Front camera for those w/o the 2nd camera?

Seeing that there are different versions of Breeze with and without the front camera I wonder if it would be possible to build a second camera into a phone w/o the front camera by oneself. Does anyone know what exactly is missing and what is there?

In a shop the shop assistant was able to press the housing apart a bit without having to take the phone apart, so it was possible to see into the housing. Unfortunately I was only able to take a quick look, but maybe someone with a Breeze can take a closer look?

Now that I can dispose of a SPV C700 I removed the part of the housing that covers the rear camera (can be done without screwing (up) anything, but one has to be careful because of the jog stick (or however you call this thing on the left side), it breaks off really easily, if you understand what I mean, ahem).
Anyway, where the front camera could have been there is only the bottom of the rear camera, nothing else. It seems to me as if this camera is simply replaced by a "double camera" with a lens on both sides on models like the dopod 595, though I have no clue what kinds of cameras are available on the market (I always was rather a software- than a hardware-geek). Maybe someone technically skilled could do such a replacement by oneself, if the needed connectors are there, but again, I have no such technical experience, so this is pure speculation.
