Hi people,
first - Excuse please my english
We (me and Jimm98y) in Czech republic are making ROMs to HTC Wizard and
some peoples say us: "Hey men, Why you don`t write about your ROM to
XDA-dev ?" Many posts on forum ce4you.cz is like:
Thank you people I think that is the best ROM for Wizard ever
So.... We´re here !
Please do NOT remake our ROM, because We were done a hard
work on it and we don´t want any steal of our job
So what´s in?
- OS 2.26.10.2 with aku 2.3 (we think that is still better then 3.2)
- GSM 2.25.11 (I think it is better than 2.47.11)
- HTC logo (surprise)
- Splash screen (Windows mobile loading...)
- ExtROM (many things unusuall things)
- IPL/SPL - not included
That ROM works only on CID-unlockded HTC Wizard
Base features:
IN ROM
- Program to browse contacts via Bluetooth
- Total commander
- OmapClock
- ScreenOff
- WM5torage 1.73
- Smartskey

- Many registry tweaks (only universal)
- Cleartype by default
- deleted much unusable things

Automatic
- Midlet manager (big program - if you do NOT need it - skip install and install extROM manually)
- CAB, that shows version of extROM
- Setup MMS folder
- SMS delivery fix (fix of non-shows names on SMS delivery)
Manually
(in that section there are programs, what you can manually install from the
shortcut in Start/programs/Install)
- Batti 2.1 (CZech program by "David Andrš" to show battery in upper taskbar - now fixed to english version)
- Wifi g enable (cab with one register to quick enable/disable by uninstall
wi-fi b/g)
- Mchat2.1b (icq client)
- .NET cf2
- TCPMP with all plugins included AAC
- Windows live messenger
- And configuration cabs to Czech Republic GPRS, but you don´t mind them
All packed to
- 45 MB free ROM (before customization)
- 42.3 MB free ROM (after customization)
- 32.2 MB RAM (always)
IN rom there is default clock to 252 MHz (by omapclock + smartskey) and you
can quickly in: Programs/overclock set any other "base" clock.
I think there are plenty of things to wrote, but I have not time to next New Years
EVE and here you have a video, what will put your minds about that ROM:
You can download (http://fenix.metronet.cz/johnny/download/kustomizace/ppctuning%20Foto%20templates.cab) some foto templates, because in ROM there is only one
czech home page (http://fenix.metronet.cz/johnny/web/)
you can get our banner (http://fenix.metronet.cz/johnny/web/?page=obrazkovepodpisyROM)

Installed with no problems. Well slight problems with configuring the battery meter as it is in Czeck! - so some trial and error here but it works very well.
Everything works fine with T-mobile in the U.K.
Early days but could be the best ROM yet.
I have tried all the others and up to now have been using
Risidoro. This is similar but may just edge Risidoro into second place.
Very well done.

No it does not.

After having some problems with Molski's, battery drain etc. I installed yours, up until now running smoothly.
Maybe worth considering the crossbow icons, because people are waiting for this for 3 weeks already. It seems very important.....

Thanks guys

Any ideas of what I've done wrong? The whole install went perfectly well and I had my wizard connected untill it said that the install was completely finished...
edit: I've attached it to my regular charger and doesn't work anymore to.. It did worked fine yesterday... Any thoughts?

Unplug the device from USB, reboot it and then plug in the USB cable after it boots.
After the boot is completed or when it gives the startup screen?
edit: It seems that my wizard has given up.. :(
When I turn it on it does all the 'checks', than it gives the Splash screen (Windows mobile loading...), and after that the screen sort of flashes.. It actually turns into stripes, than
it turns into grey -> black, and it boots up again.. It keeps doing this routine.. It looks to me it's sort of broke? When I plug it in via USB it doesn't make any difference...

Try this one i think u flash ur previous ROM which is still locked...it happens before with me.
1.In your PC (task manager) "end the task for wescomm.exe" you can find this in the processes window (this is related with activesync installed on your PC).
2.Get your phone in bootloader mode. Like this : hold the "voice dial" and shortly press the reset button by stylus, release the reset button and wait for the USB color screen
3.Now connect your USB cable to your phone. And start MTTY_updateROM.exe as attached . After open, on Port selection, choose \\.\WCEUSBSH001 and press OK. A window will open with a blank sheet.
4. Type "r2sd all" and hit enter... wait to the end (at end shows "cmd>"). On your phone screen u can follow backup progress... small bar will appear down the RGB screen.
5. To revived your device you have to downgrade it to 1.05 Rom ( ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com..._11210_WWE.exe )
6.Be sure that you have to unlock first your device before you will flash again with another ROM like V2.XX or more.

Great! It looks like it's working perfect..! Only the part with the updater isn't completely clear to me... I can get the USB color screen and hit the "r2sd all" in the blank sheet. It immediately gave the Cmd> and a white bar with USB in it below the screen on my wizard.. ?
(immediately after I entered my way through the "r2sd all" command) It doesn't give anything extra... :(

Hi all,
I flashed that molskis ROM and than Superrom 1.1 WWE by ppctuning.org (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=288074) and I must say:
The SuperROM is the best ROM for wizard, much better than molski, ridsoro, faria etc! There are also changes right in system, but much more.
This ROM is very fast and stable. The system is faster, without overclock (I disabled it), than in other ROMs overclocked to 240MHz! After HR it has 45 MB free ROM and 32 MB free RAM. There are preinstalled some usefull programs (only freeware) and you can optionally install much other programs from extended-rom.

I too have to say I am very happy with this Rom untill now.
Apart from that it is very fast, seems a lot smoother than the others I have tested. Will watch the Battery for a few days to see if the draining issue comes up too like in the 3.2 ROM's I have been using

Hey mans - I think that is quite offtopic.
BTW - I have fixed the version of batti 2.1 to English version.
Having now used this ROM for a couple of days I am convinced that this is the best ROM yet. I have had absolutely no problems with it and it is very fast and stable. Even better now that Batti is in English.
I use TomTom navigator daily and it has never worked better.
I highly recommend this ROM but DON'T EVEN CONSIDER INSTALLING THIS ROM UNTIL YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY SURE THAT YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
Read the "Sticky" A Definitive Guide to Unlocking G3 Wizards. If you don't understand it or can't be bothered to read it please stick with your existing ROM. Many people have "bricked" their Wizards because they are too impatient and try to upgrade without really knowing what they are doing.
I'll repeat this - Not that it will do any good.
DON'T EVEN CONSIDER INSTALLING THIS ROM UNTIL YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY SURE THAT YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
Please, Please Please. Use this thread only for comments on the ROM. Not I have broken my Wizard because I haven't a clue what I am doing.
If you are unfortunate and do have bad flash and it can happen to the best of us. All the information you need to recover from it is included in the "stickies"
Happy New Year to all.

Hi
Though i have unlocked the CID of my O2 Mini S and have used other Roms( Moliski, Faria) without any problems i seem to be having difficulty installing this Rom.The process of upgrading goes without any problem but when it comes to the Third screen there is a " Whooshing sound" and my wizard stops over there.I have also tried backing up the Rom on a SD card and flash it using mtty utility but no luck.I am sure that my wizard is CID unlocked. Any Suggestions??

Ok, here is how i solved the problem (was exactly the same, didn't recognize USB, didn't boot but kept on doing the same routine with the flashing):
Do the following steps (as described by Drug_Store in Post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=276963&highlight=MTTY_updateROM.exe & arliejoseph earlier) anything i did differently added in CAPITALS:
1- I tought that a SD backup was needed, and yes it is. But u can use your own phone and your own SD to do it.
2- Get a clean SD card (in qtek 9100 / Htc Wizard case is MiniSD) with 128MB (some people say 64MB, but I personally used a 128MB, maybe a 64MB is enough)
3- Kill (task manager) wescomm.exe (this is related with activesync installed on your PC). Insert the blank SD card on the phone.
4- Get your phone in bootloader mode. Like this : Phone powered off, press Camera button + Power On, will enter in bootloader mode (RGB screen).
5- Now connect your USB cable to your phone. And start MTTY_updateROM.exe (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/uploads/romupdate.rar). After open, on Port selection, choose \\.\WCEUSBSH001 and press OK. A window will open with a blank sheet.
6- Type "r2sd all" and hit enter... (THIS DID NOT WORK FOR ME AT THE FIRST TIME EITHER. HOWEVER IT DID AFTER REBOOTING MY PC. REMEMBER TO KILL wescomm.exe AFTER REBOOTING) wait to the end (TAKES ABOUT 1-2 MINUTES) (at end shows "cmd>"). On your phone screen u can follow backup progress... small bar will appear down the RGB screen.
6.5- UNPLUG USB CABLE AFTER IT IS DONE!
7- Power off the phone (or remove battery), enter bootloader mode (camera button + power on) and this time RGB won´t appear right away. Will ask if u want to "download SD image", press voice dial button to agree, and writting will begin. Wait to the end. DO NOT RESTART DEVICE AFTERWARDS!
PLUG IN USB CABLE STILL SEING RGB SCREEN! PC SHOULD DETECT THE WIZARD, ACTIVESYNC DID NOT THOUGH! (if it doesn't, remove USB cable, repeat step 7 completely!)
8 - DOWNGRADE TO 1.05 Rom ( ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com..._11210_WWE.exe ) STILL SEING THE RGB SCREEN!
This is how it worked for me. I am at ROM 1.05 and activesync recognizes the device again.
Greetings,
A.

I installed it last night after running Molski's rom. To me it seems awfully similiar performance wise. Very quick though. I like how stripped these ROMs are becoming. I am running it with Wisbar (I'm addicted to teh cascading start menu), Today Agenda and ILauncher, and it seems to be very peppy. I get 28,612 kB free after a hard reset, but it whittles down to about 20,600 after a days use and using Oxios CloseApps.
What I do is install SPB Backup and get a new ROM all set up, then run a backup. i do this for each ROM I play with and keep the backup file. Then if I want to go back to Molski's, I flash and restore teh Molski 2.26 backup. Makes it a lot easier than installing a bunch of programs and remembering the serials. (But I do keep a bunch of cabs on my SD card as well as a list of the serials, just in case.)

ok... You don't need activesync to do a ROM upgrade/downgrade...
Push the two buttons on the right side while pushing the reset button. That should bring you to the bootloader screen. Make sure that your SD-card slot is empty, and plug in the USB-cord. Now the word USB should appear in the lower right corner. NOW, start the RUU and install the 1.X rom.
that's all you need if u can't connect thru Activesync after installing the superom from 1.x rom like stupid me did :)

It's not bad for a first ROM. CF2's not there. Temporary Internet, cookies, etc not put on SC. Internet Explorer set for the large font.
I've consistently found myself going back to Molski's when I need a stable clean ROM.
btw, Molski's possibly coming out with a new one soon I think, keep an eye out <wink> ...

okay after couple of days of using superrom, I have some observations:
1. It takes a lot of time to reset(>1 min) which is annoying. Molski 2.26 rom took way less than that(with the same softwares installed). Is there any tweak to make it reset faster? Any suggestions?
2. Sometimes after reset, it starts sktools automatically even when its not setup to start after reset. and it doesnt happen always, quite weird, uh..
3. The phone looses connection in my office elevator, which I didnot notice with Molski ROM before. Is this the radio?
Overall its clean and stable with lots of RAM available. With same softwares installed I am left with 20MB+ with this ROM, where with Molski ROM it was 13MB+.

1 minute booting time = you have get back a backup from different ROM
Please, do NOT writing a backup to that ROM - it is totally unrecomended !!
That ROM has a lot of changes in registry and writing backup from different ROM is very bad.
I booting around 33 seconds to usable screen (I don`t use PIN).
1 minute is totally nonsence
And that is not a first ROM - that is 16. after:
beta 1
beta 2

ROM 1.2

Superrom beta1
Superrom beta2

I must say that this is the fastest ROM by far.
After installing my favorite applications, i still have about 27mB of RAM left.
One thing that annoys me tough, is that IM NOT ABLE TO DEACTIVATE SMART DIALLING!
Why?
ALSO: When disabling Clear Type, why are messages shown in Clear Type?
Celar Type sucks when using small fonts, and I dont want it!
Exept from that, this rom is awsome! :-)

How to get rid of OmapClock ??
I cannot delete omapclock.exe from \windows
You don't need to delete it and since it is included in the OS Rom Image you don't save any memory by deleting it.
If you don't want to overclock your device then simply don't call omap clock.
If using Batti then don't set it to overclock.
If using SmartSKeys then don't include the omap settings in your ini file.

to disable CLEARTYPE in SMS and IE set:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Int ernet Settings\ClearTypeText = 0 (DWORD decimal)
If you want disable clock, than go to
Windows/start up
and there delete omapclock.lnk and you can also setup smartskey.ini in /windows to use VOLKEY to control volume instead of moveing in menus

I started with xelencins 2.26 tmob rom then switched to farias 3.0.0.0, but the 3.2 roms arent ready for full-time use yet(IMOP), So Ive tried molskis last 2.26 and its nice but I enjoyed only having to install like 4-6 apps after hard resetting faria's, molski's doesnt have all the features I like covered, I'd like to try farias' 2.26 w/ crosbow icons, but I'm sick of waiting, and what happens when noobs bugg faria to death and he packs up his toys again and goes home, the noobie part is a definite, faria's response is not. I not downing the guy, its his rom and he can do what he wants, It was just disappointing, that rom was great and I look forward to this new release whenever it goes public, but alas I'm hard resetting now and probably won't be quick to do it for a few weeks at least...
Ill post my results if they differ much from the tons of "works great ... blah, blah, blah"
Thanks for sharing the rom, I'm just starting out messing with ppc in depth and haven't learned to cook roms yet(did palm os4.5 and under, back in '01) so I must rely on the kindness of folks like you who help make the HTC community great, this is my first HTC and I'm sticking with them, as long as the community is this strong, the potential of these devices is boundless.

Things they are a happening...
Umm. Didn't have a very good look. CF2 is there!

the only bit that mentions anything is this "That ROM works only on CID-unlockded HTC Wizard" that line does not state wether it's G3 only or G4
why is it so hard for you to say yes or no ?

If you have been using this forum for so long then I have a few questions for you:
WHY have you only recently registered?
WHY do you not understand what it means when a Rom does not include the Bootloader?
WHY is it too difficult for you to read enough about your device so that #2 isn't an issue.
WHAT have you given back to the forum or are you simply a "Gimme User" (this is exactly what your post makes you sound like). Now let's keep this thread on topic or some posts will get shredded to clear-cut the side discussion.

And that is not a first ROM - that is 16. after:
beta 1
beta 2
ROM 1.0
ROM 1.1
ROM 1.2
Superrom alpha
Superrom beta1
Superrom beta2
Superrom RC1
Superrom RC2
Superrom RC3
Superrom RC4
Superrom RC5
Superrom 1.0
Superrom 1.1
and 5 Czech ROMs
Sorry Johnnnnnnnnnyy, I unistalled Windows Live and now the booting time is indeed 30-40sec. Anyone else experience this with Windows Live?
And if I cld find a way to disable smart dial, I would be more than happy with this ROM. Because smart dial includes the contacts from SIM which I dont want. Is there a way to disable SIM contacts in smart dial?
Thanks a bunch for such a great ROM.

Ok congrats boys
Nice job
Got the rom on for 3 days now (switched from Molski 3.2)
So far impressed
Clean, Stable and with memory to spare
Some issues
Could not auto configure SMS and MMS settings after flashing. I had to manually put the values in, even for SMS service centre????
I have been plugging it into my PC regularly so not sure how much battery it uses
Had to run Registry Wizard to get some much liked settings back- ie cache on SD etc.
Not able to use pass through internet while on active sync
I miss the internet sharing feature of 3.2, any chance of you boys putting it there on the ROM?
Does this RoM have USB host capability.I do not have the necessary adaptors to test this. I saw it done on the Universal with AKU3 and have wanted it on wizard.
Cheers- great effort and thanks for sharing.

Internet via AS is of course possible. You can Reset PC and connect again. Sometimes can help:
start/settings/connection/USBtoPC
You can install batti 2.1 to show battery and setup to do not show charging.

I had the same problem when I finish the install which I suppose just result from the overclocking. Johnnnnnnnnnny had overclocked the device to 252MHz in the rom. But in fact, not every HTC Wizard is able to work right in such a frequency. My cingular 8125 work fine just under 240MHz. In 252MHz it would just be OK for a while but then it "stops"! You can lower the frequency and have a try since this works fine for my Wizard.

I was tomarrow connected via Wi-fi (802.11 b) and it works fine. It might depend on the tweak to change you wi-fi to 802.11 g - only.. Then it isn`t working on 802.11 b APs
And about overclock: I have had many wizards in my hand and all of them works fine on 276 MHz, but in next version the overclock will put down to 216 MHz ;-)

I have played with this ROM for two days now and everything works fine - it's fast and stable, the black skin looks great. I recommend it to everyone.
I've only got one small problem: I often use a bluetooth on-ear headset.
Previously, with default blue skin, on the phone pad screen there was a small headphone symbol — it meant that I had my headset turned on and sound would go through it.
Now — with the black skin — I can't see whether Wizard is paired with the headset or not.
Has anybody got a solution for this problem?

You have the screen alignment with every ROM so it's not the ROM problem. You should send the device in for repair.

Typically I have to re-align my screen a few times the first week that I install a rom because after a day or two there is enough drift that I can't actually click on what I am trying to. But after a week or two it stabilizes and I don't have to worry again until I flash a different rom.

Hi all,
I have downloaded the ROM and tried to flash but can not make it happen.
I am using Mini S, G4 (don't know that it is CID unlocked or CID locked but I can upgrade from 1.5 to Molski 3.2),
ROM: Molski 3.2 and now want to change to Superrom.
After I connect the Mini S to laptop, the Active Sync recognize it as usual. And I open the set up file of Superrom and run it, the Mini S
restart and stop by 3 colors with IPL/SPL, then some mins later, the error appears as ERROR [260]: UPDATE ERROR, check Readme
it clarifys this error as
"ERROR [248~260] : UPDATE ERROR
This error occurs when there is an “open port error” before upgrading the CE ROM image.
Solution: You can reset the device and run RUU again. If you still encounter an “OPEN PORT ERROR” again, reset your computer and try again."
I have tried to plug into another USB port but the error is still the same.
Who can give me the solution for this problem ? :(
P/S: I also try to downgrade to v 1.5 but still have the problem as above.

It seems like this ROM doesn't want to install to G4 devices, yet. I think if it used the RUU that's in Italian (v2.5.2) it would work fine. I've been having real troubles flashing it to my G4, and I'm waiting for a re-release...

Hi people,
first - Excuse please my english

Hi ! Actually I unlocked CID SIM my phone and installed T-Mobile 2.26 ROM using this guide "[READ FIRST] The Definitive Guide to Unlocking & Rom Upgrading G3 Wizards" , what do I need to Install your Rom? Do I Need a downgrade again?
Thanx for your time.

you must have CID unlocked and IPL / SPL higher two (IPL/SPL > 2)

There are some nice programs included in this rom, can't wait to test them out (windows live messenger) but i have the same problem as reported by some, can't connect to my ap using wlan :-( Have tested with other roms in which it is no problem, just providing the network key and it connects. This rom detects the ap fine but never connects after giving the network key?

your CID should stay unlocked if it was previously unlocked. I have read several times that CID only needs to be performed once in a Wizards life, but it doesn't hurt to do multiple times if you are unsure.
If you aren't sure then you really should go through the steps to unlock. It doesn't hurt to do more than once (though it isn't necessary - if it is already unlocked)
If you have a G3 there are 2 threads that are stickied that will give you what you need. If you have a G4 then you will have to pay to get it done.

Thanks! Can't wait, your ROM looks amazing! :D
BTW, it says "This utility cannot be used to upgrade your phone. Please use a newer utility." or something like that.
Does that mean I need to downgrade first, THEN flash the superrom?
I had the same problem and i unzipped the exe into a folder then did the same with moski 3 rom and coppied the ruu over to superroms directory then ran the bat file and everything worked fine
G4 unlocked
hope this helps

If you have unlocked the device using the definitive guide before, u dont need to unlock again. You can directly flash this ROM.
And if you have doubts your device is locked, u can do the procedure again, it wldnt harm. But in my opinion, if u did it before, u will not need to do it now or ever to cross-grade to any ROM.

this rom is fast and has great features. only problem is screen alignment. it is always losing alignment even after aligning screen! so frustrating! making it so difficult to use. had the same problem with molski's 2.3 and then 3.0 roms. could someone pls tell me what to do?
This is a well known HARDWARE issue with some of (mostly the earlier) wizards
send it back, if possible
This is a nice rom it runs nice and fast and with a smaller memory footprint than some others I've tried, Id like to see "startup manager" and "clear memory" apps and I like to have the so called "tray" icons but thats a cosmetic issue, the others are just about must haves..

I have the same problem.. Also another thing, After the fresh install my calendar worked fine.. Now after a few days (probably after my wizard with SuperRom has synced with my pc, but I'm not sure that's causing it) I get an error when opening the Calendar via the regular button at the leftbottom of the screen.. Error is:
"The file ' HTCCalendar' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed wth a trusted certificte, or one of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file."
When I do a fresh flash with SuperRom, or 'Clear Storage' it's back, but that's not so very convenient... :(

If I use security on the router using the same settings on the Wizard which was using with the Molski ROM (WPA-PSK /TKIP) the PDA keeps connecting for a lot of time, but does not connect.
I used already a lot of ROMs but there was no problem with the wifi connection.

2. If you look at the wifi authentication on the Wizard, you find 4 possibilities :

Wich one you would suggest to use ? (And what should be used on the router to pairing ? )

Hi,
I had a strange experience last night - trying to flash to the superrom.
I´m running a danish ROM (newest official one), and I thought that I would give it a try with superrom, because people talk so good about it.
I downloaded the new ROM and began with the flashing.
First time it said that there where communication errors. I rebooted my PC and tried again.
Second time it began counting in the percentage bar, and when it reached 14 %, I got a BSOD (blue screen of death) on my PC. Now I could feel a little sweat on my forehead ... ;-)
The only thing I could see on my Qtek was the bootloader screen.
Finally I managed to flash the new ROM, but now comes the strange part.
When the Qtek rebooted it was with my danish ROM!!
The startup screen told me a lot of information (with OK marks at the right), and the Windows load screen was also different, from my "old" one.
I then rolled my backup on the Qtek, and was back where I began :-)
Can someone tell me what went wrong - why was it the danish ROM after the flash, and why is the startscreens from the new ROM, and is there any possible way to flash with the superrom?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards

Are you able to lock your router down to MAC address control only - if so just use that and only allow your devices MAC to connect wirelessly (plus any other devices you want to use).

I think I would be able to use the MAC address - I will try, but I think it is also a problem if you are somewhere outside and want to use public hotspot : in a hotel for example.

1. Make sure you have a current version of WinRar installed
2. Download the superrom 1.1 .exe file
3. Download Molski 3.0.0.0
4. RIGHT-CLICK on both files and select the "Extract files..." option
5. Replace the .DLL file in Superrom folder with one from Molski
Run the .bat file (it's the one with the picture of a small gear)

I'd like to see more freeware apps and hacks and that sort of thing in an install folder to be installed by the user if they want it and then just delete the install dir once they selected all the addons they want, I loved that I only had to add like 3-5 apps to the faria 3.0 rom to get it the way I like it, but since they would be user installable the users who want a cleaner install can have it also...
great job anyway, its a very fast rom, tho Ive had siome more lockups than usal, but im overclocking more than I did before, so that could be the culprit.

We (Jimm98y and I) are thinking about crossbow icons, but we mean that will eats much free space and performance. About 1.5MB for icons and that must load every reset and write in RAM -> Performance will be damaged :-(.
About Crossbow today theme: It is really nice on Crossbow, but the WM 5.0 must have bars only one-color (without any programs like WAD) and it isn`t really nice :-(
Problem with Wi-Fi: A have get back some dlls what can do that, bu I can`t try it anywhere :-(

I think it may have to do with overclocking, why do all apps have different cpu speed steps different?
Im not sure if im gonna stick with this rom or if im gonna flash molski's, Im getting sick of waiting on whichever rom faria is gonna release a 2.x or 3.x, his roms rock, but the release procedures leave a bit to be desired :) If I can ferret out the offenders ill stick with this rom as I think its a pinch faster than molskis 2.x

Well done!!!
Just bought a Wizard a few weeks ago and put this rom on it. Before I upgraded I was disappointed with the speed of the device but since upgrading the rom, its running very fast. THUMBS UP.
However, during the past two days it's restarted 3 times. Also, wifi is very unreliable since upgrading. Basically what is happening, is it keeps saying "connecting to network".
Have I done something wrong or is anyone else experiencing these problems?
Thanks,
Batman

It it will not, then I must find the dll, what I delete from ROM.
The wi-fi works on unsecured connections, but WPA - secured does not work :-(
Johnnnnnnnnnny, if you send me the dll's you removed I'll take a look in IDA for any WiFi related functions. Perhaps if I can find them I can create a version of the dll with only those functions included.
Just a thought. If you want me to try PM me. I'll need the dlls.

I`m not such noobe. I have deleted only 4 dll`s and all of them are about MSNmobile. I`m not sure, why the WPA doesn`t work, but I have get back dlls into 1.2 ROM and we`ll see

Right. I understood you to mean that you thought there might be functions included in those msn dll's that were required for wpa. I didn't mean to imply you were such noobe.

Johnnnnnnnny...
What "other" enhancements/fixes are you putting in the 1.2 rom besides "hopefully" fixing WPA WiFi? I love your rom but WPA is a must for me. I look forward to 1.2. Thanks!!!

in 1.1 version is MSN removed totally (all files and registry), but It could be necessary to WPA :-(

tried flashing your rom to my dutch t-moile wizard G3, upgrade works flawlessy, upon booting it shows the ppctuning screen, followed by the XP like loader screen with progress bar, but then the device starts as if nothing new was installed. It's back to the Dutch language, and the old versioning.
Device is unlocked, as i also use a sim from a different operator.
I've seen the issue with some other users in this forum, but did not see a resolution to it...besides flashing back.
did i miss something? why does the upgrade only do half of what it should do?
thx
Johnnnnnnnnnny

SIM of another operator doesn`t mean the Wizard is Unlocked
SIM-lock isn`t CID-lock !!

14th January 2007, 08:57 PM
Johnny,
I am aware of that, i do actually read instructions. I added the sim unlock thing as extra information, as i did not see anything mentioned about it.
but i just reflashed back to my original tmobile rom, upgraded to the latest, and tried the upgade again. it works now.
Sorry if i anoyed you, next time i will be more specific, and add everything i *did* and *did not* to the message.
thx for your efforts J&J, and i will consider a donation if this rom turns out to be usefull to me.

it happened to me to when downgraded to 1.08 and upgraded straight to this superRom.. here's what I did to fix:

Push the two buttons on the right side while pushing the reset button. That should bring you to the bootloader screen. Make sure that your SD-card slot is empty, and plug in the USB-cord. Now the word USB should appear in the lower right corner. NOW, start the RUU and install the 1.X rom.
second:
flash to an official 2.xx ROM for your version of the wizard
last:
flash to SuperROM 1.1
Good Luck!

Hello ! I've been using this rom couple of weeks now...and I must say, it's good, not perfect, but really good. I mean, my RAM gets to about 32,2 when not using the device...stable, fast...nice work.
Tough, I have a "problem" if I might call it that...i can't assign another ringtone, and frankly oldphone sucks
I've tried with couple of aplications, cause' the "sound and notif..." won't let me choose another ringtone besides oldphone  ...and no effect. When I change the ringtone, it won't ring. It shows the caller...but ...silent . Mabe i'm missing something, please tell me it's only me who is having this problem.
Please don't jump at me to read ...read and read...I didn't have time right now, and it's just a simple question:
Does anybody else encountered this, and if so, what is the solution, assuming there is one .Thx
I really like the ROM, and I don't wanna change it because this stupid prob.

First impressions of this rom were good: the speed was nice, the free space on the device, and the default themes for Windows and the Dialer.
It ends there though. Having tried to use this for a week or so, it's potentially the worst I've ever used on my device. I've been running with a beta 3.x for a while, and despite its lack of speed, it was far more stable than Superrom.
I've had frequent lockups, I've had to reset my clock twice, the calendar softkey doesn't work, flight mode only works when it feels like it, and reception is far worse than before.
Unimpressed. I've tried clocking it back down to its default, but it's still very unstable.
The search for the perfect rom continues. Nice try guys.

 I'm feeling really silly. I thought I already tried this...I dunno what happened. Thx , it worked ....
About dan13l , don't worry, I really like this ROM, mabe there's somethin about the installed programs that makes his ppc unstable. I tried allot of roms, and I honestly say this is by far the best. Don't get me wrong, I liked the others too, but this one fits me right. Even wireless network works, wireless Internet...and I like the dialer skin...I don't like omap clock ... it doesn't show the true speed, it never did on my wizard...I use battery status (I deleted omap clock from startup), it's more accurate and it saves battery.
Thx for the reply, and sorry for asking such a silly question, I was sure I already tried that :o

Finally managed to upgrade to superrom, but now got a weird problem.
When I use the "Lock all buttons expect power button" in settings\buttons, all buttons are locked, even when the device is on.
With my old ROM this feature worked without problems ... ;-(

Seriously, aesthetically this ROM is great; I really, really, really like the dialer skin and the default theme.

In terms of memory allocation, this is the best rom. Also I think WIFI works the best with AKU 2.x overall than with AKU3.x/WM6.
Just wondering, how did you manage to make available memory to above 30M. Also, how do I debug the gradual memory leakage problem. I have seen the available memory slowly decrease. especially after I close some opened application I still didn't see the memory fully released.
I am learning to cook my own customized rom, hope I can learn from the gurus.
Thanks in advance!

I too have the problems with active-sync showing up as if has been opened. I just close it, but it reopens itself and is vivible after wake-up. That is my only minor problem. Other than that, the ROM is great. I have tried most of the others, but this seems to have the best all around performance and not need all of the tweaks like the others. Thanks Johnnnnny for the rom.
If anyone has heard or has fixed this problem, a point in the right direction would be appreciated.

Had the same issue with my Qtek 9100 after install of this ROM. Made the following entries to each key in this location
Volume Registry Location = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > HTC > AUDIOGAIN
EARPHONE_UPLINK_VOLUME = 19
EXTERNAL_RECORDING_GAIN = 16
HEADSET_UPLINK_VOLUME = 13
INTERNAL_RECORDING_GAIN = 06
RECEIVE_UPLINK_VOLUME = 18
Now sounds great (don't know which entry or combination is the most responsible) Found this solution somewhere in the forums. Audiogain would make a good search if you want to find the original thread.

I've tried it all, there is just no way to get this working on a CID locked G4 Wizard.
Things that didn't work:
Intalling Activesync 4.1
Manual RUU process
Extracting rom to mix it up with the factory rom and seeing what will work
My version is a Qtek 9100, ROM 2.18.7.6 NLD . There are supposed to be no locks on it what so ever!!!! GRRRR..
Anyone know how to fix it, I really want to run the Superrom..

OK, I'm a total noob, I've just spent weeks wading through the forums trying to find out everything I can. I've got a CID-Locked (I think) G4 Qtek 9100 Wizard, supplied by Vodafone NL 2 months ago. It has (had) a Dutch language ROM and I just wanted it to speak English to me. In the process of trying to install a new telephone skin, I screwed up, and was forced into a hard reset, so I decided to take the plunge while the beast was still in a virgin state and go for a new ROM.
I read the whole of this thread, and the ones about CID Locking etc, and finally I went looking on Johnnnnnny's web site. In the FTP area I found a version for CID-Locked G4 at http://fenix.metronet.cz/johnny/download/ROM%201.1%20CID-locked%20edition%20by%20ppctuning.org.exe which I downloaded, and eventually, after lots of fear and trepidation, and after securing a pristine Dutch installable from Vodafone (in case of disasters), I flashed the 1.1 from johnnnnny and ..........................................
It works .. It's sweet ... it's better then the factory original ...
Wisbar Advance 2 runs, and skins nicely with the silverado skin I've always used on my PDAs. Only gripe there is a Wisbar one. Sometimes the bar image doesn't restore after leaving TomTom, but that happens on any installation I've had.
SBP plus runs inside Wisbar Adv. Desktop without a glitch.
Tom Tom is happy, (and fast since I also installed oMapclock and run it at 252) but I would warn against using BTAudioNav with it. I experienced a considerable lag when BTAN was running - long enough to get me photographed BEFORE I got the POI warning about the speed cam !!
All in all, I'm a very happy cookie ... I can talk English to my new toy and it's faster, smarter and cleaner than before !! .. I'm bitten by the bug !!
It's a great job Johnnnnnnny ... but can you translate something for me please ...
The front page on ppctuning.org site starts with "!!! Nyní můžou majitelé CID-locked zařízení flashovat i bez unlocku !!! - návod naleznete na našich stránkách" ...
Is this something I need to know or worry about???. ... There seem to be a lot of !!! characters and the mention of CID-Locked.

Not sure what the deal is but I'm having issues with playing mp3 ringtones. Ringtones that ran fine on previous rom (xenecin's) refuse to play under superrom...converting them to wav works and the default ringtone (oldphone) which is a wma also plays. Any ideas?
Behavior is as follows: Select a mp3 ringtone for incoming call..click on play...you hear nothing...click on Ok button...screen reverts the ringtone to oldphone....and then you can save. I tried 5 different ringtones.

I often use a bluetooth on-ear headset.
Previously, with default blue skin, on the phone pad screen there was a small headphone symbol — it meant that I had my headset turned on and sound would go through it.
Now — with the black skin — I can't see whether Wizard is paired with the headset or not.
Has anybody got a solution for this problem?
I would like to know the solution to this as well. With the headset that I have (and I have only ever used one so I'm not sure if it's the same with all other headsets) it does not give any audio or visual feedback that it has reconnected to the last phone it was using. With this rom, the only way I can tell it's connected is to start calling someone, if I hear the usual dialling out sounds then I know it's connected. However, I don't want to call people at random just to say "sorry, I was just seeing if my bluetooth headset was connected, bye!"
So please, anyone have any ideas on how to change the dialler skin without using another app (eg ETEN dialler). Or, preferably, to change that black headset icon to white so I can still use this great black skin :)

Is there any real fix for this yet? Soft reset doesn't fix it for me (and shouldn't be necessary!).
I just flashed this ROM for the first time yesterday, and this exact same thing happens to me with the soft key. However, it does not happen if I open Calendar in the Programs folder, or if I open Calendar in \Windows with Resco Explorer - so I know the Calendar program works!
I tried creating new Calendar.lnk and putting it in \Windows, but that didn't help.
If you look at the properties of Calendar.lnk in the Programs folder, it shows poutlook.exe with Target: set to :MSCALENDAR?outres.dll,-100002.
What's that all about?

If you look at the properties of Calendar.lnk in the Programs folder, it shows poutlook.exe with Target: set to :MSCALENDAR?outres.dll,-100002.
What's that all about?
i have experienced the same problem. i install sktools then i go to the 'tune up' menu, select the button bar at the very right end, and reassign the soft key button, like reselect the calendar item. i found this coincidentally. hope this would help you

i have used superrom for a few weeks now and love it...
i do have a question though. every once in awhile my phonepad "sticks", i cannot access anything, i cannot close anything, all i am left to do is reset. some days i go without an issue, other days i reset 7, 8, 9 times or more. it is only when i am on the dialpad page that this "sticking" occurs.
any suggestions to correct this?
I have photo contacts pro installed (perhaps that could be a problem), but otherwise have only a few apps installed and a ton of space available. my phone is clocked to 228 standard, and running radio 2.47 which is more stable for my area, on tmo usa.
thanks in advance for any help.

perhaps no is replying because
a) no one had this problem, so they don't know how to resolve it. which implies that photo contacts pro IS the problem. Have you tried not using it?
b) nearly everyone has moved on to wm6 and they don't monitor this thread

I have tried removing it, and it still hangs. the reason i am using the superrom over wm6 is because a few of my 3rd party apps will not currently run in wm6...and nobody seems to know if it is the 3rd party apps or a glitch in wm6...and i am quite fond of these 3rd party apps.

when did you last do a hard reset? you're probably going to have to remove all progs and install one at a time until you find the culprit. two can apps work fine on their own but can cause problems used together. the phone/radio has a separate processor, so work out which apps use that one.
