I would try to e-mail HTC support.

Let's see how good their support really is. The manual is not very clear about how to remove the cover. Some picture to show how will be a great help for many of their customers.

If their support is good they will send you a new one for free.

Yes, it's very difficult to remove the battery cover and there is literally no instructions of how to do so.

Also, I really dislike the glossy finish. In fact I dislike it so much that I'm very tempted to go back to my Prophet.

HTC´s international support in England might be the only ones able to help, not sure if HTC America offers the Trinity already...
