I have had superrom 1.1

IPL - 2.26
SPL - 2.26
OS - 2.26.10.2
Radio - 2.25.11
CID unlocked

If I tryed to flash only Radio part, than the phone was not turn on, but I have flashed Superrom 1.1 back and than flash only OS part of that ROM. The crossbow radio doesn`t working on WM5.0 , but WM 5.0 radio works on crossbow.
"Downgrade" :-D to superrom was without any problems.

About the mui files:

In the ROM, there is only about 15 muis, but it is only small % of aplications, what we need to translate. Many of dll and exe files are in Chinesse, so we will must make many whole muis for them. And with mui files is the ROM very slow compared to original language. The mui files in all WWE ROMs is only for some aplications, what has not lang pack in the core.

I thing it will be better to wait for any QVGA WWE ROM and try it remake for wizard. :-(

WM5 radio on WM6 working confirmed.

Only problem i found with this ROM is that it keeps nagging me for Active Sync 4.5, and it wont allow me to sync via Active Sync 4.2

google for activesync 4.5 beta2. It's very stable and works with this crossbow rom.
Note that i had to disable advanced rndis usb connect mode and switch back to serial usb mode.

they have a new type of smardialing

window update
internet calling
etc etc
there is no mms,and others and the camera app is very limited,this means we will have to integrate those parts .
infortunatly as far as i know WWE has a problem with activesync usb.it can only be sicronized tru bt or ir.
also bear in mind that im almost 100% sure that never will be an official release for the wizard,current roms are all beta tests so be carefull.

in short the roms are what windows mobile should been years ago.

I loaded ActiveSync 4.5 beta 2 and was able to sync no problem the the infamous wm6 chinese rom:D

I have some moderate success in converting it myself.
I deleted a file "poweroffwaring.exe.0804.mui" with the delfile rom edit utility.
Then i flashed the phone again with that rom and now i get the following english warning message when i power down the pone :" Warning Device will be off, and may lose some data. Do you want to continue"

yes, but them mui files is translated only about 7% of system. If you will delete them all, than you will have 93% Chinese and 7% WWE ROM :-D

Whats interesting with this ROM is that it gives me about 29mB of free RAM with normal use...

Only apps i installed so far is SPB Weather, and Live Mail is running in the background with auto sync enabled...

It runs pretty fast, and it is a serious performance enhancement from WM5.

Im shure that if you overclock with WM6, the performance is even better, having in mind that the OMAP 850 runs stable at about 260mHz.

Feel like im flooding this thread, but another issue i have with Chinese version is that when enabling scandinavian hardware keybord (cab-file) all my keys give the symol/letter i expect, but when i try to write a message, there seems to be an integrated converter, that converts all my written words to chinese symbols.

Have anybody figured how to turn this off? (I'm not wery good at chinese:-))

Not a chance in hell im switching back to WM5 before i have a confirmation that this WWE ROM will be released, or that Faria didnt manage to do it, and its a bit stupid to have to write messages through the SIP, when we all have keyboards on our devices...

Windows Mobile Crossbow Edition for 838 Warning 830 818 + G3 has many bugs

He tried a 8125 with G3 and was successful. With a G3, there's no danger. Using a 1.7 or lower to upgrade will give you an error. It is possible to have errors even using the new WM5 ROMs. SPI IPL should be best upgraded to 2.0 or higer first.

He tried to upgrade a 1.7 OS with SPL IPL at 1.X using aWizard 1.2 to upgrade the dopod 838, and with 1-2 seconds the LCD came back displaying errors. He took the G4 radio 2.47 with 2.23 ROM's nbf using G3 RUU to install, and was able to boot, but the GSM was lost. Last, he tried the RUU_Dopod_Wizard_2231301_225_22313101 ROM, then was able to start. Then tried again with aWizard 1.2 and no errors and displays the WM6 screen.

Then he was able to downgrade using the RUU_Dopod_Wizard_2231301_225_22313101 ROM successfully. So, people with G3 should be able to downgrade without any problems.

People with G4, upgrade works fine, but the downgrade will fail. This is a very serious problem.

He felt the ROM operates well, but sometimes will have errors displayed. There's Windows Update functionality. ROM has been successfully working on QTEK 9100 G4, and 8125 G3. Upgraded repeatedly, and without any problems.

It's best if you upgrade ActiveSync to 4.5. G3 can try the ROM, but G4 probably shouldn't since you can't downgrade. 33RAR files total for ROM. Looks like a few members were having problems upgrade using G4 phones as well.

By the way someone posted and said Google translated to landlord. I believe that should be translated as experts. They hope that experts are able to modify the ROM for G4's to use. One user reported you MUST use ActiveSync 4.5 Beta 2 to sync.

One poster has a guide for the update to WM6 in Chinese. I'm downloading it now, and see if I have more info.

I have a 1.x ipl and spl with no problems. My only problem was my fault. I didn't think awizard was working, so I disconnected it. Bad mistake. But, like I've always said "The Button Rom fixes all!" And it did.

the device cannot see the card .this is a dll issue....another version of crossbow had a similar problem and i fixed that....but this one, humm....

if a real version of crossbow WWE for the wizard were to be released here now....microsoft would have a problem with that.but so far as you said they are being nice....we have not received complains yet....but then people that have this roms are being wise and carefull....as you should.

I've successfully installed onto my CID locked Qtek 9100 with IPL/SPL of 2.17.0001. And it went smoothly. But you might want to do a hard reset before starting just like I did. Also make sure run "e" and "u" in awizard before "w".

One thing I don't like in this rom is that there's no way to choose the keyboard as the default input method, instead I get Chinese PinYin. Also cleartype is missing in the screen settings:-(

Ehi Faria I SOLVED THE PROBLEM!!!!

I am using latest Bepe's WWE test rom (the one that solves sync problem but has problem with storage cards), as you probably know, and this morning i decided to do a comparison between chinese default.hv and bepe's one.
The comparison didn't show me anything important but pointed me to the SD card driver's dll, SDMemory.dll. Bepe's rom was missing this dll (that was present in chinese rom); then i copied the dll from the chinese rom to Bepe's, rebooted and voilà, the SD card now is fully working!!!!!!!!!!.

PM me or MSN me (g0d_damn at hotmail dot com) if you need more information. I'm going to inform Bepe too.

I can ensure you it will NOT have any lost performance... but the OS build will be the one from the Universal. It might have been possible to use some files from the new CHS build cos it is newer, but in my opinon we would lose stability by mixing those builds...

This rom is not the chinese one with a different language, it is mainly a Universal's rom ported to wizard (thanks to the drivers in the chinese rom)

So, but i'm not sure, only the drivers and QVGA files have been taken by the chinese rom. Other files are WWE native files. But i repeat, i'm not sure

Great job ! I thought of somethin... What you have it's not a Genuine Crossbow, it's more like a hybrid. So it's not legally owned by microsft. You could get in trouble for selling this product...or for having the actual crossbow...but this one it's not. Anyway...it can't be copywrited unless it's released first. And in my Windows PC it has copywrite on the actual system, I mean The CD is copywrited, not the "notepad" for instance...and you only used some stuff from there and there...It's like cooking your own rom, you only burrow stuff.
I say, release it...but not on this forum...nothin can happen to you, but this forum can be closed only for talking about it.

Have you tested? Does not work in this chinese crossbow ROM.

It does work. Once you modified the registry, the cleartype tab will show up in the screen setting, where you can enable it.

after this afternoon's sad events, developement on the WWE version of the Crossbow rom for our wizard is ended.

The rom i had the pleasure to test, while fully translated and quite stable, still had some bugs, no MMS, basic camera application, old comm manager, no java, and so on...

That said, it is still possible that someone will post somewhere a link to something really interesting...

But, pls, give this person some time...

All of my programs worked fine on the chinese wm6 rom. my current rom is 5.1.x and the wm6 rom is 5.2.x. I didn't notice a whole lot of difference. its kinda a win98 versious winME, except of course winME sux and wm6 doesn't.

This leaked version of Crossbow does not include an Extended Rom. It is only the OS. When flashing, the OS is the only item that changes, thats why you have the same IPL/SPL/GSM/Splash Screens.

to enable Microsoft voice command all you need to do is copy the shortcut from windows to start menu folder ,then assign the buttons ...the same can be done with the camera....now we need to find the reg keys to enable bluethooth headset launch...any ideas?

honestly!!!! crossbow is outdated in the app department. .tons of stuff missing etc....in my opinion the 3.3 is miles better. crossbow is just a shiny wolf.....

i have been working in the crossbow....and my friend we got months of work till there is a ROM that matches the current akus...... mms in in but cant configure ....camera app from the current akus doe not work because it require an htc certificates. also the ROM as Little space to integrate apps....like java etc.... so by the time we finish the rom it will have so many bugs as an ant hill. ehehe.and we are laking real rom chefs in the wizard department.:( once you integrate some of the apps the rom becomes real slow to.
but i guess we cannot expect more from a leaked test ROM.eh eh we have already fixed several issues in the current version.

I am staying by your ROM.


I would have liked to stay by the rom but memory loss < 9 MB left at most times and lockups forced me to go to vanilla crossbow.

no no, it is just the WM6, it doe not have the ext_rom, your phone keeps the one from the rom that you had before you put this new one on!!! but as far as i can see the ext_rom is done a different way in WM6 so the older one do not autorun!!! Maybe something that is missing that makes it run in WM5!

You don't need the dll anymore (but DO NOT delete it). There's no fix for the SD card (the fix was for a previous, unreleased, test build). It should work out of the box. Don't know why it's not working in your phone.

What's the problem with the miniSD card recognition? My 2g miniSD card works fine in the WWE 6 version. I am able to read from/write to and run programs from it.

1. I upgraded from ppcsuper Rom and the ppc boot screen stillappears for some seconds before the wm6 vista screen??? Why?

2. Appears stable and not too slow

3. OMAP overclock register does not work- causes freeze at bootup so do not use it- hard reset is the onlyoption

4. xda registry tweaks still works

5. Tomtom 5.21 works

6. No problem with sd card recognition

7. wireless and internet sharing work

8. wap encryption works

still testing other program will report again.

Does any1 know if this one has usb host capabilities?

@Ayle: Hmmz indeed weird. My MDA Vario runs with a 4gb minisd without any problems. It just recognizes and can use the full 4gb range. I didn't do anything special to get that to work, no other than just push in the card and whalla. Working perfectly. A tip: format your minisd with FAT32 with a card reader and try again.

the wifi works but when i click on the wifi icon (on the top toolbar)
it says TURN WIFI ON but my ssid and connect bars are there!!!!!!!! but it is already on and working. also windows messenger still connects to grps even thought wifi is on and i can't chat with ppl till it connects to gprs even though wifi is on and working ! all the other programs use the wifi perfect

I am trying to set up the html email. When I try select it, it is greyed out and only shows plaint text. If I unselect email check box the go into options I am able to select html email, As soon as I check the email sync box to enable email syncing, after it seems to jump back to plain text. I am syncing with my exchange server. Does anyone else have this problem ? It also seems greyed out when I try enable it from activesync ??

ok I actually got the rom runnin on my phone...seems ok so far, but I have one lil dilemma...what happened to the mms folder? I'm testing the email settings to see If I can trigger that, but as of now I see no mms picture messagin options...only txt msg folder and email folder. someone pls help =0)

in addition to that, I sent myself a test email with a small attachment to the one I had set up on my phone, but it didn't rcv it, however I got a txt msg that confirmed that a msg was sent to the email i have set up on my phone.i also sent another email with no attachment which did arrive to the email setup with my mda....when I tried to reply to tha msg that did go thru, i rcv'd an error msg that says " the msg could not be sent. check that you have network coverage and that your account information is correct.then try sending again" ...I know that i set up the settings for this email because it is a gmail account and theres a small tutorial that will walk you thru to set it up for your phone...

When you say you have the MDA, I hope you mean the MDA Vario? If not, no, you can't use this ROM.

As for your data settings, there are numerous posts with cab files with all of the operator settings on, that will be your easiest option.

I found that I am unable to enable html email when attempting to sync with an exchange server. However html email does work when I set up another account and pop into it. The option for html email is greyed out in the activesync mail option settings and is set to to "plain text".

ANYONE got html email working though exchange server ie PUSH HTML EMAL. ??
or are most of you popping in,

My GOD WM6 is fast on the Wizard.

I'm no MSoft fan by nature (Mac & Linux all the way...) but Redmond has done good with this. I wonder who did it for them? :-) And for the first time ever I've got push e-mail (for free) courtesy of Outlook on the Wizard and mail2web.com (mail2web Live).

I played with a friend's Palm Treo last night (whatever the latest one is, he's just bought it) and it was really responsive. My G3 Wizard now feels just the same - it's like a new phone.

I can only imagine what the Treo will run like with WM6 installed!

make sure you pc has the option to show hhiden files....copy the reg key to the ppc and import with a reg editor like the one in taskmanager.

2 problems with the camera i can't copy the coredll.dll file to the ppc an era comes up saying i don't have permission and in task manager i can't import the file just folders come up no files are being displayed

because a im not getting paid!!!!!! :( if you want it send me the money for net develepor etc etc... $2000 should get me somewere....
have you got an idea what it took to actually put this toguether? .....or you could use the rom native camera it does what you propose.;)

I have a probleme with your camera Pack, Y copy all files in good place i import the reg files. if i launch the Camera.exe my M3000 say this files is not signed :X so its don't launch. And if i launch the camera apps rom others place. its juste flip my screen in landscape. Any idea ?

When i import the reg key it says that it is not a valid registry key. I import it with the resc file explorer registry plugin. I already successfully imported several reg files with it but it won't work with yours. What can i do?

Well I have been playing with making a cab file for the cam App for all you that are using WM6, Well Faria did all the hard work and I am just adding on to all his great work. This should put the cam app on Phone, but it is not tested.

Feed back would be great, as this is the first cab i have made, that has not be just for me to use.

We're talking 'bout the WM6 Camera or something special.

I used the advice on the same site as where the rom came from:

try tapping the hidded tick in total commander twice till the tick is completely out of the box, if it just turns shaded its still there when you come back.:)

doesnt the Camera.lnk file open the "New Camera" and the Camera.exe open the old WM5 camera? which is the one i want.. i still cant go into settings in the Camera..

Hidden--always comes back to a check

Rom-- is greyed out and has a check.
