Just wondering how many of you update your ROMs so frequently. Do you attempt a restore, and if so, do you use Sprite or SPB?

I am using SPB Backup but occured an error while restoring 2.3 contacts on 3.3 AKU. Contacts won't open after that, so you have to backup it via .csv

There was a thread here somewhere about pim.vol format being different in AKU 3.x from 2.X
I believe this is the source of the error with contacts.
Just thought you should know...

Sprite backup has a tool which can do a backup and then restore after a rom update.
However, before you do that you have to run another program which scans the whole OS or something. And then when you restore it looks for certain changes.
Reading the forums over on Sprite backup site should give more information about this subject.
However, don't do like me. Backup with sprite and forget to make the OS upgrade thingy :P

Sprite is currently the only app that restore after a ROM upgrade, I suggest you read the FAQ on Upgrade mode on their website BEFORE you upgrade your device, as most ppl who have issues dont read the FAQ and upgrade before finding out they have to do some preparation. THe user guide also has instructions on upgrade mode but you still need to download the util off the website
