- Some shortcuts have vanished from the program folder, "Internetdelning" (Internet sharing), Streaming Media etc. The programs should still be there though.

- In the program folder a shortcut was added to Wireless modem, but is not working because the program is not available after the upgrade. I guess it's the Internet Sharing program now.

As I wrote before - there could be other things in Swedish or things not working becuase of language differencies. The inbox was my biggest concern.

If you go into the Windows folder, you will see any English & Swedish start menu, you can easily copy the missing items from the Swedish to the English start menu and rename them.

My inbox is still working (push email) after translating everything (I had setup my push email before doing the translation).

The only thing so far that is no longer working is SOTI Pocket Controller, I am going to reinstall this app to see whether I can resolve this minor issue.

IMEI unlock is to allow you to use any SIM card.
SuperCID allows you to install any ROM.

Yup, I guess you are right. imei-check unlock tool already make your phone supercid but better if can confirm first. If this new roms have read only radio roms, you can use the unlock tools later.

or is 1.04 enough? because it's written everywhere that with 1.04 you can downgrade or update radio whenever you want, not just an upgrade of the entire rom like with BL1.08.

I think M$ will lose the game soon, and I really hope so, Vista is complete shambles (running Vista Business since December), Windows Mobile is really buggy, they have incompatability problems with their own platforms.

Dont they simply realise that we need a stable OS in which we can then simply use the useful tools that we need to communicate and organise.
The OS should be transparent, not the focus.

Hrmmm,,,,, the open source community is catching up soon, I dual boot with SLED10 (linux) and SLED10 is more stable, less memory intensive and quicker than VISTA.

Hopefully the iPhone will give M$ a good run for their money and maybe then MS will step up and give consumers/end users what they need.

The ROM is so far still working great...

The only real issue that I have encountered so far is that AKU 3 no longer supports the bluetooth Dialup Networking (DUN) profile which has been replace by the Personal Area Network (PAN) profile, as a result of this:
- You will need a bluetooth stack that supports the PAN profile if you still want to use your phone to connect to the internet (a lot of devices do not support this, for example my TomTom GPS, ...)
- You will need to activate the Internet Sharing app before you can create a PAN connection & you have to redo this procedure each time that you want to use it again, which is a real PITA!

Again this is just the way AKU 3 works and not specific issue with this ROM only, I just wanted to give you guys a headsup. ;-)

I use a Jabra BT200 bluetooth ear, no pb, no dropping calls and so on, maybe just battery short life...

that has something to with the radio. point 3 and 4 are already resolved with radio 1.20 i think. you don't need a completely new rom to resolve these problems.

This roms have radio 0108 which you cannot downgrade it later. But nevermind you have different phone, don't use this roms.

I already confirmed you can downgrade.

Running on the new 2.05 rom and patched it to English :)

Works great at the moment, also the mail works good, just reasign the mail button with the messaging app and its okay.

Only problem I had was that Tomtom 6 build 8320 crashed :( But Tomtom 6 build 7910 works okay :)

The bluetooth stack is a little better with A2DP, but the sound still sucks in my opinion :( so still using the widdcomm stack, witch sounds a lot better.

It was not the exact answer I expected...
I remeber a fact about the time before reset the device until the values are effectively stored in registry.

Is there any reason it would setup my EXT_ROM 2x after a hard reset? I put Asukal's JP -> Eng MUI in the EXT_ROM with a config file and autorun to try to get it to install that way then hard reset. It configured the Swedish EXT_ROM first then did my custom one soon after.

Works great, just install it and then run both options, soft resets the device twice and then it is in English.

Now flashing the GPS enabled radio, hope that works better on this rom :)

Extracht the NBH file from the exe.

I used total commander to do this

Then use NBHextract to extract to extract the NB parts:

Turn of the USB connection in activesync!

and then turn the device in bootloader mode and connect it! Then it will work.

That's because this is a special, pre-release ROM for testing purposes, probably by one (or all) of the Swedish carriers. There are other versions in English, Korean, Russian or whatever, they just haven't been leaked to the public yet.

Ok so after i patched the whole rom and upgraded my bootloader I have finally succeeded in getting MFG SPL-1.01 with SuperCID. thanks to the Wiki.

Ok so now im gonna upgrade the os and the EXT_rom and patch it.....

Best advice, read the wiki, specifically the imformation on the 1.01MFG bootloader, and NBHextract as well.

All the information is there. Its the best place for you to get info. If you really this unsure, you might want to think about NOT upgrading just yet..

I ask here because I dont want to brick my tytn based on my own newbie conclusions about in wich order or/and wich programs I shall use. Is it hard to just write down the order and what to check before an upgrade?
1. check bla bla bla before upgrade.
2. use the program bla bla and type bla bla to flash.
and so on. Isnt it better to get advise from someone who done it before and suceeded instead of an trial and error based on my own faulthy newbie conclusions? Myself, I was a few seconds before the moment I was about to press Proceed with the upgrade, when on a forum I suddenly fell upon one VERY interesting note.

I appears that when using the straightforward way of flashing - just press the EXE file - a v. 1.0108 HTC_BOOT will be flashed as well, making it impossible the subsequent upgrades of Radio ROMs only.

That's why a new method has been invented:
1. SuperCID
2. BL 1.01 MFG
3. Breaking the ROM into separate components
4. Flashing only the OS and Extended_ROM using the lnb command

The moderators may consider this a minor point, but IMHO it should have been flashing really sparkling BRIGHT in every FAQ that relates this subject.

I repeat, if the above should be true, only by a mere coincidence have I avoided what I now know I would be sorry for

Okay then...

1. First of all you need to get down to bootloader 1.04. You therefore need to find a complete ROM for your carrier. ie if you are on a t-mob ROM with 1.06 then you need to download and flash a t-mob ROM with 1.04.

2. Then you need to use the Unlocker instructions to make your device unlocked and supercid.

3. Then!!! Once the above is done you can then flash the 1.01MFG bootloader version.

Away you go.....

Although - I made the fatal error of flashing up to 1.09 in the past and had to get IMEI-CHECK to unlock mine. This was after I had used the unlocker tool to unlock the device...

I didnt read enough here and ended up flashing a ROM with 1.09 bootloader. I couldnt find the same carriers ROM with a 1.04 bootloader so I was stuck.

The only way back was to buy and unlock thru IMEI-CHECK.

Not ideal - cost me £20 but was problem free!

Hi guys this is a little off track but you'll know why i'm asking.. I'm currently on bootloader 1.06 and want to get to bootloader 1.04 so i can unlock my CID to flash the new ROM with AKU 3.3.. however, I'm running windows vista and when I try to flash the ROM for my CID (i have an imate jasjam), after my phone switches to bootloader mode, the rom update utility comes up with error 260 (cant find/connect my phone/pda). i'm wondering if anyone else is running vista and could help me out? I really want to flash the new rom onto my phone :(

I found a shipping rom (SWE) with 1.04 and the CID is "QTEK_G09" what does that means? can I see what CID I have on my phone now?

Huey85; try de-activating active sync or the Vista equivalent, you may have to do this in task manager, this could be interfering with the connection.

It is possible to downgrade to the 1.04 bootloader from 1.09 without parting with your cash. Anyone else interested in doing so; read the Wiki.

RUU works perfectly now on vista! time for some AKU3.3! :)

The upgrade utility uses its own USB connection. I ran it once and it was ok, another time active sync gave me a deactivate prompt where I deactivated it. Then I had to manually find wceusbsh.sys to enable this usb connection for upgrading tool. It's a driver file that comes with active sync that the upgrade utility uses. With Vista I don't know what you should do. Try disabling USB connections from within the WM device manager and then run the upgrade util. Alternatively see if you can close the active Sync counterpart in the task manager/process tab.

question regarding the new swedish os: my voice command 1.5 isn´t working anymore. has anyone detected something similar problems? or will upgrading help?

I'm using VC 1.6 and it's working with mine. I patched my OS w/ English though and using English VC 1.6.

Are you running this in default Russian language or did you patch it to English? Seems like it breaks after patching to English.

No, there is no english release yet. AFAIK, they are the extracted OS and EXT ROM from the Swedish package.

There is a english version available. I have just upgraded my phone with this:
RUU_Hermes_HTC_WWE_2.05.255.1_6275_1.34.00.10_108_ Test.exe

I upgraded my phone with the swedish ROM yesterday.
The swedish ROM is version 2.05.261.1
The english ROM is version 2.05.255.1

So is it just a typo in the filenames of the extracted ROMs?
The filename says 2.05.263....

What are the experiences with this new version up to now???
I upgraded yesterday to the Swedish version and transformed it to English (using the Chinese-to-English cab from another thread). Installed everything and till now it rocks, really rocks!!!
It is as steady as can be (never had a hang), faster, no more call drops (fingers crossed), solid GPRS/UMTS (although I didn't upgrade my radio 1.20), pictures attached to my contacts (or was that also in version 1.35?).
I'm very happy with it...

Some minor problems:
- can't set my MMS settings
- can't restore my personal files from a previous Sprite backup: after a restore I can't reach my contacts anymore.

Awaiting the final WWE version...

I don't understand Swedish, so I had to patch it to English first. However, bluetooth headset routing still isn't working.

Seems as stable as the Swedish version, flashed it via the 1.01 MFG bootloader method so I cannot really comment on its bootloader.

It is highly advised to be flashed using the MFG method because all the AKU3.3 ROMs as of late have the HTC Bootloader 1.08 for the Radio ROMs. This is the one that prevents solo radio ROM upgrades.

AKU 3.3 Didn't address VoiceCommand v1.6. :-( I just loaded the TEST Rom, installed VoiceCommand 1.6 and it works just like it did on the AKU 2.3 ROM. All notifications going through the device. BT Headset activates the device and still voice and commands are received and spoken trhough the device NOT THE HEADSET.. UGH... Will the pain ever stop?

yeah mine was patched to english as well (though some swedish stuff still lingers on) I thought routing thorough the bt headset was working based on david's post. was going to put in the test version based on that, but i hear its a little slower so I think I may just keep the swedish version for now until something more concrete comes out

Its doubtful.. Right now at this time its only the business customer side of cingular that has changed their name to ATT. The residential customer side is still cingular and has not changed branding yet, they are still crying about the amount of money its going to take to re-brand..

novelust im having 3g issues basically cant 3g data doesnt work or works very infrequently and slow - im in the birmingham uk area - any similarities here? i went into tmobile solihull and tested with their sim and they had a similar problem - they said the tmobile servers keep dropping my data request so disconnecting my connection!

Anyway, my MMS doesn't work. Cannot send or receive MMS-messages.
I have KPN in the Netherlands. I have entered the correct settings, but somehow it doesn't work. Anyone???
