CID unlock for g4

He sim unlocked the phone not the CID. CID lock is entirely different from SIM Lock..

We would give you the solution if we knew what it was.

CID is Country_ID - when locked you have a limit on which ROMs can be loaded. For example if the CID is locked then you can't load a German ROM on a Chinese device. Unlock the CID then you can. ;)

I have o2 xda neo.
can I load only o2 roms? or can I load any original prophet rom(imate,qtek,o2...)? I understand I can't load modified roms...

Excuseme by my poor english.
I´ve got a Prophet (SPV M600 of Amena), and I´m trying to upgrade the last spanish ROM qtek´s 2.20.7.36 (oficial), and it´s imposible my M600 is spanish, and I must not got any problem with the vendorID.
What is the problem?, Coould you help me?:confused:

Well folks

Someone gave me O2 XDA Neo which was in German. I successfully used the PDAmobiz tool to convert the german to english rom and now I have no problem at all. I recommend to everyone to use the tool.

The solution for G4 devices is the same as they do with Wizards,
it 's just a fact of cooking your own Rom.
I just upgraded my German XDA Neo 2.21.0001 G4 device with the new standard Qtek s200 2.10 Dutch Rom. You just leave the IPL and SPL in your device like it was and just change the Rom image. There is a nice guide from Faria in the wizard topic about cooking your own rom. Just follow the guide and set your favorite Rom on your device, simple as that !!!

It really works, just check it out ;-)

For what I read this is no solution... It's just mending the problem... Cause you'd have to do this every time you want to upgrade your rom...
How about the PDAMobiz way? Dunno if that works... But seems promising... The problem is that it hasn't got much of a feedback...

Yes you have to do it always over,
but it 's not that hard to cook your ROM,
in ten minutes it 's complete.

The PDA Mobiz thing didn't work with mine,
so I tried this ...

I want to update it to the latest GERMAN rom. Do I have to CID-Unlock it? Which tutorial applies to my problem. And can I still do a Backup of my original Rom (or is the O2 Rom on your page a sufficient Backup?)

So, if i have a G4 CID locked prophet (actually a QTEK S200), get the ROM i want to use with it (in this case RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_QtekWWE_Ship.exe ) and update it without touching the IPL and SPL, my device will still boot normally and i'll get rid of the original language?

Another doubt here is, how do i leave IPL and SPL untouched? With the RUU_no_vendor_ID?

Any help is appreciated, i'm scared of bricking this S200 :(

Nevermind all that. I just did the same thing, EXACTLY as the instructions described, and i got a G4 with a brand new english ROM which is all i ever wanted.

No, you can't backup your original ROM to a Storage Card because of the CID lock! If your device is a german XDA Neo than you can update! The O2 update consists of both devices, G3 and G4!
(Had I wrote it correctly in english? :D)

I'm sorry but what is a ROM??. Does it have anything to do with language? I have my SPV M600 in French. I would like to change it to Spanish or English. Do I have to unlock the ROM and load the correct one?
