Interesting Discussion there in the WLAN Topic ;) Sounds so familiar ^^
I really Hope that T-Mobile did not order a device that is built by their individual wishes and has WLAN disabled by hardware. I don't Know how much T-Mobile Netherlands and T-Mobile Germany cooperate, regarding their "Buying Management" Maybe the Fact that NL Artemis comes with WLAN is sign enough ;)

It does not work for me :(
I can see a new folder "Ext_ROM2" and its content but cannot write inside nor copy files from it to an other place.

Didn't work for me. Total Commander worked originally but now I can't see any files in there even though if I try to replace them it says it can't overwrite them.

Probably a stupid question, did you switch it Off before you soft reset? - Mike

... experienced the same problem. However, found a temporal solution by trying to format the Extended_ROM2 storage. Although the formatting does not work (i.e. an error message "Can't format selected storage card. Check if your card is unlocked" appears), the files in Extended_ROM are back after this unsuccessful action until a next soft reset; then the files disappear again. I reckon it could be another way of Extended_ROM unlocking protection. (???)

When you unlock ext rom, basically you change security on partition.
On compact III this leads to some files to be deleted from ext rom.
Be carefull with this.

Hello guys,
I have a HTC P3300 (Artemis) and yesterday executed the program refered in this thread to unlock the extended ROM.
I was able to saw the Extended ROM and I did a copy of all files to my PC, but 5 minuts later I cant see anything in the extended ROM.
All files disapeared. there is nothing in the extended.
I did a soft reset and a Hard Reset (error!!) and obviusly the Artemis doen't load the extended ROM files because they have dissapeared.
I tryed to copy the extended ROM files from my computer to te extended Rom again but it seems to be writting protected.
Someone can Help Me?
The files in my Extended ROM (Spanish version) were:
ChgScutAttri.exe
Config.txt
MP_CVSDcpl_20060718.cab
MP_TT6_Voice10_ESN.cab
MP_ttn.cab
PP_DefaultPage_WWE.CAB
PP_ExtVer.xml
PP_RemoveBTlnk.cab
ST_PatchPeripheral.cab
and the Config.txt content is:
LOCK:Enabled
EXEC:\Windows\cusTSK.exe \Windows\HTC_Default.tsk
CAB: \Extended_ROM\MP_CVSDcpl_20060718.cab
XML: \Windows\MP_MMS3.5_HTC_Generic_Artemis_060818.xml
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PP_DefaultPage_WWE.CAB
XML: \Extended_ROM\PP_ExtVer.xml
CAB: \Windows\PP_CommManager_Patch_060808.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\MP_ttn.cab
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PP_RemoveBTlnk.cab
CAB: \Extended_ROM\ST_PatchPeripheral.cab
CAB: \Extended_ROM\MP_TT6_Voice10_ESN.cab
EXEC:\Extended_ROM\ChgScutAttri.exe
LOCKisabled
RST: Reset
I have copied all the files to a temporary directory in the PDA and tried to execute all of them in the order of the config.txt file, but I can't execute the XLM files. When I execute them they open in the Pocket InternetExplorer and seems to be changes to introduce in the registry.
This is the content of the PP_ExtVer.xml (for example):
<wap-provisioningdoc>
<characteristic type="Registry">
<characteristic type="HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM" translation="filesystem" >
<parm name="ExtROMVersion" datatype="string" value="1.12.412.101" translation="filesystem" />
</characteristic>
</characteristic>
</wap-provisioningdoc>
Can someone help me to execute this two XML files to do that xhanges in my registry?
Can someone help me to put back to the original situation the Extended ROM?
Thank you!!!

Hi Stoper,
It seems that we all have the same problem.... :-(

I really am sorry putting you through all this trouble due to this unlocker!!!
The only way i found to rectify this problem is to reflash an original rom, e.g. from the wiki here. if you get "wrong model id" than you are not flashing the same rom as before.(e.g. orig german now english language)
remedy would be to cid-unlock your phone and than be able to flash mentioned roms.

Thanks for the response. I guess that means ther is no free unlocker available.
Do we have any info on what is the 'best' rom to flash...or how they compare in terms of stability and overall performance?
Cheers,

quite right, there are people working on it....but if its tomorrow or next year...who can say?
if have tried both orig. german-, tmouk-, and dopod rom and find the latter to be fast as lightning in comparison to the others. compare the versions in my signature to the others and afaik you will see this is the latest rom.
