Quick Info:

- Based the pdamobiz "clean" rom but made it "cleaner"
- I'm still working on the battery and ir issues.
- It's working with SPL 2.20
- Task manager included
- Removed pdamobiz logo crap
- new midlet manager included (google maps now works !)
- MMS Patches
- GPRS/EDGE Patches
- Smartdailing Patches
- For the Dutch users, I've changed the autocorrect so it doesn't change wel into we'll ;)
- Boatload of other patches in the ext rom


It will be a 2 step upgrade, first upgrade to 2.20 and step 2 is upgrade to 3.3
and NO you can't skip a step, or it will fail !

Yes, and hard reset too, if not the ext. rom install will fail and will leave your OS ROM without the needed patches.

this is a BETA ROM, so only upgrade if you what to test/see what it is like etc.

Installation all done...

only error message i got is "can not execute repllog.exe" in my PDA, active sync seems all fine after i hooked it up with the PC, so i guess its not a big problem

- USB charging worked
- SMS screen is fine
- all button works... camera's all fine
- IR dosent work.. but its okay, i hardly use it, (just use bluetooth)

- will test wifi and the rest later~

If you follow the guidelines you're on a good way not to have any problems...
If you do this there's no relationship between the rom you use now and this beta cause both steps dona and the beta will take the older roms place ;)

errr.. contacts worked for me fine.. im able to load all the contacts that ive backed up in my PC... and i get all the details... like address, email, send sms... etc... all worked flawlessly...

No when i flash with Various 3.x versions even straight after flash i could never open contacts it opened for 1/2 a second then closed again.

MMS is vendor specific i have cabs for orange (although you can just type them in, i will be adding cabs to extrom pain in the arse to type in after every reset)
wireless is ok (unsecured not got a wep/wpa to test)
ie is ok
MSN reports wrong password (100% not login fine on pc)
Activesync with exchange ok
Internet to Exchange ok

Still to test BT/TomTom Push Email let you know soon

I too had this problem with first launch of the new ROM. I notice that at the end of the stage 2 upgrade when I tried to perform a hard reset I was not given the "press green/send to confirm" dialogue. So I reset using the Clear Storage option and since then Contacts has worked fine.


BTW mine is a G3 device.

I couldn't recharge over usb. The orange light was turned on, although I couldn't see the percentage increase. I thought I would be just to impatient but now that you mention it maybe thats a bug I can't test it though right now because I'm back to a different Rom.

edit: forgot that I'm on windows vista so maybe that might be the problem, too, would be better if someone would check that to have confirmation.

The word MMS did not appear anywhere in the Messaging application. Since i did not get the "Press green button" thingy after the hard reset I'm trying step 2 again and see if that fixes the MMS problem.

PS MMS worked fine on pdamobiz 3.3, so I guess it should be OK with this version too.

My G4 does not charge - the percentage gets down as the phone is used.

Usb charging seems to be ok thou i watched it go from 88% to 90%

OK more info, If I soft reset the phone with the usb lead still connected, usb charging works on reboot of the phone

the USB charge returend.

Charging problem still. Only the old trick of soft resetting device while sync helps.
Didn't test for IR.

memory leak=0, speed 20% fater boot time with same application exactlly.
wifi connection o.k, BT connection o.k, IR comes and gose(not stable conn.)
USB charg only reset while active sync)
working with all application including backup and cloning (sprite etc)
but look here new camera issue i have thin line across the images (view and on actual picture)
i had the old default camera driver but i cant locate it (i search many posts)
so if some one have it on had, i'll try to resolve this matter too.

To summerise what is happening with USB charging here is what I think happens

If you soft reboot with the phone disconnected from your PC (no usb connection) the phone will not usb charge until.......

If you soft reboot with a usb connection made at the time (cable connected) usb charging will work

But after flash the rom, my pda(818pro, G3) always hang and the GSM cannot operate. It is sure that I did a hard reset after the completion of the two step.

Now, i flash back my pda with the rom AKU2.2-2.20-2.47.21 and operate smoothly.

G3 or G4 it's a "hardware version" of the device and it's not related to the manufacturer, go to the prophet wiki, there's the info you need on how to find the hardware version of your JAMin... Make sure you don't install the wrong one, as it will render your JAMin unsuble and unflashable (bricked)...

You seem to be the only person reporting this problem. I used to have that problem when I had Batterystatus plugin installed on the AKU 2.2 ROM. Your problem could be related to another software that you installed and not the ROM itself.

I think it's very important to run a ROM free from additional 3rd party software and plug-ins for a good number of days in order to test it properly. Some software that we install could have imcompatibilities with the latest AKU and cause instability.

I've been running on this 3.3 ROM since it's release. I didn't install any 3rd party software yet. The only problems I encountered so far are the common ones mentioned in this thread, i.e.

1) MSN does not work (didn't work with PDAMobiz ROM either)
2) HTC-X does not close programs (worked with PDAMobiz ROM)
3) Infrared connection is not stable (the same with PDAMobiz)

Other than the above 3 issues this ROM seems to be very stable and the performance is also very good. One thing I did not test (that was previousy reported as problematic) is the Midlet Manager.

So far USB charging is working fine for me as well.

One last thing about installing this ROM, if you did not get the "Press Send Button ..." screen after step 2 I would recommend reflashing. I had a problem finding the MMS settings in the Messagin app after flashing the first time and not getting the "Press Send Button ..." screen. Upon reflashing the second time, this time getting the "Press Send Button ..." screen, everything worked fine. So the only guarantee that the ROM was flashed properly is if you got "Press Send Button ..." screen after hard reset in step 2.

Darn. I think I have finally bricked my G3 JAMin. I had the 3.3-Jester-b1 ROM installed, but various problems have persauded me to revert to PDAMobiz_Prophet_WM5AKU3.3_v33031 . I ran the ROm update without first using Jester's step 1 downgrade to 2.20 ROM and got an error message (can't remember what). When I try to reset / Hard reset / switch on the device I get AKU 3.3 Jester edition, then it shows IPL 1.00, SPL 2.20.0000, GSM 02.47.21, OS 2.26.10.2 and that's where it stays. No progress from there at all.

The USB interface is not working so I can't reflash with any other ROM.

Any suggestions guys? Will Jester's G3 Goldcard project help me if it comes to fruition?

GO to bootloader and flash NVID AKU2.x rom, then re-flash aku3.3.

Scott - you are my hero! I didn't know that you could access the bootloader in this way. I have rescued the device thanks to you, and will be more careful in future what ROMs I install and how I install them.

Just finished this new update (3.3). It started with problems getting a connection to the T-Mobile network. After some minutes the connection was made, but not stable.
But now I cannot make a call. When I call my onw number from a different phone, my cellphone is not ringing and I see no incoming calls.

What can be wrong?? I tried the G3 version...

Maybe it's a network problem, can't see how can your phone change it's own number on the network... very odd problem indeed

This shows up when the phone boots:

IPL 2.09

The previous Rom was Jester 2.2:
Step1-G3
Step2

Now it is still searching for network......it looks like GPRS is working

And two more strange things:
- When I click on contacts, the contactscreen just shows up for half a second and immediately shuts down.
- When I want to make a call, I fill in the number and when I press the green button to call the number the screen shuts down.

More info: The backligth lights up when I make a call to my S200, so it seems that the phones notices that there is incoming call, but it stays here and doens't do anything with it.

Besides the problem, this ROM is very very slow at my device...

It sounds like you phone hasn't flashed properly if the contacts dissapear, try a hard reset again?

Press and hold Camera + On/Off button, press reset button with stylus, and release Camera + On/Off button when bootloader pop-up.

Now you can reflash with an original ROM or run Step1-G4.exe again.

Don't worry you're phone will be fine again! :)

hello,
I found that many roms have a same problem-----my device can't msn vibrate in suspend mode. It can vibrate my phone call and SMS, i can vibrate when the mobile is on, BUT it can't vibrate by msn message in suspend mode....(i don't know it's my problem or... )

i've test pdamobiz Aku 3.2 ,3.3 roms, they all can't vibrate........the only rom i found it can vibrate is RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID this rom, can anyone solve this problem so that I can do this in AKU3 rom???

When you're ROM is really really slow it has indeed to do with a failed Radio ROM flash. So see you back in half an hour with a working device again. :)

well after the last few days with the new 3.2 jesterz.
last thing that dose not work is the usb charging on acctive sync.
not that i mind so much because now reset time is less than 45 sec.
its a S200 (as well jamin dopod etc. etc or all the names this device is called)
i didnt face any major problem but the USB.
i had installed all old applications and all works. i am waiting this patch from jesterz to fix this USB bug so we can start testing the real test and not the bug fixing.
so jesterz, if you are there and you read, at least one loyal fan of your work is waiting and i am sure all the rest of us....

- Stange behavior with Connctions after a soft reset. Many programs (like flexmail) don't connect to internet (using gprs) because don't find an available connection. You need to go to Settings/connections and re-save the GPRS connection. (I don't know if it's an issue of the programs with AKU 3.3 or a ROM issue..I think that it's quite difficult to undestand)

When I do a Soft Reset, the bluetooth profiles and Wifi profiles will be erased. :-(

But, the ROM works fine!! I think that the new version of this rom will be the best for the prophet!!

Easy unrar/zip both roms copy the cabs from pdamobz you want into the extrom folder of b1 and edit the config.txt to install them.

I have done this with some orange bits eg. GPRS settings MMS settings so i dont have to set them manually each time i do a hard reset. Not that i have needed to do once once with this rom

The sound is much more worse then on 2.2 wwe. I'm using btstereo headset
And did smone tried to use gps with this rom?? how did it influenced to tha battary work time?

- Based the pdamobiz "clean" rom but made it "cleaner"
- I'm still working on the battery and ir issues.
- It's working with SPL 2.20
- Task manager included
- Removed pdamobiz logo crap
- new midlet manager included (google maps now works !)
- MMS Patches
- GPRS/EDGE Patches
- Smartdailing Patches
- For the Dutch users, I've changed the autocorrect so it doesn't change wel into we'll ;)
- Boatload of other patches in the ext rom


It will be a 2 step upgrade, first upgrade to 2.20 and step 2 is upgrade to 3.3
and NO you can't skip a step, or it will fail !

No usb charging for me, also no turkish localisation.
After restoring contact and sms, phone function just died.

Reverted back to 2.3.1

One thing---This OS is great,but does not work properly (not on my phone)...
God is my witness that I installed this OS for more than 6-times...And Allways I manage to get in trouble with it...It just blocks and freezes,and when I soft reset it,It won't start up...So I have to Install it again and again...Please if someone knows what seems to be the problem tell me...And Mr.J your answer is wery welcomed...Greetings!

OK I have had to revert back to 2.3.1, again I lost all my mail accounts, I definately think it is a memory address problem, I tired to save a half meg pda to my device, it crashed, and on reboot the accounts were partly gone, something is overwriting this data.

I hope we can get it sorted for the next release......

It's a well known issue. You need to soft reset the divice since it's connected to the PC. (Jester is working to solve it... I hope ;-)

I have had this several times with any rom above 2.3.1 and everytime it has been resolved by a hard reset with format.

Hope this helps to many people seem to be giving in to quick as the venders will not release a 3.3 or 3.5 etc we need to all give our input to help Jester and Helmi or the prophet will never progress

i just flashed my Qtex S200 with this AKU3.3 rom but:
1) when i use a theme the task bar and start bar is remaining blue color
and just inside today screen is changing. this is not so good.
2) i cannot reach my GSM operator's sim tool kit menu
3) there is no Turkish region to show time on 24h format instead of AM/PM format.
4) how can i show my operator name on today screen ?
5) is there a way to change softkey as per user desire ? i mean calendar and contact to the other programs

i would be glad if the new ROM will include above issues.

i have applied another theme temporarly and then returned to grey and the problem solved :)

for BT wifi screen it is very complicated for me to create some dword or key (the problem is that i do not know if the word is dword or string or anything...) :) but will work on it.

I have done a very similar thing (as below message)to my I-Mate JAMin.
I am wondering or hoping someone might be able to help me.

I flashed my device with RUU-Prophet-G4-AKU2.2-2.20-2.47.21-Jester-b1.exe everything went well it said it was finished but the device never left the green key logger screen. Then soft reset, nothing happened and it went into key loader state and has stayed there reading IPL 1.00 SPL 2.20.0001 with the tri color and a small white band on the bottom. I tried a manual hard reset but it says its "format is failed". The unit's USB interface won't work so I can't reflash with any other ROM.

My question is can it be fixed by me (If so please explain in detail how) or if it sent in for a software re-flash by www.pocketpctechs.com could it be done? Basically do I now own a brick?

Could you please explain this process and what I would need to do it? I have flashed other devices without a glitch, but I may have bricked this one.

Hello Jester (first of all great job..you rock),Have you got any idea for the new beta version? It's my job/entertainment phone, and some issues are very boring...and i'm thinking to revert to a more stable rom (like 2.2 or 2.3) bt if the new beta is near..i'll wait some few days more.

Depends on how much time I will have over the weekend, I do have a job and a normal life next to doing this :) lol


For people reading this and feeling up for some testing, what I would like to know: if you "fix" the battery charging problem by doing a soft reset with the phone attached to the usb cable, will the phone also charge without problems on another pc ?
If this is the case it might be a silly registry entry that can fix it, instead of a drivers....not sure about it, but just a thought, so If somebody wants to try that with a clean installed phone (hard reset, do the fix, see if it works on another pc)

Didn't test it with a clean device, but here are my test results:

- Before connecting USB: battery 93%
- Connected it to my laptop and after 10 minutes: battery 91%
- Soft-reset and after 10 minutes: battery 96%
- Connected it to my workstation and after 10 minutes: battery 98%
- Connected it back to my laptop and it charged it battery to 100%

So it indeed looks like if it is a registry setting.

I have done a very similar thing (as below message)to my I-Mate JAMin.
I am wondering or hoping someone might be able to help me.

I flashed my device with RUU-Prophet-G4-AKU2.2-2.20-2.47.21-Jester-b1.exe everything went well it said it was finished but the device never left the green key logger screen. Then soft reset, nothing happened and it went into key loader state and has stayed there reading IPL 1.00 SPL 2.20.0001 with the tri color and a small white band on the bottom. I tried a manual hard reset but it says its "format is failed". The unit's USB interface won't work so I can't reflash with any other ROM.

My question is can it be fixed by me (If so please explain in detail how) or if it sent in for a software re-flash by www.pocketpctechs.com could it be done? Basically do I now own a brick?

Hi Boszman. I recovered my Prophet from brick-status. See the wikipedia for how to enter the Bootloader:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Prophet , but basically you hold the camera button and press and release reset. That puts the device into a state where you can flash it from a USB connection. Make sure you don't run down your battery before you get chance to do it.
I have reinstated my original Jamin ROM for the moment until I am brave enough to have another play.

Ok back to the chargin

On my M600 it will always charge on any pc if it has been soft reset whilst connected to the PC i can dissconnect move to another pc back to the same one plug in mains anything it will keep charging once this soft reset whilst connected has been done. If i soft reset whilst not on a pc it will not charge on a pc it will from mains reset whilst connected and it charges again.

Try to soft reset since connected to a PC, the last AKU seems all affected by this issue.

Installed this ROM last night.....I was amazed at how zippy it is .... Contrary to some issues reported about IR, mine seems to work perfectly ( Iuse Novii Remote quite a bit for my TV...as the TV remote is broken.....and it works fine with this OS update) .... The USB charging & Pocket MSN connection issues exist.....but soft-reset workaround works.... Im not too concerned about the Pocket MSN as I hardly ever use it.... I prefer Verichat as its faster and supports multiple protocols and I was able to connect to MSN just fine thru Verichat... So as far as I'm concerned...the only real issue is the USB charging.... Many thanks for this update...My device feels as good as new again :)

Other Known Problems:

- BT and WiFi profiles disappear after soft reset
- Problems with connections (most times asfter soft reset it's necessary to re-impost gprs connections)
- Email account (and email) disappears after soft reset.

I'm thinking to go back to a more stable rom (like 2.3 or 2.31), because this bugs are very boring for my business phone...but the speed of AKu 3.3 rocks ;-)

Well I do think this is news as I've done a softreset after flashing and charging over USB worked. Now turn the phone off and on again, and another softreset with USB cable connected is needed to be able to charge over USB. I haven't seen this written somewhere in that clarity. If I missed it, sorry for double posting...

I'm also a dutch T-Mobile user and since I've updated, incoming calls seem to be very unstable. Some will get through while other calls just won't... :confused:
Every 3.x version I try gives me the same result.

To helmi_c, jesterz and others helping build an aku3.x rom

I've come up with a crazy idea but it may work.
Instead of trying to update a aku2.x rom, why not try to downgrade a Crossbow rom?
The crossbow rom has been released for the wizard. I believe it will work on the prophet as well (I can try it if you want me to) but ofcourse it will need a few adjustments.
So since the crossbow rom is in chinese, it will be automatically translated through the downgrade process(because only the drivers are kept from the base rom when applying an aku package).
This way we may have fewer bugs (charging and ir).
Please tell me what you think about this

I've installed this ROM 6 days ago, it's really fast. Sometimes I plug USB cable into device and don't need soft reset, but charging is still OK (just sometimes)
Now I see another bug. Normally if we use the headset, the rear speaker is off. But in this ROM, the rear speaker is still on although i inserted the headset to prophet. So when the phone call incoming or listening the music I can hear the sound from the rear speaker and the headset.
How can I fix this problem? Or Can I edit registry to fix it? Anyone have the problem like me.

Some benefits/improvements with this rom over the AKU 3.2 PDAMobiz ROM...

SPB Pocket Plus works.
Backlight settings are remembered after locking the device and then unlocking (the Today Lock)


I have yet to find an application that won't work, apart from the already mentioned issues. :D

i've been following this thread since it's first post, but i was to lazy to register myself :rolleyes:

i have sucessfully installed Jesterz AKU3.3b1 on my G4 S200 some days ago.
i have to say that this ROM kicks some serious ass*s :D

and so far i have not experienced the same common bugs that other users reply here...

USB Charge works fine without softreset, i just plug it in and it charges sweet.
the configs of my network (vodafone pt), system settings, etc, remain after the every reset.
the rear speaker doesn't play along while listening my mp3 with headphones.
in general, everything that i was using before with my network shipped ROM works 100%.

now... some bug report:

can't run some programs that require NETframework v2, even after installing the framework again.
(gives some error msg from the framework version or something)


while trying to execute my ISPs wifi tool my G4 crashed with the following msg:

"an unhandled exception ocurred while executing the shell.
attempting to restart the shell......."

taskmanager doesn't NOT WORK AT ALL...!

when i open an SMS, it auto scrolls to the end of the screen, leaving it completly blank! (i have to scroll it up again to read the msg... very annoying lmao)

otherwise, everything works ok and flawlessly... doesn't even look like a beta!

i will keep on hard testing this ROM just to find some bugs ;)

Today I tried this ROM.

It looked good at the beginning, but then there was a problem!

My S200 was searching for at least 5 minutes before I had connection with my provider and I was not able to connect to GPRS. I got a message that I was low on memory (20Mb available...).

I downgraded to the AKU2.2 final ROM and I have connection within 2 secs and can easily connect to GPRS.

Anybody any idea what is wrong with the BETA ROM?

I'm wondering if we'll ever see a more stable release of this aku. I think Crossbow has now curtailed the momentum unfortunately. I'd like to try the beta but don't want to go through the hassle of reinstalling only to find that the release is imminent.

hi i have tested this now battrey status v1.04beta2 and i can confirm my usb charging is going up instead ov down battrey status seems to be a remidy for not charging on usb. my device is spv m600 cid unlocked, jesters 3.3 aku rom all works fine come on guys get that rom on your devices setting omap clock on battrey status to 286mhz with jesters rom man does it fly feel the need the need for speed owh.

Rom update does not works under Vista, there's a lot of post regarding this problem. No solution for the moment.

After softreset I play mp3 with WMP and it work fine with original handfree.


But afterthat... when I make a call , or someone call me (After I push handfree out) they can't hear me. but if I make a call again it works fine. :mad:


The problem comes... If I push handfree into my Dopod again and open MP3 with WMP. Sound out both handfree and phone speaker. It aways happen when i'm in the train ( so shame :( ) anybody around me can hear what i listenning even who's call me... that's bad!!


This problems can fix by softreset but i don't want to softreset my phone all days :o


PS: Didn't try with bluetooth headset yet.

Many thanks to (forum.xda-developers.com) Helmi for rom AKU3.3 (in other model), Faria for new base rom, Mamaich for tools and techniques, Itsme for tools and techniques and My friend, RuChonburi who help me complete bare rom.

Step to upgrade this bare rom:
1. Backup your data to sd card or PC (just for in case you want them back).
2. If you want to write exteneded rom (This extended rom from Dopod Official v. 2.15), the existing OS AKU in your prophet must be below aku2.3, or else you have to downgrade it to aku2.0 or aku2.2.
3. Hard reset your prophet, press and hold at camera and record buttons then reset. Then press Send.
4. Active sync with out align screen.
5. Run UPGRADE_ROM.bat and wait until finish sound.
6. Do hard reset again.

This rom is very fast and stable. But thier are few problems.

Remain problems:
1. PC USB Charge, need soft reset afer plug usb charge. (Wall charge no problem)
2. Irda not work.
3. Unable to map button 1 and 2.
4. Charging LED display delay (about 5 second).
5. Missing Midled Manager (But customized rom version has it).

Agree. This rom "AKU3.3-Jester-b1" has nothing new from PDAMobiz's rom. And I hate that PDAMobiz's rom was removed from ftp site, instead, just put such rubbish roms to \uploads\prophet\..\ directory.
The original 818pro AKU2.3 rom is so stable, if you wanna try aku3.3, try PDAMobiz's rom then.

No, I don't have these problems. Everything runs good. Battery loads fine, camera works good, in other words, no problems what so ever. Runs smooth and fine!
