Hi all,

Using PUGS rom for my XDAIIi, and went to send a pic of me to my girlfriend so she can show her cousin, and had never done it before. I took the picture, added a short bit of text and hit send. I got the message bubble from the GPRS indicator saying that it was unable to connect. I thought MMS messages were sent over the same network as an SMS?

I tried it via GPRS and got a "sending" message and logo at the top of the screen, but didn't know how long it would take to send, so cancelled it so that I wasn't charged a huge amount (For some reason I may have been, just being on the safe side due to it being my first MMS.) And how long should it take on average?

Can someone help a puzzled MMS newbie?

Thanks :)

Sending MMS is always done by GPRS and you are charged by chunks of 25k (usually). For example a picture file 24k in size would be charged as one MMS (usually around 25p). A picture file of 45k would be charged as two MMS messages because it needs 2 chunks of 25k to send the complete file.

Time to send a message varies depending on file size, network coverage and interface (standard GPRS or EDGE - both types of GPRS) but should not really take more than a minute - usually a few seconds.
