Hello world.

Already some months ago, when I got my TyTN, I noticed, that when a SMS was arriving the phone would light up the display, but the SMS would only be displayed and notified after 10-20 seconds.

Today I switched to the latest Radio ROM (1.20.31.10) and now it takes even more until the phone has processed a SMS. Now I have to wait eagerly at least 30 seconds, watching the illuminated display, until I can read a message.

Is this a common phenomenon on the TyTN?

Well I haven't upgraded any radio-roms (to afraid :-)) but lighting up and then around 10 secs until I see the message.

Same thing with MMS's and sometimes even calls (but only around 5 secs)...
So I think it's a feature ;)

If this is a multipart SMS, the phone turns on to start receiving the first part, but shows it only after receiving the last part.

Shame on me!

Thank you Lurker. Those two SMS were acutally multipart with arround 180 bytes each, but I didn't realize that, as both SMS were written in capitals and looked like one SMS. So the suspected extra delay doesn't come from the new radio ROM but from the multipart messages.
