Im sorry maybe im being stupid but the wiki really isnt clear. well at least it requires prior knowledge of command prompt.
So i have followed all the steps on the wiki upto:
Determine your operator Information e.g.: "T-MOB101", or "Vodafone", or O2. See GetDeviceData.
Open a command prompt, go to the folder where the ROM file resides (nk.nbf) and execute: SetOperator ???
(where ??? is your operator).
So I open up command prompt but have no idea what to type
the .nbf file is saved in D:\Documents and Settings\Andrew.ANDREW-30KU0MC0\Desktop\Blue Angel\Helmi_BA_WM2k5_AKU3.5_v.1.4 at the moment.
my operator code is currently ORANG001 but it is running a O2 sim card if that makes any difference?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know mate, iv searched the forum for ages, read the wiki all morning. took a crash course in flipping ms dos. so I gave up and just copied the file without doing any operator changes.
Doesnt work, comes up with an error like wrong device or something.
the point of a wiki is that everyone can follow it simply. as soon as someone tells me the answer I will rewrite the wiki because it isnt clear to anyone who doesnt know the command prompt.

Yes, you are both dumb as sh*t. All this is clearly described on the forum, but none of you moved his butt to SEARCH. Its better to flood the forum with stupid questions, eh?
GetDeviceData.exe is to be executed on the PPC, DeviceData.txt contains the operator string that is to be replaced for "???" in SetOperator.bat
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?auto_redirect=1&pagename=TitleSearch&s=GetDeviceData , so don't tell mie sh*t that u did search, andypa1.

wahey look at the big man throwing insults over the internet, behind the safety of a keyboard well do you live in england, UK ? cos if so I say get in the ring.
Firstly if you moved your eyes up to my post you would see that I did infact use the search function. and in the wiki it doesnt say to do that part on the device.

andypa1 from what I have read the fact you are using a different sim makes no difference it is what the get device data output is that matters.

haha and you're a senior member of this? I lived in birmingham for 3 months, worst experience ever, and the culinary contributions you guys give are the worst on the planet. (Im assuming dentistry doesn't exist there, a british mouth is like a shark) You folks have a lot of lip to give, so yeah you can suck my d*ck also.
I think this 'chap' is the only one in a forum for 5yr old phones 24/7.
the real question is, why the hell do you go through with the BS device_data crap when all you have to upgrade is the one sole MaUpgradeUt_noID prog. Extra work for nothing. Senior my ass,
'what your mommy buy you a puter for christmas'

Yes he does have issues, but I have no idea why you feel you need to slag off my country. of all the things you could pick about this country that are crap, you chose the food. I am happy to inform you that myself and every girl I have ever got off with has brilliant teeth. I happen to love the fact that I could get any choice of English or worldwide food I want in my city of Birmingham, my favourite being italian. I think the problem is they kicked you out at the all you can eat, or you just couldnt fit enough in your fat face.

okie, guys enough of that nonsense please.
To who ask for helps, please dont insult the rom provides in this forum, our developers are working hard to bring wm5 up to speed, reliability and stability.
and for whoever replies to question(s), please try to be helpful. I know it's hard sometimes like the question has been asked for so many times, and ppl dont do any research, straight up open a new topic. but yep if u dont feel like responding, just dont.

I know you dont believe me cos Im a noob an all, but the wiki isnt clear when the zip file doesnt contain the bat file in the folder im instructed to use. and I used the search function for hours.

Dont lie! we all now that instructions are clear - absolutely :o)
Now serious -
If you have no idea how command prompt works (but you should!) you can use the one from Helmi 1.4 vanilla version. (Its not the same like Vanilla or Chocolate ice-cream)
1. Personally I dont think you should perform upgrade when you cant find the answers by your own
2. But see the attached file you have to copy it in the folder where nk.nbf file is (I hope you move it into the proper folder)
3. Its just .bat (batch) and this one requires xda3nbftool.exe (it can be found in the folder PH20B1) --> copy it to the same folder.
4. Run it.
----
PS : "Open a command prompt, go to the folder where the ROM file resides (nk.nbf) and execute: SetOperator ???"
it means you will type in command prompt SetOperator ORANG001

I agree with that - most of the stupid questions with unsuccesfull upgrades came from the people that failed to READ what to do.
BA_Flash_GOD - one of them said they must be too dumb to figure out how to change the operator. I only confirmed that fact - by simply pointing a search results.
Additionally - I have given an ansfer to their question regarding SetOperator - so what is YOUR problem? :>
You ask the real question is, why the hell do you go through with the BS device_data crap when all you have to upgrade is the one sole MaUpgradeUt_noID prog. Extra work for nothing. Senior my ass - did they ask if it is possible to do WITHOUT the operator thingy? I recall only the question about HOW TO SET the operator.

I've got zero problems, i'm just stating no reason to call him a dumbass. Moral was if you were smart you wouldn't go through the operator stuff for no reason.
Let's help him out, EASIEST way possible, don't go through useless command lines to show the prog that yeah, it's a whatever model, flash. I think the wrong thing to do would be to go through all that operator change when it's never needed.
I figured you'd just say read wiki and leave it at that. We should show some respect to new people, they are the ones giving donations to this site? 'Cheers mates'
so to all that have troubles with any operator stuff, throw that out the window and just get MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe, problems solved.
I got no beef with anyone or the UK, just saying wasn't a pleasent experience, and yes fish and chips for all.
