wat d hell is backup batt

my o2 xda mini sometimes shows d backup batt 100% and sometimes 0% ...i tried to upgrade rom frm 1.11 to 1.13 ver but i didnt helped me .....plzz tell me wat to do to come out frm this error due to which my o2 is not getting on more that 2 min ...it gets auto shutdown and sometimes restart

dont think its a ROM problem. just get it checked at the service centre.

from what u said abt ur backup battery it seems that something inside ur phone is malfunctioning. it looks as if the battery is not accessible. otherwise there shud be no reason why ur backup battery shud be at 0%. the backup battery will only be used if ur main battery is flat. is ur main battery fine? if ur main battery if fine then ur backup mite need replacement.

Anyway I can tell you where the battery is at least. First disassemble your Magician until you reach page 15 of this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=234650). Now refer to the picture below, which is the same as the picture on page 15 except the speaker has been moved. Notice what's been circled? Thats the battery!

Don't ask me how the heck you're going to get it out though, or what type it is. Its a NiMH. Thats all I know.

I had the same problem.

All i did was pry out the backup battery and clean the contacts. When i removed the battery the contacts had some sort of corrosion on it, a simple electric contact cleaner did the job.
Goodluck finding a replacement, here in australia not even the speacialist stock that button battery.
