BatMemTime (http://www.geocities.com/tomgigear77/Software.html)
TodayWarrior (http://personales.ya.com/beemer/todaywarrior1.htm)

Neither do a really good job, but are better than nothing if you want some indication of remaining time. Both are free.

BatMemTime has a range of options (current drain, average over current charge/all time). Quite heavy on Today screen space, doesn't always display properly after soft reset (on WM5). TodayWarrior only shows time based on current drain (as far as I can see), and updates quite infrequently - good use of Today space & one or two other very useful features.

Biggest problem I've found with either of these is that what I want to know is "how long will the battery life last based on what *I* am doing now" - not based on what the PPC is doing in the background. Averages over long periods (current charge, all time) are no use for that and if the plugin happens to poll when the PPC is doing something in the background, then you get silly figures based on current drain - for example with both plugins I've had situations where the device has been in normal use for, say, 4 hours (i.e used occasionaly & in standby the rest of the time), has battery at 95%, but the plugin reports only 30mins remaining life!

Don't know what the real answer is (maybe one of our experts on the forum could produce a plugin which averages the battery drain over, say, the last n minutes ... ?)

all of above links are useless and are handling unnecessary place on today screen just http://www.chi-tai.info/cs_BatterySt..._WM5_iM_cs.htm is good but is missing a feature to show the remaining time for battery. hope in the new version they include this feature.
