Dear Experts,
I have serached many many forum, asked many many people, but I still can't get the answer. Hope some Expert can answer my simple question.
I converted many movies to 640x480 (tried 480x360 also), and in different format (e.g. avi, wmv, ...), when I play it on the Universal, lagging happened. I have tried many bitrate and frame rate, but it's lag also.
Does Universal support to play 640x480 movie? Or it only can play 320x240?
I am crazy now, I never play a smooth movie.
I have used TCPMP and Wondows Media Player, but its failed also.
REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT'S THE PROBLEM HAPPENED!!!
HOPE SOME EXPERT CAN ANSWER ME.
THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH!!!!

Dear Expert,
I am really thankyou for your reply, I have tried hard to solve this problem.
1.I tried to use TCPMP (the latest version) and windows media player, but get the same result. Maybe TCPMP have a worse result.
2.I tried many different bitrate from 200 - 800, but get the same result also.
3.I am not sure what codec I use, but I usually converted to wmv files, and have a few time converted to avi files for xvid mpeg-4 codec.
4.I am not sure what you mean, but my eyes is in black colour.
Hope you can help me to solve the problem, thank you very much.

For speed and conveniance i usually use Windows Media Encoder and use one of the inbuilt Pocket PC profiles.
Some people rave on about using a 640x480 resolution, but to be honest, on a 3.5 inch screen, 320x240 (or whatever the converted aspect ratio is) is enough, plus the file sizes are a lot smaller.
As far as the lag goes I think it may have more to do with what other software you use and where on the Uni it's installed. If you have programs which constantly access the SD card as well as TCPMP or whatever you use you will get judders.
I have cooked my ROM so none of the manufacturers stuff is on it. All I have installed is:
Wisbar Advance
SPB Pocket Plus
TCPMP
Tomtom 6
Resco Explorer
Softwinter Storage Tools
All are installed on the device and I don't have any problems with playback.

Hello,
May I asked how many storage memory and program memory left before you play the movie? I have not installed a program that is assess to the SD card. And I can play a smmoth 320x240 movie with both TCPMP and WMP, but WMP cannot play with full screen.
Thank You very much.
