Hi,

Can someone here give a guide or steps on how to create an operator/service provider for MMS and wap. or can someone just made me one, so I don't have to configure it everytime I do a hard reset. Im in Brunei and my service providers are B.Mobile and DSTCom. Thanks in advance...

The thousand-dollar question of course is: how did you make this cab? :)

The thousand-dollar question of course is: how did you make this cab? :)

eheh:)

I extracted the extended rom from the ms_.nbf file of this rom:

v1640_ITA_11360_171_10410_Ship.exe

It's a Vodafone ITA rom (very very old....I think it is not AKU at all).

So I mounted the decoded ms_.fat file with Total commander and I inspected all .cab file for mms and gprs settings using wincecab manager.

I found two files, one for the gprs connection and one for the mms settings.

the first has the correct CM_extries.xml file to configure internet connections.
the second has the registry settings to configure mms...but I found it's for a very old version of Arcsoft mms client ... so I discarded it. Inspecting it, I saw that I can "grab" all the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Arcsoft\* to actually configure MMS.

So,
I made a CAB file with:
- the CM_Entries.xml kept from the voda cab to configure GPRS/MMS ->connections<-
- the entire HKLM\SOFTWARE\Arcsoft registry tree (grab it with resco or the task manager regedit) resulting -> after <- I configured manually the MMS options in the outlook properties.

Now, after HR, I have only to execute it for configuring all connections data.

Bye!

thatīs no big problem...

search in the forum forum for the registry-entries....then use WinCECabManager...import the files and make your CAB-File.....very easy!

Hi,
yes ive been playing around with wince cab manager all week.. i did manage to understand something in it but i need some explanation on things like:
1. CM_Networks - what is this use for
2. CM_ProxyEntries - when i see on this characteristic, i saw different input of "characteristic type" like for e.g. for VODA Ita is "HTTP-{A8BCF750-A9BC-4cc2-B10B-22D89F4C9D5C}" while for telstra i found that it has 2 types, "null-corp-{39C79ED0-5C5E-4745-B4FA-71C28CB50ED2}" and "HTTP-{18AD9FBD-F716-ACB6-FD8A-1965DB95B814}" and for O2 PAYG "WAP-{18AD9FBD-F716-ACB6-FD8A-1965DB95B814}". also i need to understand what is "SrcId" and "DestId" and what should i put in it..

so basicly this thing makes me confused and don't know which one to follow. I'll guess someone has to post a thread of "How-To" steps to create Operator CAB files and explain in a bit details about the "numbered things" like {A8BCF750-A9BC-4cc2-B10B-22D89F4C9D5C} , {18AD9FBD-F716-ACB6-FD8A-1965DB95B814} , {7022E968-5A97-4051-BC1C-C578E2FBA5D9}, {ADB0B001-10B5-3F39-27C6-9742E785FCD4} etc.

Thanks for those who reply and thanks in advance for those who's willing to help newbie like me..
