Could someone send a file with extension unl, which was normally provided by imei-check to unlock your device.
It may bring a good idea to spl modification.
Thanks in advance.

CID unlock is not the same as SIM unlock.
if we talk about imei-check service they do the both.
you can read it here:
http://www.imei-check.co.uk/c3unlock.php
you can use any sim card.
Good job I saw this thread, I was going to do mine tonight!!
I'll wait and be a team-player.:p

I think if you're able to flash your device with a ROM from HTC, DOPOD or O2... its CID unlocked...

Duhh... wouldn't it be better to find out before trying to flash any ROM? Suppose you think the device is unlocked but actually it isn't, then you might end up with a bricked phone.

CoolGadget,
If I had the original T-mobile Rom then I would've just taken the risk but I don't and that's why I'm a little worried.
I'm still looking for it but it seems like it doesn't exist anywhere!
If anyone can help me out then I'd really appreciate it.
Regards.

The original T-Mobile ROM is available on T-Mobile website amongst many others. I really dont think there is another way to confirm you have CID-unlocked your set, unless you flash it.
Though the report of many who have used imei-check seems to suggest it gets CID-Unlocked:cool:

I allways thought it would be possible by running the mtty program. Wasn't the command Info 2 for getting the status? Correct me if I'm wrong.
I haven't tried it though, because my phone is certainly locked and I don't want to pay for getting it unlocked.

Guys thanks for your replys. I've managed to track down the original Tmobile ROM for the MDA 3 (thanks to some guys here). so now I'll be using imei check to unlock it, once done, I'll go ahead and install any ROM other than Tmobile and if it works then I'll know my device is CID unlocked. If it doesnt then I have the Tmobile ROM to fall back on.
Hopefully it will work otherwise I'll be getting in touch with imei check immediately!
Thanks for your help guys.
Regards

Guys I've just used imei check's unlocking tool for the MDAC3 and it all seemed to have went well.
I downloaded one of HTC's Rom and tried to install it just to see what happens and it all went well up to the point where the screen goes off and the percentage window shows up and it gets to 2% and then it throws ERROR [244] : INVALID MODEL ID:eek:
What the hell does this mean? My MDAC3 isn't super CID unlocked?
I thought it usually says INVALID VENDOR ID?
Or is this anything to do with the fact that the MDAC3 doesn't have built in WiFi and therefore is considered a different model altogether by the RUU updater? If this is the case then I guess there is no way of knowing if my device is super CID unlocked or not as it is the only one without WiFi!
Any thoughts?

There are different models of Artemis:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Artemis_Versions
The main difference between MDA Compact 3 and HTC P3300 is the missing Wifi on the MDA.
My question: Is it possible to flash o2 XDA Orbit (ARTE200) with a ROM from HTC P3300 (ARTE100)?
This would become important with the upcoming WM6 release.

yes there is no prob to flash it, but U need hexedit both upgrade.exe (or i dont know whats the name of upgrade file), and upgrade.nbh (use search to find howto do it if i remember thread was started by cosinusx) for example I ve on my o2orbit dopod rom
btw: esack You are neibghour, i was born in Bratislava and vienna is about 60miles away :-)

Yes I understand that there are different models of the Artemis and it just didnt cross my mind that it would be a problem but obviously I was wrong!
I dont see why you cant flash a HTC ROM on your orbit as they are practically the same in terms of hardware.
I'm thinking if I should sell my MDAC3 and get an Orbit? I had the Tytn and the Trinity and I never liked using WiFi as it drained the battery way too much! The only reason I would be buying an orbit would be so that I could use HTC ROMS and I'd feel a bit more comfortable as far as the WM6 upgrade is concerned!
Anyone here think I should sell it and get an Orbit?

If I were you I would ask myself: do I really need WM6 (or any other than the original ROM)? Or it is just that you always want the latest gadgets, no matter what?
I think that selling the MDAc3 and buying an Orbit will cost you some money, probably you will get less for the MDA secondhand than what the new Orbit will cost.

you can flash any arte**** rom to mdac3 or orbit, there is no prob 2 flash htc3300 rom 2 orbit or vice versa. but u have hexedit roms and upgrade sw, as I posted above. btw if U dont like wi-fi why to swap mdac3 for orbit? they are exactly the same except for wi-fi, and if u dont use it there is no reason to do that. only mine opinion.

Grun your definitely right buddy, I had a look on eBay and the original P330 is around £400! Way too much!
phsnake, the only reason why I wanted to exchange the MDAC3 was so that I could use HTC Roms and I was thinking it would be easier (maybe) for the future when WM6 update is released!
WiFi I really don't use it because I just don't like it and it kills the battery! I have a cheap internet package with tmobile with unlimited use and GPRS does use up some battery, but I still have enough juice left to make it home, but with WiFi, its shocking as I've tested this with both Tytn and Trinity! Artemis might do better as it has a slower processor I guess but still I really don't need WiFi.
THERE'S ME THINKING THAT IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE TO FLASH HTC ROMS ON THE MDAC3!
Please phsnake could you tell me more about this? I don't know what you have to edit and what is SW?
Is there some sort of tutorial or something anywhere?
Would be grateful as always!
Kind regards and sleeping time for me :(

use the ninth button (search). http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=290241
btw once more - U can flash any ROM to MDAC3 made for Artemis(HTC3300) or Hero (T-Mobile MDAC3), but it needs to be SuperCID unlocked (www.imei-check.co.uk) - it'll cost U 20GBP

That command would be Info 2, but no need to try cause it doesn't work on the Artemis.

Just be careful guys. I actually contacted those people
imei-check.co.uk
He was a very kind person but after I paid the money he asked my name, my address on PayPal etc. That sound to be a bit Nigerians scam emails. I am not prepared to share my personal items with anyone even I believe it has not much value in it. Actually he returned my money, so there is no problem left for me. It is your turn to try.
