Does anyone else have this problem? You know, when you are on a call and your ear seems to independently either dial the last number you called or, in my case, open the clock screen?

Does anyone have a solution? I was hoping there was tweak or something so that when you started a call the touch screen was locked unless you pressed a hardware button or a button on the screen.

Any folks know of this or willing to take a stab at writing such a thing.

What you could do, it's what I did, I installed Phonealarm which has a function to "blank screen" as soon as you're connected. I had the same problem as you did. This solved my problem, I skinned it "media phone" so it even looks good.

Hi,
just press the Power button while in a call, this will lock the screen.
