Crossbow has been released to some designated parts of the developers/partners community, and is currently being tested on the Universal (among others). While it seems highly unlikely that the Universal will ever see a formal Crossbow ROM, I can at least confirm that by all standards it is not ready for public use yet. It contains far too many bugs still.

I understand, but please stop me if I´m wrong, ok?

1.What is the next operating system to update to our machines? I thought it was Crossbow and quiestion no1 leads us to question no2.
2. Crossbow = WM5 SE or WM06?

Independently the future operating systems we will get soon or later, do u think the universal will be old-fashioned or not full-updated to the operating systems that are coming?

Regards :)

Correct. While Crossbow indeed has been made available to be tested on the Universal platform, it will not be released formally for the Universal by any of the OEMs. Economically simply not interesting enough for them.

Crossbow will not make it to the end-user before end Q1 mid Q2 '07, and by then we will more than likely have seen the introduction of the HTC Omni by then.

So, the HTC Omni will be the substitute/the brand-new Universal????
Personally, I don´t mind if Athena is the next Universal bc in my opinion is not "that better" than the Universal but I will mind if our there were no possibility to oficially-update our machines to the latest operating systems.

See u guys

P.S.: I´m texting u from the future bc I´m now in the year 2007

The HTC was, is and will still be the Universal's successor. The Athena will be a completely different model for a different audience, and will be more of a UMPC alternative.

Hi! I'm Universal (Qtek9000) user, and I have problems with receiving SMS Messages. My former ROM was a Qtek 1.30.77 original, now I use the Helmi's v 1.2 and 1.3 but I often couldn't get SMS Messages. After installing some features (e.g.: changebacklightcommand.cab) is my PDA no more able to receive the SMS. Only the HR helps in this case.
With the ROM 1.30.77 freesed sometimes the system after incoming an SMS.
So, if you can tell me some solution, i would be happy! Thankyou!:)

Think the consumers in US, especially the QTEK users in US may be able to give the QTEK guys some pressure to release it. Consumer is king in US.

QTEK in US release the A2DP which till now still not "Officially Released" in any other part of the world and we are using HACK from some good guys in this forum.

Put more pressure, we may get an official release?

Anyway, official or not, M$ Software is always buggy, the whole worlds knows. Have you guys ever count how many service pack it is sent for XP? Take it or leave it, thats M$.

Plus pressure to release devices to market, the OEM & service provider part of the software can be even more buggy.

That again, we need all the good souls here to help each other out.

Anyway, they are also watching us to get their product improved.

Keep up the spirit

Happy 2007

The HTC Omni most likely will be a little thinner and it will run wm6 (crossbow) alone those two facts would be enough arguments for me to pay the 200 € (that's probably will be what tmobile germany will charge for it in connection with a new contract) for it.

Sorry you !. Because I don't see problem with SMS Messages in any ROM version ( O2, QTEK, I'mate, Indra, Helmi, IVAN ).

Who can help him ?. Please help !.

My Universal is almost 14 months old now. Initially I did have the problem of incoming SMS causing the device to freeze. I used to get some of the SMS's but at other times the device used to freeze requiring a soft reset.

Finally what I discovered was that I had removed the Messaging icon from the Today screen. The moment I put it back everything is okay since then. Say in the last 1 year not a single SMS has caused freeizing of the device and I reveive a lot of messages during the day.

I don't know if this holds for you but if you do not have the messaging icon on the today screen try to put it back. Hope it helps.

Best Regards

Yes, thank you very much for the information, but this article is known, and on many of home pages available. Unfortunatelly those haves nothing new about the new Omni phone. Everybody is happy for the Athena, but i don't think that it's as easy to use, as the Uni.

If it is thinner, and maybe not so heavy it's enough to buy the new version. I'm wondering what about the memory! Because the Athena - i know, this Device is different as our - haves 1 GB! This is a little embarrassing, that the very best device of the HTC cannot give us the comfort to use the device with as many running programs as we need... :(;)
