Do you offer discounts to XDA Members?

By the way, Amazon in Germany is selling the Trinity for $590 (no tax).

Is this a good reseller? US warranty?

I was waiting for the bugs to get worked out but I'm starting to twitch :)

I ordered mine last night through www.smart-mobile-gadgets.com.. He had my order packed up with the UPS tracking info before I even woke up in the morning. I say that's pretty good! I've known many people on the various boards who have purchased through SMG and have been very happy with the service.

It's worth to remember that items entering Europe from USA will have to go through customs and import tax must be paid.

Pretty steep price in the U.S., since the Trinity costs 528 dollars in Germany, ex tax and shipping :)))

Where? I suppose it is with the German ROM only??

I had a horrific experience with Eten when my Torq P120 died. It took 10 weeks to get a refurb! Frankly, it drove me back to Cingular and I currently have an 8525. The phone I really want is the Trinity though. How do you handle warranty / service with HTC?

@Matterhorn
From current stock, so far black version German ROM only:
www.pdamax.de/
www.mobile-joker.de
If you live outside EU, i.e. near the Matterhorn in Switzerland, you can reclaim German tax of 16% included in all prices. Some dealers might be able to source an English ROM version from their distributor. Good luck.

PS: Just saw your signature, with Swisscom it is clear where you live... :-) But the price in at least the French part of Switzerland is not so bad either, around 550 euros incl. 7,6% (still?) tax...

Yes, indeed Eten is a bad choice, their only repair center is in Taiwan...they have to get their act together, the phones are quite good now (i.e. X500 with GPS). HTC on their U.S. website says they only accept repairs sent in through the operators (i.e. Cingular), so you might wanna call them to check the service policy when bought from a respected CA. dealer...

Thanks a lot for the links, Infotec is reputable? The dollar is so low at the moment that CHF 849. = USD 713. So actually USD 649. with no tax and free shipping is not too bad. Of course in the US, you have to order from another state than the one that you live in order to buy tax free.

Lucas0511

@Matterhorn
Wow, you are right, the dollar is 1.33 to the euro. So the Trinity would actually cost 573 dollars in Germany, w/o tax. With shipping, customs and Swiss MwSt./VAT it would still make sense to order from Germany, with Euro warranty. Infotec has a quite good name, and they report 100 Trinity in stock...

But up to you, I for my part, and as owner of a Tytn, will wait for a Trinity with official GPS release, if the "standalone" GPS is indeed picking up a live satellite signal. Otherwise I can wait for HTC´s new lineup for Q2 2007, coming here in March 2007, for CeBIT.

Would someone be interested in organizing a group buy? We could have someone in Germany ship the devices to the US, I'll flash the units with English ROM and ship them out to the buyers. It's a win win situation. I'm sure we could get a pretty good price for the units in Germany if we bought them wholesale.

At the moment no-one has successfully changed the Trinity ROM, so your plan sounds a bit adventurous, particularly for those who should trust you sending the stuff back :D

Adventurous indeed. Well, I was blinded by the beauty of the machine and wasn't thinking clearly. Can you blame me? Is there any way we could get Trinities (plural?) with ROM in English from Germany? Would someone like to look into it, locally? I'm just thinking outloud here.

Germans are flexible, it would be absolutely no problem to source English-ROM versions in Germany. But the major issue here is HTC´s stand on service and repair. HTC America would not (yet) accept a HTC machine bought in Europe, for repair under warranty. Their website even now still states that they do not accept any HTC for repair other than the ones bought via operators like Cingular. But that might just be an old text. Once the ladies and gents from HTC Taiwan get their warranty act together, things will change. We are one world...:-)

Herb, earlier in the thread I agreed that the dollar is now 1.33 to the euro, unbelieveable...

Best prices for Trinity from real stock, but black only, are currently 499 to 501, incl. 16% German VAT. But I assume you buy VAT-free directly from a Euro wholeseller, so you could achieve a similar price like in Germanys shops, around 550 euros incl. VAT max. But you know better, I am not a retailer... Anyway, you have the Trinity available now, and that is what should count for early adopters in the U.S. Of course the warranty thing would be interesting to know...

Not to steal anyones thunder but if ya want a white one as I did I found one on this site: http://www.phonesource-usa.com (http://www.phonesource-usa.com/cell-phone-336-cheap/HTC-P3600-black-&-white.php) $629 + shipping. If ya want black then www.smart-mobile-gadgets.com (http://www.smart-mobile-gadgets.com/) is still the best deal. Ordered this morning and got the email that it was shipped this afternoon with tracking info. Hope this helps.

Yes, but do they actually HAVE the white ones. I'm sure the source price for the units are the same. It sounds like a bait and switch. The problem with smart-mobile gadgets is for someone ordering from California the sales tax is huge.

My feelings exactly. I think they're just "playing" the market knowing that the black is more popular.

Just got mine today, but I'm wondering why it says "P3600 EU B" under the box?

Are all of the Trinity phones here imported from Europe?

Can any other American members check their P3600 box for me... Thanks.
