I am trying to keep the internet connection open (while some data is transferred) I have set up a dummy email account which sends & receives every 15 mins. This opens the connection but closes before the data is finished.
Is there a registry hack to keep the gprs open for say 5 mins.

I have found and tried :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A3 8-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections\T-Mobile Internet\AlwaysOn = 1
When I try to set the value to 1 i get an error saying error setting registry information.

if you follow the app unlock procedure in this forum you will be able to edit the registry. registry keys are locked by default

I have unlocked the device
I have set the following :
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A3 8-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections\Virgin GPRS]
"AlwaysOn"=dword:00000001
"ConnectionGUID"="{1BDFAB9A-77AA-1EF0-BE55-D1132E79D273}"
"DestId"="{436EF144-B4FB-4863-A041-8F905A62C572}"
"Enabled"=dword:00000001
"EntryType"=dword:00000002
"RequirePw"=dword:00000000
"Secure"=dword:00000000
"SecureLevel"=dword:00000000
but the connection does not remain open
