The A2DPFix.cab and changes to the registry fixed the sound skip problem with my Dell BH200 Bluetooth headphones and my Cingular 8525 (HTC TyTn) cell phone.

The patch fixed AD2P skipping on my magician (I-mate Jam WM2003SE) with the MS stack extension (see this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=249219&highlight=pocket+music)).
However, the battery consumption is a killer for me, I had to remove it. If there were a fix to turn it on on demand it would be a godsend.
I had to manually edit the registry to remove it. It wouldn't uninstall automatically.
To Sleuth: Thanks for your work so far. Please add a way to turn it on on demand, or release the source so that someone else can do it!

You can use DogFredTask Manager to start and stop the service: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=280104
You can also create links as it admits command line to start / stop services (the only thing is that stop from the command line doesn't work currently, he will correct it in the next version).

My Trinity worked perfectly with A2DP for months, but when I moved to the new 4.30 Schaps rom it started to have skippings after 10/15 minutes.
After lots of tests (uninstalling programs, monitoring registry changes, etc.) I have tested other music players, like Coreplayer, and it works like a charm during all the day.
So I think it's related with Audio Manager last versions (with older ones it was working ok).

I tried many things I read in this thread and also other threads and forums with no luck. Sometimes I had more or less skipping, but I could never eliminate it completely. When I installed the task manager I saw the A2DP patch use 53% of the CPU and when removed the patch the CPU comes back to 7%. So finally I uninstalled all and I just installed Pocket Player 3.51 and finally!!!! the skipping dissapeared completely. I went to Advanced options and changed some things, Decoder priority to Highest, Fill input buffer before playing, Use fast input buffering, buffer size to 1MB and auto buffer to 5000msec. I dont know if just one of those parameters is the reason of the success, or all, or a mix of some, no idea, but I can tell that without any patch or any registry configuration, with just this player I got the solution.
I hope this can help to someone that is suffering like I was before. Luck.

Hello
Here are my settings for a french touch cruise and SE HBH-DS980.
The original settings were :
Bit pool 64, max bit pool 64, Use joint stereo 1
I just changed for
Bit pool 58, max bit pool 80, Use joint stereo 1
and It work fine since. If I increase Bit pool to 60, the skip problem appears again. So...
Thanks for all of you that showed me the way :)

I am having a HTC Touch
hey ppl thanx a lot for this release.. it helped me discover that my A2DP can have a software problem.. i was thinking of replacing my bluetooth headphone but later realised that it is working fine on other mobile phones so was going to give my PDA for servicing or replacement...
U PPL ROCK....
One question is which all devices does this software support ?? is it only HTC Devices?

Hi, in first post, Sleuth mentions that Use Joint Stereo should be 0.
What's this value for anyway?
I just applied all the settings and the patch, and it's all fine so far. :)
Thanks Sleuth!

Hi you all,
I can't get it to work on my Trinity at all.
I am trying to change registry settings, but actually, I have two questions regarding this:
1) When I change a value in PHM regedit, is asks "save changes?", I tick "yes". Is at this point in time the value already used by the system,or do I have to make a soft reset every time I try a new value?
2) Do I have to extra-save the registry? The thing is, when I close and reopen the prog, the changed value is still there, but when I softreset, the value is changed back to the old one. Does this come from the A2DPfix? How can I permanently keep the personally changed settings?
Thanks for your help. I still believe that I can influence the hissing at least a bit by changing the registry, but first, I have to know HOW to do this.
IsiT_de...
[Edit]
I have put the autostart-entry fpr A2DP-fix somewhere else. Values still go back. Deinstalled A2DPfix. Softreset. Some of the values stay (joint stereo). Others don't (BitPool, MaxSupportedBitPools, always go back to 58/80). Please tell me how I can be sure that the changed values actually are kept and used. Otherwise, all changing is senseless, if these changes never reach the goal!
[Edit #2]
I installed the older TweakUI. It also gives me the possibility of changing these parameters, and they actually stay changed.
BUT, I tried several random changes, and no success. So here is the next question: How do I change wich parameter in which direction and with which "distance" in order to find a working set? I am definitely not going to try out all possible combinations, with a soft reset, it takes more than a minute to check only one, and there are probably 100.000s of combinations.
How did the folks that found a working set advance?
AND: What the h... are these parameters good for? Is there a set that should work in every case, even with bad sound, mono and making the machine slow as hell? What are the maximum numbers I can fill in?
So many questions...

Hi...
Here are my settings for a XDA Orbit II and Plantronics A590.
The original settings were :
Bit Pool : 64
Max Bit Pool : 64
Use Joint Stereo : 1
I just changed for;
Bit Pool : 58
Max Bit Pool : 80
Use Joint Stereo : 0
It work fine... No skipping.. Only registry settings solved the issue... i don't install any patch or something...
Thanks for this great trick...

Hi Sleuth255...
I know this will wound odd but here goes anyeway... I've tried everything I can find on the boards to get audio from an APACHE (I know EV set) to a Pioneer AVICN4 car system. It detects my device just fine and plays but the skipping is awful. I've tried the regitry edits on the bit rates and I suspect something like HTweakC for an Apache might help adjust the quality of the audio.
But I'm wondering if anyone has found a way to get good audio from an XV 6700 to a bluetooth audio player by pioneer--particulaly the AVIC N4 device. Pioneer tech support is pretty clueless.
Thanks for your help--an y assistance appreciated!

Thanks Sleuth for a great cab!
Here are the steps I've done repeatedly and I'm still skipping:
- ensured A2DPstart is in the startup folder
- I see services.exe running in task mgr
- after a *hard reset* I directly installed your cab, soft reset, applied
your "latest breaking news" changes, soft reset
My phone is the Kaiser with Shifu's 27 May 2009 M2D ROM. My HT820 headset has *never* once skipped before and after your patch, but when I'm listening to music in the car it still does before and after. In the car, I have the Blackberry Bluetooth audio gateway for music, and for phone calls, my altima has a built in car kit. So in the car, I'm connected to *two* devices automatically, and that must be the culprit for skipping.
Any ideas on how I can remedy this?
Thanks,
David
