ive been to all types of WM 5 ROMS and currently im on Virgy Build.
BUT in all WM5 ROM i have, all boasting of PERSISTENT STORAGE, i noticed that when i install APPLICATIONS on RAMDISK, when i SOFT RESET, everything installed on RAMDISK IS ERASED and VANISHED.
so does RAMDISK retain all its info ON SOFT RESET?

Maybe because you have a keyboard fault. try checking your keyboard for problems. as far as i know, soft reset will definately erase everything on a ramdisk. thats why it is called a ramdisk. go google for the meaning of ramdisk.

yes, i'm curious too. what is the point of having big ramdisk when it will be easily removed after changing my battery. haha! take this for example "WM2005 AKU3.2 page pool size-24MB RAMDisk-40MB for Himalaya" by C_Shekar, this is a very good rom but when you store programs on that 40 mb ramdisk and you change your battery everything in there is erased. what i do is backup its contents so that i can restore it later. the main memory, the persistent storage which is around 30mb is ok, though. but is will be nice if that 40mb will also be a sort of persistent storage. thanks

great! so its with me and my unit. here's how i upgraded to wm5, i entered into bootloader mode, then upgraded it with wm5(different roms), then unlocked extended rom, then used hima doc tool. now, what could be the problem here? how can i have persistent storage in ramdisk. thanks!
