XDA IIi phone bit not working

hi ive recently inherited an XDA IIi and ive inserted sim card and it cant connect......says there isnt any service or nething but the simcard does work in my sda 2s (which i also got given :P lol) any ideas????

Have you installed Radio 1.04?

Have you cleaned the metal contacts of the sim card with some cleaning oil?

i have an o2 xda iis as well as the 2i, the sim works fine in the 2s so its not the sim
