darker backlight: reg tweak?

hi,

i have a problem. i own a hermes (o2's trion) and a herald (htc p4350).

on the hermes you can choose from 7 points of backlight brightness.
but on the herald you only have 4.

the thing is that the lowest level is way too dark (you can barely see something) and the second lowest way too bright/light for me (eye cancer: help).
is there a way (registry?) to make all the 4 backlight levels darker or to find a way to get between the lowest and second lowest level of the backlight?

it's really so bright now, and that also needs much more battery.

i think backlighting levels are on a deeper level in the machine (hardware or driver) then a registry entry can fix.

SPBPocket Plus for Herald could maybe help (read the features). But I didn't try it.

I would like to recall my previous post. There is no such thing like a special version of SPB Pocket Plus for Herald. It's just fricking dynamic webpage changing according to your search :(
