Car Mount and wired Gps?

Hi Guys, I've recently bought a universal and was wondering if they will work with a wired gps cube wired with an RJ11 jack into a car Mount, ive got a Blue Angel that works fine with tomtom and the wired cube but I just can't get it to work with the exec, any ideas,
Sorry if there is allready a post about this, I couldn't find one
