perhaps I spoke too soon though...I've had to reboot and use the pen tip sized soft reset button on the side twice
also...first sbsh pocketbreeze v.5 worked fine but then after a reset, it won't display correctly anymore
I am going to downgrade to 1.05 and then reflash with 3.2 and report back...I really do love the subtle changes though so I'm pluggin' away trying to make this work
oh and I like that you guys left out the dialer skin
I will report back after reflash

Does it need Compact Framework 1 or 2 ?
CF 1 SP3 can be seperately installed to solve the error.

Same here. Although I use the Spb PocketPlus 3.1.2.
I even hard resetted and not installed the customization, but it keeps locking up as soon as the Today plugin shows.
Does this indicate that it is a AKU3 issue, and not a customization issue?

I also managed to ruin my device three times already, althouth I did not install SPB Pocket+.
Problem is I don't know the culprit yet so now I'm installing my software step by step always making backups, a few soft-resets and waiting a day or two in between.
But I suspect it's SPB Weather or "Resco Keyboard Pro" which kill's the device. Does anybody else also have problems with one of these two?

Ok. I tried 2 install the Rom without modifiing IPL & SPL. According 2 following steps:
http:// forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=271043
...i successfully flashed 2 original vendor roms on my G4 (IPL & SPL 2.21).
But all tries 4 flashing with modded roms failed so far. Any idea?
Would like to upgrade 2 2.26...

I do love this rom thus far...my only complaint (and it's a big one) is the even without overclocking, I burn through a battery faster than any other rom that I have tried in the past. I'm not sure why this is.
I too have the wake up issues...has anyone figured that out? I will hit the power button to shut it off and then it magically comes back on and will not go back to standby...
I would really like to figure out how to make the batter last longer than 4 hours (yeah, that's right...it's burning through it doing absolutely nothing)...

Yup...I reflashed the ROM...didn't install that...now it's very stable
my today screen just isn't quite as nifty looking now though...oh well...perhaps with the next version...

I have same problems. But I don't think its only SPB Pocket Plus.
I reflashed the phone now the 5. time :(
The phone starts and hangs when the sim pin should be entered. then the screen disappears and the today screen is seen but without the today plugins i installed. the two last tools were lvmtime and im+. after reboot nothing works.
is there a way to deinstall both tools? active sync doesn't work and the safe mode is only available with special tools i don't have installed yet... hard reset while booting (pressing cam and comm buttons) doesn't work, only the bootloader screen apperas, but nothing happens then. so i think there's no other way than reflashing it?!

I've noticed the same thing after installing pocket RSS reader supplied in the extended ROM. Works great until you have to reset your device - Then it freezes everytime at start-up.
I'm back to Molski's final relase of 2.3 with no apparant problems so far.

I confirm that : after installing prssreader and a softreset the device locks at the today screen if the sim has been taken off (and at the PIN input if the sim is in)... I think this comes to an incompatibility between today screen and prssreader. Maybe it's the same problem as with spb pocket plus : today screen not working similarly to previous AKUs ?
Is there a way to tell prssreader NOT to use the today screen ?
Maybe it would solve that bug ?
Another problem with Hitchhiker 4.0 beta 1 :
everything went fine including google.com connection test then detailed error message about connecting to pocket msn messenger.
Didn't tried version 3.2, is it working with windows mobile 5 ? and this rom ?

I had exactly the same problems like dbsoundz. Phone starts and ask for phone pin. After entering pin a nearly empty today screen appears and the phone locks up.
@dbsounds:
The problem with the hard reset is, that you press the wrong buttons. Hard-Reset is the "Comm" & "Voice Recognition" Button, not the "Camera". Press and hold these while pushing the "reset" button with your stylus. Then keep holding until you see the prompt for hard-resetting. Then you have to press the green "phone" button to confirm the hard-reset. This way you don't have to re-flash.
I recommend backing up the system when you have the most essential programs installed with SBP Backup, so if your phone locks up again you can hard-reset and restore the backup and you're ROM is up and running in no time. But be aware if you backup software which causes your phone to lock up, it get's you nowhere cause after restore the phone locks up again, I already ran into this problem, so I recommend keeping as much backup copies as your memory card can hold, so you can incrementally install the needed software, if you run into problems, just go back one step. This works perfectly for me at the moment.
btw: lvmtime works perfectly must be im+ which causes the problems.

I didn't see this mentioned when searching this thread for volume or sound.
When I upgraded to this ROM the volume control seems to be only partially working. I can get full volume for PDA/Phone sound but I don't get any of the lower sound settings. Its like its either muted or full volume. This is not just an issue with the sound adjust slider. Even if you use the on screen adjust it only seems to toggle between off and full blast!
Is this a known issue? Is there a fix?
Thanks.

Interesting... im+ was one of the first things I tried out on this ROM and it worked without issue.
Actually, wait--two days ago it did force a hard reset on my device, but I can't remember if that was with Faria's AKU3.2 or molski's. :-/

I had two issues with this ROM.
First, the known problem mentioned several times about the phone waking up without me pressing the power button. This was solved (I think) by disabling the "Prompt if device unused for" tickbox in Lock settings. I would like my phone to PIN-lock after 1-2 hours but for now, this solution is OK.
Second, a problem that was not mentioned here, afaik. Every time I reset my phone using the reset button that you push with the stylus on the right of the Wizard, the setting for turning off the backlight on battery power resets to 10 seconds. I hate that:) I have to change it to 5 mins every time. Any ideas? This has been mentioned a couple of times in other threads, but happened to me when I switched to this ROM.
Other than these, this is the best ROM I've ever used, and this makes my wizard the best mobile phone I ever owned. It's fast, responsive, boots quickly and is stable as hell (so far). Thanx a million Molski.

Molski, Faria...
You guys did a great job. I really appreciate your hardwork; I've been waiting for this release and I must say that so far I'm really pleased. I havn't really noticed any bugs, though I'm not using some of the software these other guys are. I did notice that I am now able to paste text into the "Key" field when connecting to wireless networks, and that its not hidden by asterix anymore; thats awesome. The 54mb wireless is awesome for transferring files over the network.
Thanks again guys.

Definitely something up with the radio ROM in this release. Since upgrading my QTEK 9100, I went back to having issues connecting to most WiFi APs where it would take anything from 5 to 10 retries to get a connection (and it's not signal strength related as I was standing right next to the AP with a laptop and Xbox 360 happily attached). Sometimes I even have to soft-reset to get it to connect.
I had this problem with my 2.x ROM which cooked up myself and fixed it when I added a newer ROM at the time. This is actually according to the display on the phone the same as comes with this: 2.47.11. I dug it out and installed it to see what happens.
Found a) WiFi only takes 2 or 3 retries (better than 10) and b) GSM reception has gone up.
Wondering if perhaps there are multiple versions of the same radio ROM version (if that makes sense).
Now if I can stop the damn phone waking up shortly after sleeping it and getting SPB Plus working, the phone would be more or less perfect (well as perfect as any WM5 phone can be - it's still Windows).

I cannot recommend this rom after few weeks of testing.
- Slow respond
- Higher battery consuption
- Doesn't support usage of Sym-key when writing scandinavian letters like дце etc.
- Doesnt autofill SMS Message "To:"-field from contacts.
- SMS delivered message from system admin is total unusefull crap, if you have such a important message - CALL HIM!
- Calendar doesn't syncronize after upgrading, only contacts did.
Nice try, but dont mess up your working phone with this.

Has been fine compared to what I had before, a self-cooked ROM which was pretty quick compared to the stock one for my QTEK 9100
- Higher battery consuption
Can't comment on this as I charge regularly, but the original radio ROM did seem to make WiFi use more power than before.
- Doesn't support usage of Sym-key when writing scandinavian letters like дце etc.
I lost this on my previous 2.x ROM and never got it back - I'd like to know why too.
- Doesnt autofill SMS Message "To:"-field from contacts.
Does on mine.
- SMS delivered message from system admin is total unusefull crap, if you have such a important message - CALL HIM!
FFS - Switch it off then - it's only an option and not a reason to dump a ROM!
- Calendar doesn't syncronize after upgrading, only contacts did.
Mine most certainly does - perhaps as I'm using 4.5b2 of ActiveSync?!?!
Nice try, but dont mess up your working phone with this.
It's not perfect, but still leagues ahead of most stock ROMs

I have to agree with Taomyn. After a slow start of getting my Exchange server sync'ed (Calendar would take forever), everything is running smoothly and much faster than before (used Summiter's rom - awesome rom, thx). Only reason for the switch is that I wanted to try aku3.2.
Some observations -
* SMS/Outlook autofill works - "To:" from contacts (someone said it didn't. np)
* Battery life a bit better
* Boot time faster
* Programs respond faster (MS Reader before was a dawg! Now real zippy!)
I'm not saying this rom is bullet-proof. I have had some quirks. All in all it's pretty good.
Thanks Molski !

You can do a search for it or get the registry wizard and use it to shut the notification off. The clear type is located under the settings the screen option and you will see a tab says clear type, you can shut it off there.

STOP! Don't downgrade! You have a G4 device.... never flash a G3 rom... it will brick you're device. The only option for G4 owners who want to use this rom is to unlock through imei-check and flash the G4 version of molski's rom.
