Be careful when flashing CID locked devices, this ROM has higher bootloader version: 1.07.0000 Shipped
Most probably this version will enforce CID checking.

I thought so too. It certainly won't work on mine since it is an HTC and not a Dopod. I wonder if we could use the same novenderID installer used with the Prophet and just install extracted the files? I suppose the trinity could need a new version. What do you think?

It's not possible to do a _noID utility for Trinity AFAIK. CID is checked by bootloader, and rom upgrades use NBH format.

This news is very depressing. That means that people with an HTC device will never be able to use Dopod ROMs or cook up new ROMS, for instance the GPS enabled? That's no fun. Maybe we just have to get the Trinity unlocked?

yes, you need to cid unlock it to do such thing. Is exactly the same thing as happens with hermes.

Use TyTn utils for unlock CID very dangerously!
because, for CID unlock it is necessary downgrade SPL to 1.04 (by default bootloader 1.06)

Sorry for my English

I didn't mean to use Hermes CID unlocker on trinity, that would definitely brick the device because it flashes a wrong radio.

You guys need to work together to develop a method to CID unlock the trinity, but this will take some time, first you have to gather info about the device and post it in the wiki... bootloader part is most important.

has anyone extracted the extended ROM from the Dopod D810 handset?

I would like to have a sneak peak into anything that might be useful for the hermes.

thanks in advance

bootloader command 'info 2' will answer both questions :)

Can someone summarize the CID locking for someone unfamiliar (or point me to a thread to read)?

I have an HTC-branded, unlocked Trinity that I want to keep up to date.

Your CID is "HTC__001", so it's LOCKED... you can only flash ROMs having this CID.

If it was CID unlocked it will be shown as "SuperCID" or "00000000".

Couldn't get into the bootloader with the hermes wiki page method. I tried holding the side OK and other side Power buttons down and resetting via stylus, no dice.

Assuming this is an HTC_001, will I be able to use any updates? You know I just want the GPS :-)

Under Settings -> Device Information -> Identity, the Model is 'TRIN100' if that makes a difference.

CID is always 8 bytes, so it's actually "HTC__405", which means you have an italian HTC branded device, so you can only put italian roms from HTC on it (no dopod, no t-mobile, no other... only HTC and only italian language).

That's normal, you have to look at the Trinity wiki page method :)

All roms in english (WWE) that come from HTC, but not any other operators...

Aha. Got to the bootloader, but of course it is just a serial terminal and I don't have my cable on me. Figures... I suppose I thought it'd pop up a keyboard :-)

Says TRIN100 all over the bootloader but that still doesn't give me the CID. I assume that if I plug in a USB when it's in the bootloader, it appears as a USB serial port and I can terminal into it?

Anyway, I guess the final question is: can I apply this 1.17 update then, or not?

"TRIN100" is a MODEL ID, not CID.

I wanted to find out my CID.
But when i enter the Boot-Loader (power-button + camera-button + Reset-button) I get this Red Green Blue White screen with the following text:
----------------------------
TRIN100
IPL-0.50

TRIN100
SPL-1.06.0000

(at the bottom is says "Serial")
----------------------------

What does this mean?

And it didn´t matter which button I pushed, nothing happened.
Only a soft-reset helped.
