help!

you appear to have a g3 device. as for reverting, sure. just make sure u have the cingular 2.25 rom which is avaiable from there website. and the gprs/edge isnt disabled, u just need cingular's settings cab which is posted somewhere in this forum.. search for cingular settings or something like that. the only thing disabled is the G/E icon change which u dont really have to worry about. and 50 bucks for the inet? why not change to the smartphone package for 29.99$ which is unlimited data+1000 txt msgs.. u can do it on cingular.com ..50$ is crazy

and about ur contacts if u have outlook 2003 installed (not outlook express) open it up and go to Contacts u should see ur listing there.....if u dont have outlook 2003 installed. do a search for 'contacts backup' on this forum, it will create a .csv file of ur contacts to ur storage card.. granted that is u have a mini-sd card for your 8125

Jacob, thanks for the reply. A couple things are going on now. My keypad menu, is very weird, the numbers pop up, but nothing else, when i dial them i hear them beep, but the number i am dialing does not show up anywhere. my phone physically works , as in i can call people.

Also how do i check to see if all the programs were installed with the extended rom? again sorry for the stupid questions, im trying to learn.

So you flashed 15 times one night and reinstalled everything 15 times?:D

What I want to ask is how to backup the system before flashing rom and how to restore the information after flashing rom. Everytime I restore my data using spbbackup, the included applications in the ROM, such as CF2, JAVA and midlet managerment, just disappeared. I am using the molski.biz_30MB version now, and CF2 and JAVA applications still can't run because of lack of CF2 and JAVA.

Some people tell me that they have issues with the Dialer, can you tell me what dialer it is that the people have problems with?
Because I replaced the standars blue dialer with this one:

Please hard-reset and try again.

It's strange that people have a lot of problems with it, I flashed the rom about 10-15 times onto my device without any problems, also my beta-tester had no issues with the new rom.

So far the rom had not given me any problems.

I had replaced the dialer with another one from Pauly's website which i liked better, and installed a few applications and did a few registry settings so that my german keyboard works as it should. And there is no problems whatsoever.

I have been following this ROM for a few days now, I have been running your Molksi 30 Meg 3G rom for a few weeks with little or no problem. I was interested in this ROM, since it had CF2 in the ROM, and i liked how you organized the applications on the program list. I flashed it last night and for some reason NONE of the customizations worked. I let the extended ROM install, and when i go to install the applications in the Installer Folder, they dont install either. None of the themes or even the orgaizaed application folders (office folder) installed. When I go to the storage settings I see the same issue that someone earlier mentioned...how the total amount of memory used says "4.3 kbs" The dialer didn't install, it shows all the numbes but they are fuzzy and there is a white background behind the numbers


What am i doing wrong? Please let me know!

If Molski's flashed 15 times I've probably flashed ( not to be confused with hard reseting) probably as many times researching this ROM. And EACH time I reflash I do the ENTIRE procedure of downgrading to 1.05 and SIM/CID unlocking... EVERY TIME! This way I don't have any chance of any residual crap left over from a previous installation.... I know that sounds anal .. but I've never had the issues presented here. Bear in mind I have access to G3 devices only so I can not offer any real life experiences to you G4 users. I will tell you that I used to have weird problems flashing and that's why I do it Faria's method... every time. Believe it or not, I've flashed every ROM ever uploaded to the FTP at least once. (and I keep their Extended ROM's on my storage card, each and every one) This includes custom ROM made for me by Faria and Molski and those UWC ROM's. And I am quite thankful to have been asked to test new ROM's by these guys...

Best luck to all of you as this is one of the very best ROM's I've been involved with.

G4 problem still unresolved. I tired flash with many combinations even after downgrading to Imate 2.17 and it is not getting worked. When I tired after 2.17 the OS and GSM are not getting replaced by your rom.

Previously, I had your RUU_Molski.Biz_226102_22610105_022511_WWE.exe on my tmobile MDA, which runs great. But this new ROM showed lots of problems. I would say it is not properly updated. The radio is still 2.25, not 2.47 after update. Only 3 themes installed although I did see it installed the black theme during the extended rom installation. I wonder if it is because you use the old version RUU update utility. Actually, when I run the update program, it can not correctly recognize the previous ROM version, should be 2.26, but it showed 1.20.This ROM does NOT show lots of problems! Look at most every thread for new ROM's and people complain of the same issues. The only way that you can really be sure that you truely updated every aspect of your phone is to downgrade to a previous version. I'm sure that some will dispute this.... what ever.

Upgraded yesterday and everything is working great so far. I thought I found a bug in the dialer but realized it was just different smartskey settings than I am used to, maybe that's what others are seeing (btw, anyway to update the smartskey.ini file with it stored in ROM?)

I agree with Dr. P- everytime I've had any issues they have been resolved by downgraded to 1.5 first.

I wanted to be absolutely clear on the down grading & subsequent upgrading process. Since I have flashed Molski's 2.26 rom (SIM & CID unlocked) do you
"recommend" placing enablerapi.cab and doing another CID unlock when flashing each ROM????? I somehow got the impression that once the phone was SIM & CID unlocked, these didn't have to be repeated, maybe I'm in error, eh? Please be so kind as to clarify this point.

if you folow my way to unlockin a g3 cid with button rom .u only need to to do this 1 time in the life of th ppc. then u will be able to install any rom under the sun.if it does not ,that means the device is not cid unlocked,or the rom u tryng to install has problems or something went wrong with the upgrade process.[i do not belive this rom has any problems regarding flashing]

if you run into problems while flashing a rom,the best way to revert back is to install your official rom,then install the custom rom.

if you run into trouble while flashing,never use a custom rom to restore your device.

While installing this ROM, I experienced the blue screen of death @ 39%. I've used other custom ROMs but this was the 1st time I experienced this. Once everything was back up, my device was stuck on the "boot loader" screen. I tried to revert back to the original ROM...and then to Xelencin's 2.26 because it starts off by unlocking the CID. None worked....so I tried to reinstall this ROM. The device showed no signs of being connected to the pc but thr ROM began to install. Good for me... : )

If you run into any mishaps..don't panic.

2nd day with this rom and everything works great...carrier settings are in and almost all my apps are installed:
SPB Pocket +, Weather & Play
TCPMP, PHM Tray, Omap Clock
Device Lock & items from the installer folder

So far so good....job well done...thanks Molski

I want to personally thank you and the others that have assisted you. With this ROM I have 28+ megs of program memory and 44+ megs of storage memory. What is interesting is I originally went from HTC's rom to your first 30mb free ROM. That was first attempt at installing a custom ROM. However, I was only able to get 25mb free Ram. But after downgrading to the Buttons ROM and then upgrading to your latest release, I have more memory than ever. Thank you for your dedication and your great ROMS.

Activesync. All your contacts are stored in Outlook on your PC.

You can't...you will lose everything just like you would if you were to reinstall your operating system on your pc. If you have your contacts in outlook, you're good. After flashing your device with the new rom, go into activesync and delete your device if you plan on naming it the same.
Ex.: goto start > settings > system > about > device id....name your device & select ok (Everytime I flash my device, I rename it the samething).

Connect your device and setup activesync for the 1st time, your device will sync with outlook and restore your contacts.

This will only work if your contacts are in outlook.

If your device is already unlocked then go the ftp site and downgrade to the official Cingular 2.25 ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Wizard/Roms/Cingular/RUU_Wizard_225111_22511102_022511_CWS_WWE_Ship.exe Then flash with the Molski ROM.

If it's not or you're not sure follow Faria's method.

btw, just did this to another Cingular 8125 while I was typing this. That makes 8 8125's so far, every one flawless first time......

Cingular Cabs are included below. Install the P_Conn_CWS_APR12_Wizard.cab first then the PM_MSFPHeartbeat_Wizard_060522.cab.

You should create a folder on your storage card to hold the necessary cabs.

i don't know if i should agree with you. maybe partially, however notice that people had success stories meaning that if they followed instructions and it worked, it's something going wrong on the users side, correct me if i'm wrong. either instructions were not followed precisely or something else must've happened. people should learn from their mistakes. if molski or whoever posted step by step instructions on how to do the flash and it worked for him numerous times over and over the possibility of bad instructions is very slim. and after "repeating" himself and giving so to say "free support" over and over covering the same problems, believe me it might get a little frustrating, just like people get frustrated by not getting successful flash. just my .02

Here is the issue: I use T-Mo USA service and have a SIM-and-CID-unlocked MDA running a cooked 2.26 ROM (of Risidoro). I'd like to try Molski's new ROM, and I understand from Dr. P's instructions that I should first downgrade to the Cingular's 2.25 ROM. Question: Is it so even though I'll be using T-Mo service and my MDA originally came from T-Mo? The reason I'm asking is that Dr. P's posts focus on Cingular's 8125.

Molski i downloaded the g4 version from your site of this rom but when i run the installer it does not allow me to install says that it is not compatible.
I have downgraded my phone to original rom from manufacturer, the cingular 2.25 using risidoros method, i have also flashed to your first rom, and even flashed to the 1.5 version That bricked my device but recovered it again and fully working, tried the mr clean, rom no avail
I have also tried extracting the nbf file from this rom and running it with thr risidoro installer this installs it i get the new molski boot screen but not the os none of the customizations, etc i have read the entire thread and i cant seem to get a concrete answer to the g4 users.
Hence why i even tried the 1.5 rom.

I got the same problem. I tried to install your rom for the first time yesterday, but your newest G4 version won't install due to compatibility issues. The "older" version however installs perfectly fine. I'm very pleased with it. Thanks for all the work you put into it.

Well i didn't try just replacing the nk file but i did try just using the RUU from wizardloves ROM and the OS didn't change, the tweaks installed ok from the Ext ROM but the applications didn't install (left with just the base apps) and my documents structure stayed with the original files.

I then tryed the typho5 and nb2nbf method to create another nk.nbf file (making sure the start address was at 8004000) and again, same result, no OS change and no apps.

For now i'll stay with wizardloves' 2.26 ROM and wait until your 3.2 is public for my G4.

IPL is updating to 2.26
SPL is also 2.26
but
GSM is 01.12.10 and
OS is 1.5.4.2 - that means no upgrade?!

also, there is no changes in my doc folders, installed apps, themes, lost extended part of memory...

If upgrade from Button RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe to RUU_Molski.Biz_226102_22610105_022511_WWE.exe then instalation pass ok, GSM: 02.26.10.2 and OS: 2.26.10.2, and works fine.

Molski and all others, can you, please, help me? I search forum but i cant find...

I don't get it why people have so much problems upgrading from previous releases from my Roms to this one (maybe because they are all 2.26.10.2 Roms....)
I upgrade/downgrade/replace the 2.26.10.2 about 20-30 times without dealing with a single problem?

I reflashed my latest Rom at least 15 times, I updated also to 3.2 Roms, and downgraded to my own Roms and did not encounter problems.

It's a big question for me why people are having problems reflashing my Roms and I don't....

If you're already unlocked we advice you to downgrade to the latest official ROM version provided by your provider that's beneath the version you're trying to upgrade to. In case you're not aware, the OS of THIS particukar ROM IS from T-Mobile and lot's of us are running it our Cingy's. I doubt that installing the Cingular 2.25 would damage your device but I wouldn't do it. In your case I'd follow the Faria method, IF I'M SURE THAT I HAVE A G3 DEVICE!!!!! My Cingular's, I downgrdae to the Official 2.25. The two MDA's that I support I downgrade to the Button ROM each time (but I vary seldom see those two people so they don't upgraded as much)

My instructions say that your IPL and SPL WILL BOTH CHANGE TO 1.X. If not, then you're doing something wrong, most likely you're not correctly unlocking the CIS and SIM. Often I must downgrade a second time to get the SPL down to 1.x.

btw, to all. If you downgrade to the Button 1.05, IN MY EXPERIENCE, you must rerun the lokiwiz scenario if you want to upgrade immediately to this custom ROM. I've no experience with downgrading to 1.05 and then upgrading to an official ROM. Each time I've tried to downgarde to 1.05, skip the lokiwiz and go straight to a custom ROM my IPL. etc hasn't changed so I had to redo all the steps.

If you follow my steps on page 10, based on Faria's original post, and you have a G3 device (that's a Wizard my attorney is advising me now) I can almost guarantee that your upgrade will be flawless!!!!!!!

Pay special attention to where I tell you that your device WILL reset.... if it doesn't then it didn't work!

First, there's no problem with installing this rom. People who have problems with it should look for answers at other topics (about unlocking and g4 rom flashing etc).

I like the the dialer skin.
I missed Saman's new menu for wm5.
Oxios memory is another free and very useful app that should be there too.
MMS configuration is there now.
I don't know why, but all the 2.26 roms I tried have problems with WMP (skipping song after few seconds). Anybody else have this problem?

If you follow my steps on page 10, based on Faria's original post, and you have a G3 device (that's a Wizard my attorney is advising me now) I can almost guarantee that your upgrade will be flawless!!!!!!!

Pay special attention to where I tell you that your device WILL reset.... if it doesn't then it didn't work!
the reason i postet that in that tread is because at the time of publishing.g4 were been released with 2xxx ipl/spl,and noone new nothing about it,report came in that above 2.21 i did not work.so i posted that coment.i will update the thread.

I don't get it why people have so much problems upgrading from previous releases from my Roms to this one (maybe because they are all 2.26.10.2 Roms....)
I upgrade/downgrade/replace the 2.26.10.2 about 20-30 times without dealing with a single problem?

I reflashed my latest Rom at least 15 times, I updated also to 3.2 Roms, and downgraded to my own Roms and did not encounter problems.

It's a big question for me why people are having problems reflashing my Roms and I don't....

I hear you man. When I bought my G3 Cingular 8125, I immediatley unlcoked my device with Lockwiz. I have only done so once. I have tested close to every ROM out there. Many flashes were upgrades, many were downgrades. I have never had a problem upgrading or downgrading from any ROM I found on this site. I do underrstand the logic of downgrading to an official base ROM with the intent of getting all the old parts of the OS out, but I have never done so, and have never noticed any problems on my device.

Why are you making this so difficult?? My post on page 10 states that even though Faria's post has the statement that it doesn't work with 2.21 or higher that it HAS WORKED FOR ME.... EVERYTIME!!!!!

As jacob indicated ... rerun the 1.05 a second time!

My instructions say that your IPL and SPL WILL BOTH CHANGE TO 1.X. If not, then you're doing something wrong, most likely you're not correctly unlocking the CIS and SIM. Often I must downgrade a second time to get the SPL down to 1.x.

btw, to all. If you downgrade to the Button 1.05, IN MY EXPERIENCE, you must rerun the lokiwiz scenario if you want to upgrade immediately to this custom ROM. I've no experience with downgrading to 1.05 and then upgrading to an official ROM. Each time I've tried to downgarde to 1.05, skip the lokiwiz and go straight to a custom ROM my IPL. etc hasn't changed so I had to redo all the steps.

Just for fun I downloaded the Official T-Mobile 2.26 ROM from the ftp site, pulled off to the side of the highway and installed it on my Cingular 8125 which was just running this Molski ROM. After letting it completely installed I pulled off of I95 once again and installed the Molski ROM.... and guess what??? His custom splash screen replaced the T-Mobile splash (a GOOD sign!) and then the extended Rom kicked in and upon it's reboot had the Molski defauly Black Today theme!!!

Sooooo ... nudge, nudge, wink, wink ... install your provider's latest ROM and THEN flash the Molski and it WILL work. If it doesn't it is because you're really not unlocked.

(Notice that I did the T-Mobile on my Cingular 8125 just as a test. I had previously flashed the official Cingular 2.25 the first time)

I hope that THIS particular issue is over as I'm tired of downgrading my device to prove these things...

I've been flashing my rom for a few months now using summiter, shogun and molski's roms, and never had a problem. You guys are great. I don't see why people are having so many problems.

I love the tweaks, it saves me from doing everything myself.

Never mind. I fix it by myself. Since I hate the dial skin, I installed eten+smartdial.cab from another thread, works like a charm.

I am just wondering why people have so big different taste. The included dialer in this ROM doesn't fit in any theme (I mean the style and color, plus it has no smartdialing).

Finally took the plunge. I was a little nervous, but having made a complete backup on an SD Card, I felt confident and I upped my OS from stock 1.6.7.1. This was a stock unbranded Qtek 9100; I unlocked nevertheless. Being a total newbie, I was almost sure that I would brick my unit, and would need to load back the orig rom from the SD card. However, success in my first try. The pause at 94% (I didn't read the text doc) was tense. If any other newbies need help, feel free to PM.

This new rom works great. A lot faster, and in the 12 hours that I've used it, I had only one crash that required a soft-reset, as compared to the stock that would have needed maybe 6-7 resets. I no longer need to wait for ~5 secs after I turn it on before I can have control of the unit. The extra memory is great. I can use my stereo headset (Mot 820), though it won't reconnect unless I refresh the services everytime I switch the headset on - is there a fix for that?

i tried to install first after hard reset on ur rom( RUU_Molski.Biz_226102_22610105_022511_G4_WWE-30MB ) on a G4 device Qtek 9100) the resco keyboard pro and it seems that after evry soft reset it switches me back to the default keyboard
this was not happening with the stock 2.17 rom form qtek why is happening with your rom?
it is set to be as the default input method(the resco keyboard )but still not working

I have a miniSD card and changed the default pircure storage location on sd. When I open the program and try to check the pictures, the program is very very slow, and the pictures did not show up. By EDGE settings I assume (I HATE to assume!) that you mean the E icon instead of the G??? Is purely cosmetic, AFAIK..

From the Show Edge network indicator instead of GPRS
If your network provider supports the Edge network (and your device does as well), you can use the following to show a little 'E' icon instead of 'G' icon when connected to an Edge network:

HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\EnableDifferGprsEdgeIcon = 1 (DWORD decimal)

To disable again:

HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\EnableDifferGprsEdgeIcon = 0 (DWORD decimal)

Note that your device -and- your network operator need to support Edge, otherwise you won't see it. Also note that if you connect to GPRS, you will still see the 'G' icon.

And I was simply repeating Faria's original instructions.

Speaking of Faria I agree with his suggestion, that if you've successfully unlocked your device once, you should attempt to go back to your original ROM if possible. If not, then one should perform the 1.05 downgrade and unlock procedure, twice if the SPL doesn't change (which I reported)

Please give credit where credit is due. Not to me perhaps, but to Faria who is so willing to share his time and knowledge.

After getting it all up and running and taking a second to stand back and admire a great ROM, it appears that I CANT recieve any text messages. I can send them, but I never get them. I have cingular and have installed all the cabs for the Cingular connections. Any ideas why I am having these problems.

I've always had this problem with molski's ROMs...

The phone will randomly speed up all the sounds. It's annoying because I have to restart the phone to make it normal speeds again, but the problem usually comes back.

Any ideas?

I just tried to make it a lil simpler for the peeps here by posting step by step guide including links so people don't say 'but I searched the entire forum' when we both know they didn't. :P so remember peeps without faria's wisdom none of these upgrading issues would be resolved.

it updated fine

By EDGE settings I assume (I HATE to assume!) that you mean the E icon instead of the G??? Is purely cosmetic, AFAIK..

From the Show Edge network indicator instead of GPRS
If your network provider supports the Edge network (and your device does as well), you can use the following to show a little 'E' icon instead of 'G' icon when connected to an Edge network:

HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\EnableDifferGprsEdgeIcon = 1 (DWORD decimal)

To disable again:

HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\EnableDifferGprsEdgeIcon = 0 (DWORD decimal)

Note that your device -and- your network operator need to support Edge, otherwise you won't see it. Also note that if you connect to GPRS, you will still see the 'G' icon.

Follow this exactly!!!

1. Downgrade to the 1.05
2. Download Lokiwiz and extract it to the root of one of your drives, I'm using E: today on my Thinkpad.
3. Copy enablerapi.dll to your device with ActiveSync (don't create a partnership yet, explore as Guest), I just copy to it's root.
4. Execute enablerapi.dll from your device.
5. Open a Command prompt (<Start> <Run> type "cmd" without the quotes and hit <Enter>
6. Go to the root of whatever drive you extracted Lokiwiz to, my case I type "E:" <Enter>
7. Type "U" <Enter> .. wait and you device WILL soft reset. If it doesn't then you're not following instructions!
8. Stay at the Command Prompt!
9. Run Lokiwiz a second time and type "C" <Enter. Your device will reset a second time... if it doesn't you didn't follow instructions.
10. Exit the Command prompt
11. Downgrade to the 1.05 a SECOND time. Upon reboot, if you followed procedure, you will have a IPL and SPL of 1.x

btw, I follow this procedure each time I install a new ROM, unless I know it doesn't have a IPL/SPL loader.

I've done this to over two dozen Cingular and T-Mobile Wizards (all started with either 1.08 or 2.25)

Now I canb go back to sleep!!

When I wake up I'll update my signature....

2. Installed it
3. Re-installed it.

OK, can we finally get off this kick? Nothing personal but please realize that I'm not reporting what I've done to get my device to accept ROM upgrades sucessfully but dozens. I was the sole beta tester for Molski (thanks!) and had to reflash numerous times to fully test his ROM to critique. Since Monday I have downgraded 18 or 19 8125's and MDA's and upgraded them to this new ROM... Not one of the ROM upgrades had a problem and everyone of these users are estatic over the speed, functionality and basic great looks of this ROM. 'Nuff said?

Not sure but maybe it has to do with the ROM Updater utility??? I dunno. Thing is I just always downgrade before testing out a new custom ROM. Probably why you've never seen me post a question regarding my my extended ROM didn't run or I'm "missing" some apps or the splash screen not what was intended. The way I know this is because I have seen what happens to me personally months ago when I switched from my Blue Angel (where I meet the talented Mr Faria) to my Wizard. Trust me, I think I've been there and done that :D

Normally after resetting my device I have 22 RAM and 21 Prog mb free. I have installed:

SPB Pocket Plus
SPB Backup
Common Time mNotes
SOTI Pocket Controller
SBSH Pocketweather
PocketMax Phonealarm
Ilium Newsbreak
MemAid
Wisbar
TomTom
Miomap

which run without problems on this ROM. Only after being connected to active sync and having some phonecalls the RAM drops to 14. After trying to recover it with close all and reclaim RAM (MemAid) it stays at 15mb.

This can only be resetted with softreset.

This problem only occurs with this ROM, even the previous one. If then Miomap is running the "thing" reports a memory full error and crashes.

Does anyone have this problem and/or knows how this can be solved.
