many of the devices are support only wi-fi signal "b" and i remember that with a simple registry tweak this "b" devices can connect to the wireless "g" of cousre in 11Mbps standart.
it would be perfect if ROM creators/modifiers can make this registry tweak direct ready without tweak it manually as this is very usefull and i mean mandatory to connect any wireless that gives only "g".
thanks

Why would you need this tweak on a prophet?
The prophet has both b&g wifi.

The reason is so that you can keep your home network as "all-g" and "b-free".
You can then set your router to g-mode only, which results in faster speeds all around than in mixed mode, even to your other networked wireless computers.

I have 6 wifi access points at home. All are set to "G only".
My prophet links easily to any of these points, and automatically transfers it's association with the different points as I move around the house.
Thus all computers in
the house can only connect to the G band.
So again I say, there is no need for such a tweak.

i have checked my device and found that it is only "b" and cannot connect any "g" so i heared from some sources that witha registry trick it can connect to wireless "g".
if Qtek S200 supports b/g then why my device cannot connect any "g" ?

That is possible.
I have read that some phones sold in China are missing the wifi chip, so different markets may offer different configurations of the same model.
Check the technical specs of your phone on the package it came in to see if it supports "g" wifi.
Otherwise maybe you have a hardware fault.
In any case a registry tweak may be of help to you.

Well, that's odd. I've never heard of any "factory" Prophet ROMs with 'g' mode enabled by default w/o a reg hack. Which ROM are using, and is it possible the chef spiced it up a bit?

I am using an imate Jamin G3 version.
As far as I can recall it worked on "g mode only" out of the box.
I have changed rom many times and am currently using Jester's 3.3 beta1.
All roms I tried were just as compatible.
No chef here only a part time maid.:)

Maybe theaks2k2net can do this.

Strange because any prophet will connect to g, however you might have a weird phone/rom, try this:
HKLM\COMM\TNETWLN1\Parms\dot11SupportedRateMask = 1 (DWORD decimal)
HKLM\COMM\TNETWLN1\Parms\dot11SupportedRateMaskG = 8 (DWORD decimal)
To set back to default:
HKLM\COMM\TNETWLN1\Parms\dot11SupportedRateMaskG = 4 (DWORD decimal)

i have checked my registry setting and found that only HKLM\COMM\TNETWLN1\Parms\dot11SupportedRateMask = 1 (DWORD decimal) is enabled and no the second registry setting in my prophet which is HKLM\COMM\TNETWLN1\Parms\dot11SupportedRateMaskG = 8.
i will add this second setting to my prophet and will try to connect g signals.
thanks.
