The device is ORANGE branded. So, we can expect something from Orange UK soon....

I'ts probably not his own device, i think he attended some trade show or an internal presentation or demonstration of some kind.

Too bad he didn't have Buzz's invisible rom dumper (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=238945) at hand...

Could it be the reason why HTC had not released any AKU 3.x upgrade yet?

All I can say is just let those OEM's and other people give it to us before Sinterklaas (dutch Santa) leaves.

Ask the guy to send in this phone we'll buy a new one for him ;)

Encore ! Nog ! Bis ! More !

Surely this is very big news? I hope we can be kept updated on whether a rom can be acquired. I remember the fiasco over WM5 for the Magician... the community went crazy waiting for further news from a number of leads that turned out to lead nowhere.

Sorry Guy, but HTC is a pain in the ass about Upgrating OS. Just look at the past, THEY NEVER RELEASE A WINDOWS MOBILE CORE VERSION UPGRADE. They just want you to buy a new device... as always.. Mayve someone can grab directly from the device, I will talk tomorow with Microsoft Mobiles BG, maybe He can help us... but HTC? ha ha ha, they are savy

Yet Crossbow apparently exists for the Hermes. At MEDC 2K6, all the M$ engineers were sporting Wizards. The Hermes front camera plays well with M$ 2K7 collaboration plans too so they may be behind the Crossbow development on this hardware. This could trump the Upgrade-hardware-to-obtain-crossbow rationale...

I hear that AKU3.3 will arrive just after christmas for the hermes.

Don't mean to poop on everyone's parade, but I can take pictures of my PDA running Crossbow, too. There are screenshots of Crossbow available on the web. All I would have to do is download one to my PDA, open the image in Resco Photo viewer, and make the image full screen...
I hope this isn't a fake.

I'll be at CES the week of Jan 7. If there's a crossbow for Hermes, I'll see it and touch it there.

I'll bring Buzz's ROM dumper too & if I come back with something then we'll have some real incentive to get the nbf flash issue solved :)

This is a hardware issue and not a hermes issue. Contact the manufacturer of the device and get a replacement.

I seriously believe that we will never see an official Crossbow update for the Hermes.
I remember back in my Blue Angel days they had a Blue Angel device at one of these shows running WM5. There was never an official release for it however someone did managed to dump the ROM onto SD and released here on XDA Dev :)

Here's hoping.....

The dates on his screenshots are yesterdays, I too suspected a hoax, but now I am confident they are real.

I think they will release a update for the Hermes but it will cost between $29.99 - $99.99 and it will be locked to the IMEI number of one phone.

I think you guys are getting your hopes up. As someone pointed out earlier HTC isnt an upgrade kind of company. And to be honest I've seen this before with the Moto MPX220. They where floor models of it running wm5 after its release. Sure enough the wm5 mpx220 never saw the light of day. The MPX220 was simplely being used as a test platform for wm5 since it was one of the latest smartphone hardwares available. HTC Hermes is probably the same thing. Latest piece of hardware to show off crossbow, its not ment to test crossbow on the hermes.

I think this is probably just like when WinMob's engineers were using the BlueAngel as the testbed for the WM5 platform, and they chose the Hermes. If we could get the WM5 BA ROM up and running, I'm sure we'll get the WM6 (Crossbow) ROM for Hermes up and running as well. 'Qapla!!!

This is an HERMES HARDWARE ISSUE, right?. Hermes is at risk of SA now, Crossbow or not. Only if you discover the Hermes screen alignment problem (SA) in the first 15 days theu will replace. Otherwise they patch your phone, and you will have more or less 50% probability to have the SA problem again!

I heard from MS rumors about Crossbow... someone says it is something "cosmetic" just to accomplish some VISTA features and style, may be it will be available as upgrade for "high end" Phones...

From what I read, Crossbow has some significant upgrades, such as increasing the amount of memory an application can use, as well as the amount of simultaneous processes that can be running. It is supposedly going to be a huge leap forward for the Pocket PC platform.

Not to mention the new features Crossbow and Exchange 07 will unlock.

I hear that you can set out of office, empty deleted items and also search the server for archived email.

There was also mention of sharepoint access direct from Pocket Outlook.

Some say that the first device out will be a smartphone? Anyone know which one?

well... You are right. this is one big crap procedure, but:

treat it as an information source-

"This Thread is dedicated to WM5.0 users whom are currently using
"Wizard" (Dopod 838 not 838 PRO ) / "Universal" (Dopod 900) (O2 Executive) / "Tornado" (Dopod 577) ONLY" no Herm yet... :(

"System requirements for 6.0 are the same as the previous version: 64 MB ROM/64 MB RAM and a 200MHz processor. Due to ongoing optimization efforts, the overall system speed of 6.0 is slightly faster than 5.0, which is always a nice surprise for any new OS release." following link#1 on that page

seems to be quite obvious to me, that it is possible to upgrade our tytns with this os. question is ... when?

making money on theft is a bad thing, but be honest with me...

after reading this, wouldn't You want to upgrade Your device with it??

well I would.

the TYtN is fast-ish atm, with WM6 it should be pretty funky!! Hope the ROM does leak out soon :P a new 'Today-Screen-Friggin'-re-vamp" would be nice!!

Will crossbow on TYtN include all the hardware buttons working? and the screen rotating-function thingy. Because without them its pointless upgrading :P

I am not sure if this is real, I checked "eMule" (search program "Crossbow"), and found :

WM6 Crossbow (WWE) for HTC Wizard v5.2.660.part*.rar

Well, I dont own Wizard nor Hermes yet.
