Hi guys, please help save my sanity, I use my T-Mobile MDA as my alarm clock in the mornings and have done so since I got it on Ebay about 4 months ago.
The problems started this morning though, when the alarm activated it didn't give me the option to cancel with the left soft key or snooze with the right soft key - it just kept going....and going....and going!!!!! Even after a soft reset.....so I turned it off and removed the battery, refitted the battery and turned it on and the alarm started to go again... and again... and again I managed to stop it after a while but I dont know how because I'd restarted it and soft started it and switched off the alarms so many times I lost track of what I did!

Then this afternoon when I disconnected the MDA from my PC at work it locked out (it does this quite frequently - a different problem but still annoying though) I normally fix this by carrying out a soft reset, which I did....then the bloody alarm thing started all over again EVEN THOUGH THE ALARMS WERE ALL DISABLED, 45 minutes of mucking about again and now it has finally stopped again....please please please can anyone suggest how I fix this cos if I can't the phones going in the bin - I mean the unit is a useful little business tool but its got lots of problems that make it a pain in the as* sometimes. I dont know what software its running or anaything like that cos I'm not sure where to get these details - sorry.

Many many many thanks in advance.

use clear_notify.exe and remove duplicates of "clock" events.

or
check_notifications.exe

Try to use SPB Time http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/time/?en , they did have few bugs with their alrm system, but in this new version they have rectified all the bugs, and it is really working fine, keep it in mind that once u use any other software for alarm then DO NOT use the basic windows alarm. SPB Time has also got a nice ScreenSaver functionality with your own picture support.

No problem - i have tried a few alarms and they all use the same notification system for setting up an alarm so i do not think one has any benefit from another in terms of reliability (although you will always have diff people swaring by their paricular alarm) but diff ones have extra features - eg. play mp3, wma's etc...

IMHO you can have a reliable alarm by
1. Keeping the notification queue clean - i feel these errors occur when the NQ becomes large/corrupt
2. If it is for a morning alarm - plug your device into the mains and do not let it go into standby - this will give you a reliable alarm.

If you want to look into other alarms see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...highlight=wrap
