Hi Guys
I am new to this forum and have a few quick question. I have purchased a i-mate jasjam. I currently have a different rom to the one on the i-mate site. Mine is as follow:
Rom: 1.31.305.2
Rom date: 09/08/06
Radio version: 1.20.31.10
Ext Rom: 1.31.305.103.
Now I want too downgrade to a different boot loader so I can unlock it. What is the best method to do this and will it work on my device. Also is there any way which I can back up the existing rom, and also should I use a different rom then the one I have as i-mate know nothing about the current rom on my jasjam?

1) Flash this ROM, it has CDL__001 (i-Mate jasjam WWE CID):
ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Hermes/Shipped_Complete_Updates/JASJAM_WWE_1.20.305.3_1.20.305.104_1.07.03.10_ship .exe
2) Unlock:

Your existing rom is here, no need to back up first:
ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Hermes/Shipped_Complete_Updates/JASJAM_telstra_1.31.305.2_1.31.305.103_1.20.31.10_ ship.zip

You can flash ANY rom you want after you unlock:

After you flash the imate 1.20 rom you will have bootloader 1.04, then you can unlock safely :)

Ok i have tried and put another sim in my fone and it worked straight away with out having to unlock or do any thing. Is there any benefit for me to still downgrade to the different imate rom?

If it's already unlocked there will be not much benefit for you... only SuperCID if you plan to switch between different roms, but wait until the next version of the unlocker which will keep SuperCID after rom upgrades (current version 1 doesn't).

So: no need for you to do much... you're on the latest radio and your device is unlocked :)

hehe :D :p

I don't know if there will be any WinCE 6 ROMs for the Hermes in the future, but here at XDA-Developers we will put all our effort into running it if it is not "officially" supported by HTC ;)

BTW, now we should better concentrate the efforts into running Linux on the Hermes (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Linux) and forget about WM6

Not booting yet on the Hermes, but it runs quite well on other devices like Universal and BlueAngel. cr2 is doing a great job with the Universal if you like linux you should see how it runs there!

I hope someone joins the Linux development for the Hermes soon and we can have at least a booting kernel with minimal hardware support as starting point :)

Ohhh cr2!!!! same Samsung CPU and patched haret!!! Must try that when I reach home, thanks for the pointer... will keep you updated :D

EDIT: Actually couldn't resist and tried it from work ;)
Seems that patched gnuharet for the G500 is working fine on the Hermes, but kernel doesn't boot, it freezes at the red-eye penguin screen. I guess I'll have to tweak 'default.txt' a bit, but still have to investigate how... cr2: expect my questions on IRC soon :p
