Dear Friends,

Just like you I am also a PDA freak. I have had these handheld marvels since several years and am deeply into them.

I have owned an O2 XDA mini for over 6 months now. I found a shocking defect in the covers provided by O2. The cover has a strong magnet which tends to move the direction of the screen when I put or remove the device from its cover.

My friend who is using the same mobile has had the same problem. But sadly his screen has become inverted permanently now. We have tried all troubleshootings and have written several mails seeking help and reporting the quality issue to O2 and also its manufacturer HTC. But there has been no response from either of the parties.

What I can suggest immediately for everyone is to STOP USING THE MAGNETIC COVERS FOR THE MOBILES to avoid the problems we have faced or you shall have to burden your pockets once again with at least one third the price of your phone (the cost of the screen and its labor charge as the service centre has refused to repair it under warranty). I shall update you about any replies I get.

Regards
Karan Aggarwal

I think what he meant by 'covers', is the holding case.
Yeah, we know.. but have the screen rotated permanently, that's new.

And Karan, I know you did it with good will, but, try not to multi-posts. Thanks :D

Curious, did you try Settings>Screen then check if landscape mode is active?

You say you tried everything but maybe it's not the magnet but the slider mechanism has become dirty? I'm not sure how the slider has been implemented but it's possible something got jammed inside.

Yes, I have tried it. But nothing is working out. I have got the device check ed up. The repair center says it needs a replacement that too at my cost.
