Use this method when having problems with upgrading:
1. Downgrade to the 1.05 Rom ( ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Wizard/Roms/Qtek/CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe )
2. Download Lokiwiz 0.2b and extract it to the root of one of your drives, I'm using E: today on my Thinkpad.
3. Copy enablerapi.dll to your device with ActiveSync (don't create a partnership yet, explore as Guest), I just copy to it's root.
4. Execute enablerapi.dll from your device.
5. Open a Command prompt (<Start> <Run> type "cmd" without the quotes and hit <Enter>
6. Go to the root of whatever drive you extracted Lokiwiz to, my case I type "E:" <Enter>
7. Type "U" <Enter> .. wait and you device WILL soft reset. If it doesn't then you're not following instructions!
8. Stay at the Command Prompt!
9. Run Lokiwiz a second time and type "C" <Enter. Your device will reset a second time... if it doesn't you didn't follow instructions.
10. Exit the Command prompt
11. Downgrade to the 1.05 a SECOND time. Upon reboot, if you followed procedure, you will have a IPL and SPL of 1.x

Hey quick question, I downloaded the file from molski's site a few hours ago, but it had an updated radio rom the file is RUU_Molski.Biz_226102_22610105_022511_WWE-30MB, so are the radio roms really different? and what aku is that file above anyways? also Dr. Puttingham what would you recommend this rom or the 3.2 one? I already installed the one I mentioned above, but I haven't started personalizing my wizard yet, since molski released this 3.2 I imagine it should be pretty good so I'm kinda curious.

Don't kow what to tell you. The file I just dl'ed was RUU_Molski.Biz_AKU2.3-226102_22610105_024711_WWE-30MB-CF2-G3.exe.

As for 3.x's, I'm done until there's a 3.x IPL/SPL upgrade. I actually see no difference except a quicker boot time. Phone issues aren't resolved with any one's, speaking only for myself.

Hey everybody. I really love this release.

After upgrading, my t-mobile email triggers do not work. I see the text message announcing the new email. Those normally are hidden. Regardless, they DO NOT trigger a Pocket Outlook send/receive.

This is roughly my 30th time to change the rom on this phone. I saved Xelencin's t-mobile settings to my storage card a long time ago. With all of the other roms I have loaded, I just loaded xelencin's settings and my triggers worked fine.

No other posts could be found where this issue was solved.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

UPDATE:
After about 10 hours of trial and error, I finally got the T-mobile Triggers to work with Molski's rom! Basically, I did two things.

First, I copied the autorun files from a TMO standard 2.26 rom to the \windows\startup directory of my molski rom. There are only 4 tiny files and they don't take up much memory.

Then, I took the TMO customization files from the TMO standard 2.26 rom's extended rom. Through trial and error and a little reading up, I figured out which ones were needed for email triggers, I have attached the ones you need to make it work. I've renamed them with a number at the front. Install them in numeric order. HINT: If you install them your TMO Internet will work also. And I guess you don't need the EDGE icon, I just think it looks cool.

Then I did a Soft Reset - Then I ran the "My Email" program. From there it worked!

All of the files you will need are attached below.

It's called smart dialing. It is not enabled automatically. You have to install a cab file or do some registry work. The cab files are easier. :)

I have attached 2 zipped .cab files. One enables the generic built in smart dial. It works nicely but it is hard to dial with fingers. The other is much larger, but it adds a skin with big buttons, perfect for finger dialing. I can't do without it.

Unzip them and run them from your device.

Two questions:

* From what I can tell, the new 3.x AKU3.2 ROM is not... complete. Is the ROM in this thread the most advanced yet 'polished' custom around?

* My G3 MDA has the last version of Xelencin's 2.26. I had flashed it straight from stock 2.24 (as I remember). To be on the safe side, it seems to me I should go ahead with the stickied "Definitive" guide and unlock all the way, and then start with the stock T-Mobile 2.26... correct?

Thanks in advance. Gotta say, I am EXTREMELY impressed with what you all have been doing... this is among the reasons I am switching back to Wizard!!

You are correct because the AKU 3.2 which is out is like a RC1 if I understand correctly. Molski's 3.0.0.0 Rom runs on it. I use it and it is very stable.

I think most people in this forum would think that Molski's rom for 2.26 is the most advanced standard rom. It's a great choice for a first time rom.

Yes, you should follow the directions to CID and SIM unlock your phone. The CID unlock allows you to load ANY Wizard rom on your phone, in almost any order in most cases.

The stock ROMs almost always upgrade the radio and the IPL. It's sometimes good to load one of those when switching between roms to get the radio and ipl updated.

The best advice I can give is to follow Molski's instructions to the "t."

\\plugins /registry /hklm/ system/ gwe /cxVScr /set value to what you want, I think the old default was 12/ ok/ soft reset. I have heard that you need to wait for the changes to take effect, but I just soft reset at this point and I've never had a problem. Also, if you want to make the scroll arrow taller, it's cyVScr.

Everything's good so far... downgraded to 1.05, unlocked, upgraded to T-mo 2.26, installed this ROM without a hitch.

I assume due to the recent date of release, this has the best radio ROM to currently use? I am on T-mobile USA.

Yeah, this was for push. Something about these dang wizards you need to know if you don't already... they behave differently in the same situations. Push might work for you and NOT for me, even though we have the exact same rom. So if you are using push with this rom with no problems that is awesome.

Haven't really tried push yet. I'll set it up just to make sure, but for the last couple of months I've been getting the equivalent using emoze (with a scheduled POP to a Gmail account as backup).

Is it OK if I keep asking questions specific to this ROM release in this thread?

Err, I'll probably say this a couple of dozen times in the next week or so, but this ROM already feels fantastic. Way better than X2.26, and (get ready for it!)...

I am constantly freezing. Even when not frozen, my ActiveSync connection is cutting out. It takes way too long for IE to connect and load.

Again, I hope it's OK, but I am going to post questions and comments specific to this ROM in this thread... until someone tells me not to, or if I realize that I;m just being ignored. :)

Some questions:

* T-mo Set up: I went ahead and installed the six CABs that texasaggie had zipped for email trigger. Everything seemed to work (having not properly re-installed the four T-mo LNK in /Windows/Startup). Is my MDA going to explode from this? :) Also, Xelencin had made the T-mo Hotspot Login Utility available in Extended ROM... do I need to try to find this elsewhere?

* Registry tweaking: In general, I prefer tweak programs and CAB files to directly editing myself. Of the tweak programs, I am most familiar with and have SK Tools and Registry Wizard [edit: and the various tweaks available in SBSH software]... any reason not to use them, or is there anything to avoid?

* Overclocking: I see that SmartSKey 0.54 is integrated. Why not 0.56? I had previously overclocked by placing the exe in the Smartskey directory. Do I now use OmapPlus? Any conflicts or anything special to know? Is 240 okay?

* GPRS: I see the tweak for GPRS / phone conflicts. Does this include "GPRS always on"?

* Camera: I previously used ampda_Camera_Speckle_Fix... is this still worthwhile?

Ummm... that's all for now. I haven't even STARTED thinking about BT, A2DP, MSVC, etc. :lol: :lol: :lol:

Thanks. I have used 4smartphone, and actually do keep a separate Mail2Web account just for mobile email push. I am hoping, however, to be able to fix emoze, or install another re-director, as I prefer the email account consolidation, subfolder structure, and anti-virus benefits of desktop Outlook.

Just so people know, I have emailed the developers of emoze as to my problem with this ROM... they are pretty responsive; we'll see what they say.

I am up to installing and configuring BT stuff:

First, A2DP seems to be working fine with the ROM as is... do I need to install any of the hacks out there, or mess around with the Bitpool settings as Menneisys suggests?

Let me say that another way: Specific to this ROM series, are there any recommended tweaks for either: a) fixing the wireless stereo re-connect problem, or b) compensating for the audio quality of the MS BT stack?

Second, anything special for MSVC1.6? Do I still need to install Darryl Burling BT Enable?

Not that I have a clue, but... I followed Doc's unlocking instructions to the letter, including ending up with the T-mo 2.26 stock ROM as my "baseline". I installed this Molski ROM from that point, and it seemed to be fine.

I see in your signature that you previously had 2.24 installed... maybe start from 2.26? I know it's minor, but you never know.

-rpodos - Congrats! And as to MSVC 1.6, I didn't need the Burling or my other BT tweak with MY particular BT device. It just worked great right out of the box. Actually, using the VC with the BT is probably 99% accurate with my nxzen 5500 BT where as using the mic I seem to have more issues...

-mlh1962- Follow rpodos' advice. Install the T-Mobile 2.26 and go from there. I'm not sure why but I've seen problems like this with a few ROM's here and there that have the IPL/SPL where it seems like it doesn't quite "take". When in doubt, punt!

Go back and make sure that the change took. You have to give the system time to write the value to disk before you reset the phone. Most likely it didn't get written.

I doubled check the value and it does have a 1 in it after I did the soft reset. I still only get the G icon instead of the E icon and Cingular does support Edge in my area. I actually have several other phones (including another Wizard with a different ROM) and they all show the E right now.

Working great. Total install about 1.5 hours (with all my old software). Had a small glitch with a Battery Status plugin setting in the overclocking. It seems that if you check the box "set on soft reset" in the Overclocking screen, you get a soft reset every time you turn it off and on. Freaked me out for a minute or ten, but all is good.

I took the plunge finally and installed this ROM (after following all the steps of unlocking my G3 phone) The extended rom was also installed. But now there is a prob. I took a look at registry and the "dont delete cab files tweak" wasn't there, i had to manually do it. Moreover, i tried to install easysetowner and it popped an error that .net framework should be installed first which leads me to believe it is not installed (I was able to install easysetowner easily on my last Qtek 2.17 ROM which had .net CF1)..Any solutions? TIA

Edit: I checked and most of the things from extended rom are there but .net CF2 folder in \windows is empty...

I have a question hopefully somebody can answer. I updated to the Molski 3.2AKU rom but I am experiencing the delayed Voicemail notifications and missed call notifications as are others. I heard that the 2.26 rom is pretty much the same rom. Will it take care of the voicemail issues? ANy help would be greatly appreciated.

Pardon the question but I must ask.

My last upgrade was to Summiter's 2.17 on my CID & SIM unlocked Cingular 8125. I want to give this ROM a try and am not clear on whether I need to install anything other than what comes with this ROM in order to use my 8125 on Cingular's network. Do I need to follow up after this upgrade with anything else to get Cingular's network settings? If so can you point me to the proper donwload.

Tried changing the registry but upon reboot it defaults back to "0" for registry key. I even tried deleting it entirely and soft-resetting. It repopulated itself upon restart. Any suggestions?

So last night i unlocked my 8125 and uploaded my first new ROM to it (this one) and i love it so far... most of the reg tweaks i was doing are now controlled by programs in the system settings :).

My only wish is that the soft key bar and the task bar were darker (they're showing up as shades of grey). Is there anyway to make them dark black like the background in the windows_black_2 theme?

Just make sure you grab the correct image for your IPL/SPL type (if your IPL/SPL is in the format x.xx.001 you need G4, if it's like x.xx you can use the G3) and make certain your phone is CID unlocked before flashing. As I understand, you need to pay a service like imeicheck to unlock G4 devices.

So, if you know you've successfully installed a 'cooked' (non-standard) ROM to your PDA, chances are you've unlocked successfully and therefore do not need to unlock again.

If unsure, the best thing to do would be to unlock again, to be on the safe side, using the instructions in Dr Puttingham's (and Faria's!) stickied thread in this forum (direct link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285435). This will tell you everything you need to know...

Remove the sim card also remove the battery. On my wizard, removing the battery will always reset the time back to the ROM preset time and date. It's normal as far as I know. You can always check the synctime with provider/server box and have the time automatically set when it turns back on again.

When entering a birthday into a contact, this used to show up on the calender as a reoccuring appointment and I have recently noticed with this ROM that it does not.

Can this be fixed in the registry, am I missing something, or is this just one of those things you gotta deal with?

Seems to be running nicely and fast, but does have some problems when using the phonepad. It keeps defaulting back to english language when using the t9 input method which is really sad as this imho is the fastest way to type :-) Problem is, if you select another language then english it goes back to english. Hope This can be fixed and we have another final version of this great rom.

I just helped my boy out upgrading his phone from stock Tmobile Rom to the Molski 2.26.10.2 I have installed the Tmob settings cabs and I do not have an MMS folder. I serached through the fourm (as always) and I couldnt find anyone with the same problem. I CID unlocked his phone it is a G3 and the phone recives and sends Txt msgs and the edge network works fine. Is there an extra step I am missing?

I am having a love/hate relationship with this ROM. So far, I have been able to iron out all of the kinks except one: When I make or recieve a call with my Bluetooth headset, I have to press the button a second time upon connecting with the other party to actually get the audio to reroute to the headset. The microphone is the same. In other words, when I call someone, I can press the headset button for voice dial and dial out, but then the audio of thew phone ringing is happening on the unit. If I press the button again at this point, it hangs up the call, but if I actually watch the screen and see that the other end has picked up the call, I can then press the button again to get the audio and microphone rerouted to the headset. Ditto for incoming as well....I can press the button on my headset to answer the call, but the audio is running through the main unit until I press the button a second time. This is very frustrating to say the least....Anyone have any clue what I should be checking here?

I am using WMA files stored on my storage card as ringtones. Is there anyway to use MP3/WMA/MID files for other sounds on the phone? For example Voicemail notification?

I notice that when I tap the drop down box to select a sound, it only sees the default Windows sounds. With my old SMT5600 and 2125 Smartphones, I could use MID files for phone notifications.

Any help is appreciated.

No it isn`t

Only way to select similar sounds is convert them to *.wav (Windows PCM) and copy to folder windows.
Than will the tones showed in choose a sounds.

First time poster, long time reader. I just signed up about a week ago... Awesome forum, and an awesome ROM. :)

I've went to my Setting>System>Regional>Time tab> and switched the format to H:mm:ss... That doesn't seem to work. Might be a simple fix, and I apoligize if it is.

Also, using the Omapclock program, is there anyway I can get it overclocked more than 180mhz? If I switch it to 240mhz, it stays, but only for a bit. Thanks in advance!

Every time I connect via GPRS on my G3 Cingular upgraded to the Molski.Biz rom, I stop receiving phone calls and incoming SMS until I restart or switch to flight mode and back. I see a tweak that says something about GPRS and phone conflict, but clearly I'm still having an issue. All the other tweaks seem to have taken effect. Any ideas?

Wow, This is great. I still really have no real idea what i am doing, but for a newbee, i got this far. My mda G3 works great. I am still trying to figure everything out but it even looks great. I am using slingmobile and skype at 286 clock speed. Now this is an Usa mda from t-mobile. My service with t-mobile is off. So now i have a cingular prepaid chip in the phone. With no internet service for prepaid. I down loaded this. I will make a donation. Molski is the man.

Hey, does anybody know how to change the alarm ringtone. It is not listed in the 'Sounds and Notifications' menu so I'm not able to change it.

Now it's standard set at alarm1.wav and that does not really wake me up in the morning. Replacing the file in the windows folder is also not an option since its a protected system file.
