ROM Upgrade -> Vendor ID Error

Hello! I've tried to change the language on my mda compact2(bought from Austria) from German to English but while installing the T-Mobile 2.6.2.110 UK ROM "Vendor ID error" appears. What should i do?:confused: I hope you have solution for my problem thanks

Extract the Rom file to a folder on your pc.
than download this file: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=30778&d=1160429997 and Extract it into the Rom folder.
than connect your charmer to pc and double click on "ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.exe".
that should do the trick.

This archive says that the file is corrupted :( Anyway, i found some posts of Ulymanchild who had the same problem as me so here is his solution:

1.Down load HTC_Charmer _upgradeut_noid
2.http://www.windowsceportal.hu/tartalom/programok/htc_charmer_upgradeut_noid.zip
3.Download Any Charmer ROM Utility.
4.Extract nk.nbf from the Charmer ROM Utility.
5.Place nk.nbf to the HTC_Charmer upgradeut_noid.
6.Get the upgrade with no ID Errors.
7.GOT TO LOVE IT!

to get the nk.nbf, just open the executable rom package in winRAR

3. Download Charmer ROM from here: ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Charmer/Shipped_ROMs/
4. Right click on the file you just downloaded and Extract to an empty folder on your desktop (you will find in that folder the nk.nbf you are looking for).
5. make sure your phone is connected to pc via activesync, copy the file I attached to this post (ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.exe) in to this folder, and double click on it.
That should do the job.

Well, I want to upgrade my rom on htc charmer too. I understand how to, but I have the newest Czech WM5 in only-setup-file rom, how can I extract this ? :( Or I need only the RARed or ziped roms, so the setup files of roms are unusable ? thanks for help

Do you want to upgrade from Czech to WWE?
When you right click on the setup file, do you have the extract option?

Please help me! I have the WM6.1 ROM made by vlodeck and nocturne on my MDA Compact II.

I want to downgrade to WM5. With shipped roms i can't, coz i get Vendor ID error ofcz. If i wanna use the Charmer AKU2 upgrade, then it says, that i need another updater (error no.: 300). If i use the noid one, then it says something about missing files, and tells me to re-download the updater. I did it but it still says the same. Please help me, its very important. Thx : andor44

I think there is no hardspl for Charmer.You can CID unlock it easily with lokiwiz02,if your IPL,SPL is V1 or V2(f.e.:2.26).
Post the error code with noid or post a screenshot.

Hi!

Weird,because cooked ROMs usually can't be installed on CID locked devices.
Try to CID unlock it with lokiwiz02,then retry upgrade with AKU2.
Post IPL,SPL!

Well i don't know the exact source of the problem :D:D. I'll upload a proper fix-kit for people who messes up something... ;)

Here is the procedure, how to flash original WM5 ROM to charmer in case of needed:

1. You need the official ROM update from T-Mobile: http://www.tm-phonedownloads.com/files/RUU_Charmer_38221_382116_026921_TMO_UK_WWE_Ship.ex e
2. Charmer NOID utility: http://data.hu/get/357429/htc_charmer_upgradeut_noid.zip.html

Unzip htc_charmer_upgradeut_noid.zip, then extract nk.nbf from RUU_Charmer_38221_382116_026921_TMO_UK_WWE_Ship.ex e (Simply rename it to rar and open with WinRAR. Inside it you can find the nk.nbf file) and put them together. Now you can flash your charmer just as you can do it officially ;)
