View Full Version : Having Problems With Update

I am trying to upgrade to any of the new ROMS available, but I keep getting stuck. I got the device id error, so I used the recommended file and procedure. It then begins the upgrade, but then I get a communications lost error every time. The activesync connection is lost, and I cannot get it back without soft-resetting the device. Any help would be appreciatted I am stuck on an old ROM and would like an updated one. I did try everything posted on the wiki.

Are you flashing from the bootloader, or just via ActiveSync? The former is more reliable.

Im using activesnc. I didnt see anything about flshing from the bootloader in the wiki, unless you are referring to the second harder way. How do you flash from the bootloader?

You press a key combo (can't remember right now) that puts you in a screen where the backlight is off but if you look closely it says "serial". You then dock it and it'll change to "usb" (still no backlight though). This is the prefered state to use for a ROM upload AFAIK.

That combo would be Power, reset, record! all at the same time! :)
