Cid Unloking G4 (.0001)

all famous coockers just jumping around abt this issue, but no one tells an exact answer, is there any posibility to unlock G4 2.xx.0001. But main thing that pisses me off that if any of them will lose thier phones, they never will get a G3 device, cuz there's no vendor who manufacturing this version phones anymore. and after that they will focus on coocking ROMs so they can be puted to G4 wizards. this address : http://www.imei-check.co.uk/ only do sim unloking for G4. but some ppl claim that there is a way to unlock but no1 start a thread abt it.

and the question: were's a truth ? were's a information for ppl to whom u do this work that brings no money?

If it is really possible, we won't have so many people complaining about their G4 being bricked... so no, we haven't found a way to CID unlock G4s as of now...

I unlock my Wizard (G4) using this procedure, Yesterday. Now I'm able to install any ROM including the greatest Faria(3.0.0.0) ROM.

I like to thanks the support and effort of our cookers.

i found about 4 ppl here who break G4 device, including me :). i think this is a big number. but anyway all we have to do is wait , maybe some1 will turn his knowledge into this problem. and we'll unleash the power of this masterpiece device :)

its been tried and tested hence why g4 can install my rom.this does not mean that you can install other rom cookers rom.i have a way of cooking roms that are compatible with g4.
but you will atleast be able to to flash any provider rom.make sure it is above aku2.never try to install a rom with ipl/spl 1xxxx in a g4.you will brick it,even if it has been unlocked.

pearhaps i'm the 5th person who break his G4 they change it to me and they gave me one with SPL/IPL 2.21 no 000 neither 0001 i think it's G3 i'm i wrong ?

ok now i'm sure i have a G3 with Molski2.26 SPL/IPL 2.26
can i downgrade it and CID unlock it without probleme ? because i remember SPL / IPL = or >2.21 can not be CID unlocked using Lockwiz2b !!

if no can i install Faria 3.00 ROM and return back to any rom 2.xx ?

I unlocked mine at imei-check yesterday and upgraded to the latest Faria ROM no problem.

I'm surprised no-one has found a free way of doing it yet, clearly it's possible, hopefully someone in the know will get lumped with a G4 and be forced to find a way :)

I have no programing knowledge, but it seems like someone who does and has a G4 should be able to reverse engineer that utility that imei-check uses to figure out what they are doing?

You guys that have unlocked your G4, are you able to do a ROM backup to the SD card?

Me too yesterday did CID unlock my G4 in imei-check.co.uk and flashed Faria's ROM. Now I can install any AKU 2.X / 3.X rom (shipped/custom) without IPL/SPL.

Once a G4 has been CID unlocked, can you flash a ROM with an IPL/SPL in it, as long as its not a 1.xx?

Basically can a G3 IPL/SPL be put onto a G4 device after the G4 has been CID unlocked, or will G4 users always have to use ROMs with the IPL/SPL removed from them?

THAT's what you CAN'T do. Don't use a G3 ROM on a G4 device. It's not the IPL/SPL that's the problem. It's the bootloader. If you flash with a rom that's not compatible with a G4 device, and your G4 is unlocked, it will flash. But the next time you try to boot it it will not boot. That's because the bootloader for a G4 is different than a G3.

I paid imei-check to unlock my G4. I thought like you did, that I could now flash any rom. So I did. Then I bricked it because I flashed a G3 rom with a G3 bootloader. Silly me.

I understand from reading this forum that G3 devices can have their IPL/SPL changed whereas the G4 devices cannot. I am a bit unclear if G4 devices can upgrade updwards (someone please confirm) but I know they cannot go down to IPL 1.xx

So the difference between G3 & G4 updates is that G4 updates do not have IPL/SPL components. I have taken a G3 Mr Clean update, unpacked it and repacked it without the IPL/SPL and it worked without any problems on my G4. Details on how to do this are in this forum.

Ok I am stuck for sure. I have Cingular 8125 with stock ipl/spl 2.25. I wanted to install faria Aku 3.2 rom and followed the instructions to a T. I downgraded to "CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE," Then CID unlocked my phone with Lockwiz 0.2 by placing enablerapi.cab in phone and executing it. All went well. Then I upgraded to Moleski's "RUU_Molski.Biz_AKU2.3-226102_22610105_024711_WWE-30MB-CF2," and then tried to upgrade to Faria's "FARIA-HTC-WIZARD -3.2-RC1-8MB Rom." (Even removed sim, and hardreset as per instructions) Everything seem like it was going smooth. After installation, the only thing that changed was the flash screen nothing else. So I tried to flash back to the stock ipl/spl 2.25 and I get an error message regarding the nk.nbf file. Now, no matter what rom I try to install it stays at ipl: 1.01, spl: 2.26, GSM: 1.12.10, OS:1.5.4.2. Where did i go wrong.

IPL/SPL is the bootloader and bootloader is the IPL/SPL.
