View Full Version : Miss phone calls and no voicemail notification.

I have used various of customized wizard roms and have been pretty ignorant to the missed phone calls and no voicemail notification problem until recent(about 2 weeks ago) when I suddenly received a notification of 22 missed calls and 15 unheard voice messages. I think this is a fundamantle problem to any phone/ROM so we really need to get to the bottom of this. Does any one out there also have this problem? Please share your carrier and settings. Or better yet, please throw in a couple of ideas.
I have CINGULAR 8125 G3 and use CINGULAR as my carrier.
Here is my sympton:
1. intermittently miss phone calls, with no notification (missed call; voice mail) afterward. It might be related to intensively use some application like PIE or total-commander but I don't have solid data point to prove that. To proved it will need a pretty exhaustive testing being performed.
2. sometimes when trying to make calls, the sound quality was really bad and the call was dropped very shortly after making connection. However after a soft reset of the phone I could call out again with decent connection quality. Again this is really intermittent and not easily reproduced. However I suspect when the phone could not call out it probably couldn't receive calls either. So this issue could be related to the first issue.
First question is: Is this due to the new AKU3.2 rom? I am not sure about this because for once or twice with my phone flashed with 2.26 rom I still experience the problem that the phone couldn't call out until soft reset.
My other suspect is the omapclock overclocking. Because if the CPU being overclocked, maybe the cpu core that is in charge of the phone operation will get overclocked it cannot work properly when overclocked?
As you can see I am only shooting in the dark. Therefor any ideas will be welcomed/appreciated.

I read a lot about people missing phone calls and such when using the AKU 3.2 rom which is why I won't touch those roms anymore. There were even more problems with those roms on cingular, such as not being able to hang up without resetting the phone. You might want to do a quick search or scan thru the AKU 3.2 threads and take a look.

OK. Let me change to a different question: does any one has the same issue with a AKU2.x ROM? I am asking this because I am not sure if this is a AKU3 ROM problem.
How do I make a fancy poll in the beginning of this thread?
markgamber

Same as above. You'll get a lot more out of reading the AKU 2 threads that are already have (and have been for some time) than by starting yet another poll few will answer. I've not heard of such a problem, nor have I ever experienced it. The AKU 2.3 roms seem pretty stable these days. I think, for the most part, this is a great example of "newer isn't always better".

Thank you Mark for sharing your thoughts and your experience. Which carrier and phone are you using? I have noticed that the cituation varies among different carriers also.
I have been using my cingular phone with both AKU3.2 and AKU2.26 and I have had at least 1 incident of phone not able to establish a steady call until a soft reset. And that's why I am trying to gather other people's data point.

Well I have the same problem with the following configuration:
MDA Vario - T-Mobile, Netherlands
IPL 2.26
SPL 2.26
Radio 2.47.11
OS 2.26.10.2 (AKU 2.3 based)
The problem of the missed calls came to my attention (via my girlfriend) when I was running a AKU2.3 based rom. At this moment I am still running the same ROM and frequently have this problem.
Hopefully this data will help analyse the problem. If I can help in any way, please let me know.

well i noticed an odd one with my kjam when i received it back from repair, it was using the latest imate rom which ever that was and it wasnt giving me the voicemail notification... it was just messaging telling me i have a sms waiting for me but i cannot download it because my phone is apparently full.. kept getting that all day, even though i deleted all of the 10 sms i had in there.
turns out it was a voicemail message. :|

There is a topic that makes clear that this happens on the dutch T-Mobile network too. I downgraded my radio rom to the original 2.19.11 and it solved my problem.
You can try disabeling the USSD service as it seems to help some people on Faria's 3.2 rom.

I have a suspect that overclocking of the CPU using OMAPCLOCK might be related to this problem. The problem to verify this is that I need a sequence with which I can constantly reproduce the miss call problem. Then I can perform further test with different combination of ROMs, applications, CPU speed configuration etc. I will definitely keep reporting my progress. Does any one have any suggestions/ideas?

Here is the testing schem I have designed:
I asked my wife and my son to call my CELL every 30min-1hr, leave voice message if they were redirected to the answer service. Then I can have a record and a clear indication on how many calls I have missed. Here is the current configuration I am using:
Cingular Plan with GPRS data package.
Molski AKU2.26 release ROM
2.47.11 Radio
No overclocking(195MHZ for 8125)
I will get a call hit/miss ratio after a day or two. Then I will switch to different setup(CPU Clock, AKU, Radio ROM etc.). Hopefully I can determine which is the determining factor in causing this missing call issue.
If you are interested in this test. Please join me and feel free to define your test scheme so we can have a broader test coverage. If eventually this turns out to be a Carrier problem, then we would have more data point to push the carriers to fix this.
Your participation would be greatly appreciated.

Like many USA Cingular customers with Faria's excellent 3.2 rom I started to miss calls and voicemail alerts. I would miss calls in places with great reception for no apparent reason, not just in places with spotty reception. I think I may have a solution to the problem.
Cingular has been giving customers a new 64k orange colored sim card to replace the older 32k black colored sims. I went to cingular to get my new card and I also received horrible reception at my house. After replacing the card several times the reception did not get any better.
I was able to speak with one of the upper level techs, and here is what was explained to me:
Cingular is in the process of combining all of it's network with the former AT&T network here in the US. Cingular has 2 networks each color coded "Orange" and "Blue". Cingular Orange is the original Cingular network from the time when SBC and BellSouth merged their wireless units. Cingular Blue is everything that Cingular got through the AT&T merger in 2003. This includes all AT&T Wireless GSM 850/1900 licenses, markets and network assets (i.e. towers etc). When I changed my sim, I also changed my primary network from Orange (registered on my old sim) to Blue. To remedy my spotty coverage at my house the tech switched me back to Orange.
Ever since I've been back on the Orange network I have not missed a call or voicemail, and it's not because I get better reception. I have been testing for 2 weeks now, and everthing is been going great! I have had the USSD service disabled, I just started the service again and will test with USSD on auto, but I'm guessing it will work. I will report back later.
This would confirm that it is a network issue, and not an issue for all users. Give Cingular a call and ask to change to the Orange network, you can always call to change it back!

Intesesting.... In addition to the missed calls and voicemail issues, did you have the phone buttons not responding issues? For instance, with any AKU 3.2 ROM, after a day or three, when I hit the "7" key to delete a message I see the & register on the screen but the phone's not aware. Or I can't hang up the phone and either have to wait or reset ...

I worked for Cingular (as a retail sales rep)... if you have questions about the Orange/Blue networks, let me know and I'll take a stab at it. It has been a year since I've worked for them.

I have been having this problem for about 6 months. On top of the problems of missing calls (I can call myself and while the landline I'm calling from will ring the whole time, the cell never wakes up or rings) I'm also having problems where I sometimes can't hang up a phone call or when I press a button in the middle of a call (like punching in my VM password) it doesn't register.
I'm also on Cingular.
I'm using a K-Jam using the last K-Jam FW. The only thing I have done is added A2DP using the patch (which I have since uninstalled). I'm not overclocking
If I soft reset my device, the problem goes away.
The only thing I noticed that was odd, is it seems to only happen when I've regsitered on a tower close to my office. It never happens when I'm anyplace else. Once I register on that tower, I have problems until I soft reset my device. If I never go to work, I don't have it. Could be a coincidence but I don't know.
If it's not a carrier problem, my thought is it's a system resource problem where something is dragging the memory down or conflicting.
More info (since I'm running a clean stock ROM):
I'm not running any today plugins that aren't standard (email, tasks, calendar, etc) EXCEPT I am running the wireless hack in the registry where it shows your carrier plus wireless info. I'm also unning PHM Tray Launch and sometimes when I soft reset my device, it won't display until I come back to the Today Screen a few times.
Other than that, I don't have a lot of SW installed on my device.
Hope this helps...

I also have the button press issues. I can try to delete a message and while I hear the DTMF, the network does not.
I'm using the standard K-Jam FW on my K-Jam. No customized ROM here with the exception I loaded the A2DP patch.

OK, I'm confused with my SIMs.
I have 2:
1.) 64k Cingular with green back. I originally got it from when I switched from AT&T wireless, 2 years ago, January. And it worked, so I continued to use it in my new phones. (Including my Wizard.)
2.) 64k Cingular with blue back. I got this one when I got a warranty replacement phone over the summer. (Says 3G, and has a different arrangement of contacts.)
I have to assume that I skipped over these orange SIM cards that keep getting mentioned.
Any confirmation or further info?

I would say for those who are on Cingular and having problems should post up which Cingular SIM card they have... That may cut through the possibility that the SIM may be the cause of most problems.
I used an AT&T Wireless (Cingular Blue) customer who was given the white SIM card with the black text and blue logo; I used to have lots of problems with reception and dropped calls with it and it didn't matter which phone my SIM card was in. I was told that if I migrated over to Cingular (Cingular Orange) that their new 64K SIM card could resolve my reception problems...
I currently use a Cingular 64K SIM (Orange and white color with 64K text) and it has resolved issues I used to have with previous phones. My unlocked T-Mobile MDA using the Radio ROM included (I believe it's the iMate Radio ROM) with Molski's new AKU 3.2 ROM has had no problems with reception or missed calls.
For those with problems with the ROM, I would possibly try to get a hold of a Cingular Radio ROM from the FTP server. I know that when my phone still had the default T-Mobile 2.26 G3 ROM, my reception was a little bit fuzzy on calls.

Yeah, it looks like you skipped over the orange 64K SIM's and got a 3G 64K instead.

Kudos to FunkyB! I always suspected there is something fishy in the network itself. Here is my test result so far:
Molski 2.26 ROM
2.47.11 Radio
No overclocking
Received: 11 calls
Missed: 1 calls + No voice message notification
2 extra findings:
If I press "ignore" immediately after hearing the ringtone, the other end will get busy tone.
If I press "ignore" after at least 2 rings, the other end get the voice mail
Navizon doesn't work on Molski's latest 2.26 ROM! (I found out this when I am trying to run every bit of apps I could find during the testing).
So here is another factor into my testing: Cingular BLUE or Cingular Orange. Is there any easy way for me to determine my network?
PS. I concour to Mr. McHale's finding also.

I'm on Rogers here in Canada and I had this problem happen for the first time. I've tried calling myself a few other times and it doesn't go thru, just straight to voicemail. I do get the vmail indicator though!
I'm using Molski's 3.0.0.0 AKU 3.2 ROM. IPS/SPL is reading 2.26 still (not sure if this is right.)
I can call out from it without a prob, just inbound is no good. One other thing, when I try and go into the phone settings (Start -> Settings -> Phone) I get the message "The phone is not ready. Wait 15 seconds and try again." I've been waiting since I flashed last night :)
I'm at work right now and not much time to look into it but thought I'd chime in.

Selling blue SIM cards is phased out. Since the merger of Cingular/AT&T, they will only provide orange SIM cards.
You will get your bill from Cingular no matter what at present time. However, you may be on a grandfathered plan with AT&T (but still paying Cingular) and it will be blue. If you have Rollover minutes, or other Cingular benefits, you are definitely on Orange.
You cannot get on the Blue network now as a new customer. If you are a Blue customer, you can change your plan to Orange (pending your contract renewal period), you may be able to revert to blue if you have a specific complaint, but it is not recommended as this may hurt your chances of upgrading back to orange in the near future.
Eventually, all Blue AT&T contracts will be replaced by Cingular, and you will have to take Cingular, unless you want to just pack up and take T-Mobile.

The color of your sim card does not determine which color network you are on. Your location and more importantly the date you received your sim card will determine which network was chosen by Cingular / AT&T for you. Most towers will only list as Cingular and not orange / blue. There may be a USSD command to list detailed network info, but I don't know it. The easiest way to figure out which network you are on is to call Cingular and ask.

more info in case anyone is curious.
I'm a Cingular orange customer and have been with them for 12 years straight (Cell One/Cingular).
I got the latest 3G card a couple months ago hoping this would fix the issue.
I'm a big believer that it is something stealing memory. I'm not sure whether it's network related or not but it's odd it's only happening to Cingular customers.
This morning I talked on the phone for about 15 mins. Hung up and called my VM and when I went to end the call, I couldn't. The network wouldn't release it (or the phone wouldn't trigger it). Once I rebooted, it worked fine.
Because of these problems I have been debating going to Molski's latest but I'm not sure if that will fix it.

For those of us suffering from this problem, we should list the reg hacks we've performed as well as the apps we have installed (or have installed and since uninstalled). We need to see what the common thing is.

I have one suggestion...what we used to tell people at Cingular when I worked there, restart your phone once each day so that the network will find your phone quicker.
I know the thread is primarily about Cingular, but I'm going to throw in a wildcard here.
I am using Risidoro's ROM which is version 2.26.10.2 WWE and I upgraded to Radio 2.47.11.
I get this same missed calls and voicemails thing without ever knowing it while I have a good signal, kicker is that I have T-Mobile and I am restarting my phone at least once daily.

I have a suspect that overclocking of the CPU using OMAPCLOCK might be related to this problem.
I don't think the problem has anything to do with overclocking. I am seeing the no-ring missed calls and voicemails with no notification fairly often and I've never overclocked the CPU.
I too am on Cingular; my SIM is orange and white with a blue swish across the middle. It says "64K smartchip" on it. See my signature for current ROM/radio config. I've been in this ROM configuration since 9/25/2006.
Now there is a question whether the problem is with the network or the phone. A bit of evidence that I have which tells me the problem is on the phone is the following:
When I have my phone too close to my computer speakers, there is a buzzing type of interference that occurs during data connections and phone calls. This has happened with every GSM phone that I ever owned, not just my 8125. It's a GSM thing. I'm guessing a lot of other folks have noticed this too.
Usually, the interference sound comes over the speakers just before the phone rings. Here's the interesting part: when my 8125 is in it's non-ringing mood, I still hear the interference. To me, that means the network is properly alerting my device that there is an incoming call (ring alert) and the problem is with the phone.

It "is" possible, in fact I had the orange colored card and I was on the blue network!
After switching to orange I have not experienced a single missed call / voicemail even with the USSD service turned on.

Agreed on the GSM signal crossing speakers... Glad I am not the only one that puts my phone close to my computer speakers. :D
Usually, I will get a buzz before my ringtone plays or (if it's silent) my speakers will buzz for a long while. This should mean that the phone is receiving the signal and the confirmation that the phone is working properly would be my phone ringing.
I would say for those who are having dropped calls to try the test that Ratazzi has posted and post results.
Turn on some computer speakers and put your Wizard close to them. Make some test calls about a room away from the speakers and Wizard (use family or have a friend call you). If you hear your speakers buzzing but your phone isn't responding, then it is a software problem. If you don't hear any buzzing, then it is a network related problem.

hi guys,
I do think that it may be the RADIO ROM Version. I have never had a problem with missed calls or not being able to call outbound, but I installed Molski's latest and final 2.26 ROM this week with RADIO ROM 2.47.11 and since then I had a couple of issues:
1. While trying browsing the Internet with PIE, the phone froze completely. Only a SR helped.
2. I happened already two times, that the phone part of my wizard died. I could not even recover it via Communication Manager (turning Phone off/on) even a SR didnt work. And than all of a sudden it worked again?!
3. When I was making a outgoing call today, the phone application just dropped the call and rebooted the GSM part, but without success - I still could not make a call. After another turning off and on of the phone, it worked.
Is it possible to downgrade the RADIO ROM only? I know that you can separately flash it, but can you also downgrade it?
Thanks!

Here is my test result so far:
With Molski's latest 2.26 ROM with radio version 2.47.11,
Total calls: 36, dropped: 5 calls. It seems that after a long period of standby, it is easier to miss calls.
With Molski's 3.0 ROM with Radio version 2.47.11,
Total calls: 24, dropped: 8 calls. The phone part of the device is very unreliable.
Next test: Molski's 3.0 ROM with Radio ROM downgraded to Cingular 2.25
Has anyone had any miss calls issue with a cingular Radio ROM?

I'm running the Cingular Radio. I miss calls and text messages all the time. I'm running a bare bones K-Jam ROM with the Cingular Radio upgrade.
It's not the radio.
If it were that, there's no way to explain why you sometimes can't disconnect the call or DTMF not broadcasting from the phone.
It's a memory resource issue. It has to be. It's also not network dependant as there is now a confirmed T-Mobile user with the same problem. On howard forums, there's also an SDA user with the same problem.
I still say we need to post all the apps and plugins we have installed (and uninstalled).

When in a call, sometimes I can't hang up (end key and button no longer work). (Definately not a network or radio issue)
When in a call, the system doesn't register my DTMF though I can hear it when I press the buttons. (Definately not a network or radio issue)
I am able to call my cell from a landline and according to my landline, it's ringing off the hook. But my cell never rings. It also doesn't receive text messages a lot of the time.
When my PPC first boots up, sometimes the PHM Tray Launch icons won't be visible until I go into an app that changes the screen and go back to home.
When using File Explorer, if I try to go to the Windows folder, it sometimes locks up the unit. I can soft reset until the cows come home but File Explorer will be unusable as it's just where I left it - trying to view the files in the Windows folder. Eventually, it will work and I have my File Explorer back. Note: this doesn't happen in Total Commander.
Plugins on my homescreen:
Date
Wireless (put there by registry hack)
Outlook
Tasks
Calendar
PHM Tray Launch (only non-standard plugin installed)
Installed Apps:
IM+ 4.23
Opera
TCPMP
Total Commander
Virtual Earth Mobile
AvantGo
HandDee-SA
Frequency Tuner
Windows Live Search
VXUtils
Installed and since removed:
Agile Messenger
Overclock
Also, I clear out my temp files quite often so I know it's not a result of running out of RAM.

Ok everyone, the missed call problem and non responsive keys is related to aku 3.2 or higher, there appears to be no solution in sight until Microsoft and/or HTC addresses this.
To ensure that you dont lose calls, you must make a call regularly with your phone because it appears that the radio goes to sleep and does not respond to calls but this is resolved by an outbound call. I find that this occurs after plugging power to the phone.
On the key prompt issue, this appears to be related to bluetooth. I'm still testing this with bluetooth turned on/off and will provide additional information as it becomes avail.....

how did you arrive at these conclusions? Which aku is the stock K-Jam ROM running?
The non responsive key issue has absolutely nothing to do with AKU or Bluetooth.
Have you read this thread?

I don't believe it is related to 3.2AKU roms either. I have a friend with a T-Mobile MDA with no additional software and only factory installed ROM and he is missing a lot of phone calls.
I have a MDA as well running Molski's 2.26 ROM and previously ran Xelencin's 2.24 I believe. I don't get as much phone calls in a day as my friend does but I have had people complain that I'm not picking up my phone and its going straight to voicemail.
Like McHale said, there is just too many variables to make a conclusion like that when people with different combinations of ROM, installed software, and carriers are having the same problem.

Yes I have read this thread and the other threads related to ROm upgrades re AKU 3.0+

Depending on which Rom you are running you will experience one of these problems:
AKU 3.x, only avaliable as a custom Rom hacked which uses T-Mobile 2.26 OS Rom combined with a 3.x Core.
There is apparently a problem with the AKU 3.x Rom that causes the missed calls & Voice Message Notifications. The exact problem isn't known yet. Many users have tried all of the previous fixes (for the AKU 2.x GRPS Stall Issue) with no success. THIS IS A NEW ISSUE.
AKU 2.2/2.3, effects both Custom and Operator Roms
This is the GPRS Stall Issue. There is a simple workaround which is in this rather lengthy discussion about the problem:

Yes!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I'm not on nor have I ever been on AKU 3. Don't assume an answer for me or anyone else because you have no idea what you are talking about. Go check out the last update IMate put out for the K-Jam and you tell me what the AKU is. I know but you apparently don't. I'm running that clean right now with no patches or hacks. I have the problem.

You obviously don't know what you read then. It's not related to the AKU.
It's also not related to data connections as I had this problem before I had data connection enabled on my account. I have had this phone for a full year now (I was one that got it on the very first shipment in the US). I started having this problem on the very first ROM and only recently do I have GPRS enabled on my account.
It's also not related to SIM card as I swapped that out every month for the last 6 months to the latest 3G SIM Cingular offers and it does nothing.
My guess is it's an app that we all run like Agile or AvantGo. Those are two apps that nearly everyone has installed from the beginning the box is cracked open. Could also be the Wireless today plugin that is enabled with a reg patch.
When I get a new phone that becomes my primary, I'm going to reload the stock K-Jam ROM and install nothing on it and see if the problem persists. As I stated before, it's not carrier specific or device specific. It even happens on the SDA.
I also reset my phone every morning and every afternoon just to be safe.
Alexn2, you seem convinced you know exactly what the problem is. Care to try out an old stock ROM and see if the problem goes away?

Nope. These are not confused issues. Many of us are not running AKU 3 and have the missed call/voice mail indicator issue. I'm running the stock K-Jam ROM and I miss calls every day and have been for many months. I also don't get text messages. And I've only had GPRS enabled on my account for the past couple months so it's definitely not related.
So...
To clarify...
The missed calls/voice mail indicator/text message problem happens on *ALL* versions of AKU. It's also not GPRS related.

Okay, so it sounds like this is a third issue.
I've had many Roms on my phone but I've never experienced this issue.
McHale
27th December 2006, 11:02 PM
yup.
In fact, I've never run anything on my K-Jam except the stock K-Jam ROMS. I ran the shipped one until the update came out. I've been using it ever since.
I can't pinpoint when the problem started because I used my work cells (T-Mobile and Nextel) primarily. I dropped my home phone and am using my personal cell exclusively now and am finding that I miss a lot of calls.
I've done some reg tweaks and the Cingular radio patch but that's it. I'm also not running hardly any software. No today plugins other than the stock ones plus PHM Tray Launch.
Here in a couple weeks I'm getting my Dash CID unlocked so I can put the HTC firmware on it. Once I do that, I'm going to start the testing to determine what's causing the problem. It's not the AKU rev. It has to be something that was installed.

I've been able to replicate the button press issue once. I turned the phone off and connected my 8125 to the speaker system at work (because Beck and Damian Marley are so much better than holiday music). I forgot the phone was off and went home about 9 hours later. I turned the phone back on and was able to connect to my voice mail, but after I connected I was unable to end call or erase message ect... It could be a memory issue but unlikely, I feel it's a problem with registering with the network. I did show sufficient memory at the time, and ran the free memory utility supplied by Faria, and a normal amount of memory was freed. I will investigate further.
BTW I have solved my missed call / voice mails by switch to Cingular's Orange network over Blue.

I'm not asking for your help. You know far less about this problem than you think you do. I'm trying to figure out the problem for the community (which is what forums are for). I already have a Dash and a TyTN on the way. Once the TyTN gets here, I'll never use it again so my problem goes away regardless. I'm blowing the ROM away on my K-Jam so I can isolate the problem to help the community that have contributed so much for the rest of us. I don't want your help.

Comments?
Paul
Good Sh1t...I know exactly the noise you are refering to, and all my gsm phones have had it,but this one seems more prone to it. It does prove that a signal is getting to the phone but it doesn't prove that it is a properly formed "packet" ...

Like many USA Cingular customers with Faria's excellent 3.2 rom I started to miss calls and voicemail alerts. I would miss calls in places with great reception for no apparent reason, not just in places with spotty reception. I think I may have a solution to the problem.
Cingular has been giving customers a new 64k orange colored sim card to replace the older 32k black colored sims. ..........
.............
Well, I started having the same missed call/voice mail notification/DTMF not working issues since I upgraded to the 3.0.0.0 ROM (AKU 3.2) with the 2.47.11 radio ROM a couple of weeks ago.
My Cingular SIM is a 3G SIM and it is white with an orange stripe on the front, and blue on the back. So, does it mean I am on the Orange network? If so, then I have your setup but mine does fail. If not, then does switching between networks (orange/blue) require changing SIMs or is it just an Operator change?
Also, what is this USSD service you mention?

I have a Cingular 8125, and have NEVER had a problem with it, until I recently unlocked it and upgraded to Molski 3.0.0.0
This week, I missed all of my calls, and got no voicemail -- and just figured out today that something was wrong. :p The phone started working again after I placed an outgoing call. But sometimes buttons are non-responsive. At odd times, I find I am unable to hang up....I've had to reset the phone several times since then.
Could the culprit possibly be the actual CID unlock? (I have no real idea, I'm completely new to this -- this is actually my first post)

Hello all,
I was experiencing the missed calls problem after installing 2.47.11 (part of Molski's 3.0.0.0 package).
Almost two weeks ago then I installed the 2.19.11 radio ROM and ever since have not experienced any missed calls as far as I can tell.
Sometimes I have seen my phone ring just once and stop ringing (but vibrating indeed), but I think it is a separate issue, maybe just related to my settings.
So, 2.19.11 & 3.0.0.0 is a winner combination from my perspective.

I have had 2.19.11 since more than two weeks now.

Hello,
I've been trying to downgrade to radio 2.19.11, but experienced some troubles:
1. the upgrade utility appears in Italian
2. It tries to connect for 3-4 minutes (device is in USB mode) and then fails.
3. I've tried to use another upgrade utility, but the file supplied (nk.nbf) doesn't work with them.
Currently I run ROM 5.04.09, radio 1.15.00.
BTW, why do this T-Mobile radio has version 2.19.11? Is it a ROM or radio version?
Edit: I forgot to mention that I have BA device... Can I use Wizard radio with BA?

I haven't had the problem since crossbow came out. And here's why I think:
When I was running the stock I-Mate ROM, everything about it was stock. I then at some point started testing other radios so was doing Radio only upgrades. That's when the problems started I think.
Now, I'm running the latest T-Mobile ROM with the standard radio. All I did was install Crossbow on top of it (and that's just an OS upgrade).
Haven't had a problem since. Time will tell though but I have my fingers crossed.

I've tried everything.... WM6 (ver 1, 2, and 3 of pdviet).... molski's 3.0 rom, faria's AKU 3.2 rom, and now on mobiz's AKU 3.3 rom... Once I switched to an AKU of 3.2+, I started missing calls... no ring, no voicemail notification, DTMF tones not working ("Are you still there?"), and unable to even dial out until a soft reset... then I get deluged with voicemail and text message notifications....

Look around the forum and saw that kyphur posted a method to downgrade the RADIO based on carrier (one of the sticky post). Tried that and haven't had an issue since. I wonder why the 2.47 radio acts the way it does? Anyone have a clue?

Hello friends, before I say anything I want to thank you all for the time and effort put into this forum.
I bought an HTC 8125 from Cingular. The phone is unlocked and overclocked. I have on it installed several popular apps, like Avantgo and a the A2DP patch. One of the reason why I unlocked the phone was to be able to use it in Mexico, my hometown. So, the moment I landed I tried my Telcel (the mexican cell phone carrier service) GSM card to see if it worked. It worked with no issues.
My problems started when I got an invite from the carrier to set up my voicemail service. For some reason, ever since I set it up I get a constant notification of a voice mail, which is not real. I have tried resetting the phone, talked to the carrier and they reset the line, canceled the service, reactived it, cancelled it again, and the notification just wont go away. It I place the sim card into a different, phone the notification is there. Now the interesting part is that if I place another sim card, from the same carrier, just a different number, the notification dissappears.
Is there any way to manipulate the sim's software? The notification is just not consistent, it is was the phone, the notification would be there regardless of the sim card.
One more thing, I removed the sim card and turned the phone on. Even without a sim card the notification is there.
Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks and have a good day.
