Amalgamating ExtRom and Storage Memory

Is there any way to amalgamate the ExtRom & Storage Memory/RAM, in a manner similar to what you do on a Himlaya (ie. edit the ROM before you flash it)?

I believe this can be done with a DOC tool -- Buzz would likely be able to help us out (I asked him about this a few months back and we never got it made)
