Hi,

Also I'm trying IGO now (realy.. fast), but still thinking about MN6 (tmc).
I have tested MN6 on both AKU 3.x and the new WM6.... started but has a memory problem after displaying the moving map or calculating the route...
So in my opinion... MN6 is a no go for HTC Universal. (I am using Navigon for years now, but now I think of switching to route66 with maps from q2/2006)
Igo has nice grafics but bad maps (here in germany the maps are from teleatlas like tomtom) Navigon and Route66 are using Navteq maps (MN6 from Q4/2005 and Route66 from Q2/2006)

- Internet Sharing (easy way to make Uni into a 3G USB modem)
Yes.
- Full screen Terminal Services (VJ's app battles on Uni - think it's now a WM6 feature)
Yes.
- Turn on/off WiFi from bubble (I think not from previous posts)
Turn ON - yes, turn OFF only from CommMgr.
- Connect/disconnect GPRS from bubble (also think not)
Yes with small registry change.

Unknown to me, the 'clean' source i was given to make this ROM was actually heavily customized already to fix some major bugs and flaws by Helmi_C. He deserves the main credit for this ROM, but i will continue to keep it up to date :) - no hard feelings?
Hi, as you may know I've been here (xda-developers) for quite a while, In this time i have been learning the art form that is rom building, my teachers (at least i think of it like that ;) include maimach (How can he be human?), Tuatara (God of all things WM5 on BA), Lt.Cmdr.Ivan, Helmi_c and many others (thanks everyone, sorry if i didnt mention you)
Finally in December 2006 i had a chance to use this knowledge i have gathered when i acquired a pre-release version of WM6 from a good friend (you know who you are ;) ) Since then i've spent days tweaking and fixing bugs in this rom, i wanted to wait until it was perfect to release, but due to recent event s i think now would be the best time, so i present you with My first ROM for Universal and my First Crossbow rom...
Current State of things:
Bugs:
Video Calling doesn't work (im working on this - thanks bepe)
In REALvga mode (addon cab) if you have owner information or password set to display on boot then you will hang your device, hard reset needed. im stuck as to what is causing this, anyone got any ideas?
Occasionally after flashing the phone will reset into bootloader - not load OS. a quick "set 14 0" in mtty fixes this (again anyone got any ideas?)
Features:
Version 5.2.318 (Build 15341.0.0.0)
Most Stable Crossbow rom for universal (verified by two beta testers who have tried them all)
Free Storage 40mb
Free RAM 30mb
Cache Tweaks for Performance
New Comm Manager hacked for speed and look (WM6 Background)
No Bloat
Coming soon:
Video Call Drivers
AKU 0.1
Well i've rambled on too long here ill give you the links :)
Rapidshare.com:
http://rapidshare.com/files/12143324/midget_1990_v0_1_vanilla_wm6.rar.html
Addons:
REALvga mode (Read the bug above first!):
ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Universal/midget_1990/midget_1990_realvga_wm6.cab
Tweaks and hacks:
Includes: Oxios Close apps (great tool) and map to backlight button. (ability to change backlight button also)
A collection of IE tweaks for faster and more stable surfing
Enable b/g wifi mode
Set keyboard and audio priority to better values
Enable cleartype for both modes
Change cache sizes for faster device

dear Midget:
because i am Chinese, I want to replace the smart_dial in this system by a chinese Ver. , would you mind told me how to delete the file in rom, and modify *.hv files

2 things.
when we upgrade to aku 1 of your rom (which i will be doing ;) )
can i just run an spb backup to get all my progs back? without reinstalling them and finding them etc etc.
2nd: my phone is having a big mem loss problem. im mostly showing 16mb free, with nothing running in background other that resco today plug in and journal bar. on previous roms i was left sitting with about 24mb.
tried using the sk tools free ram but that still only frees me 16 mb too, after a reset ill have 20mb for 20 mins then drop down to 16mb again.

I think you need to spend more time reading the wiki as everything you need to know is there.
If you don't understand what you are reading, you really shouldn't be messing with your device just yet.
Take the time to learn about the device, and the terminology before you make more problems for yourself.

Hi,
I have the same problem, could you explain how you drain the battery?
Thanks.
once again its risky and u might be having software problems, u can drain the battery using a multimeter and by makin a current flow if u r unsure abt this then don try it and in some cases 12v might come in risky try 5 v instead keep a multimeter and constantly chk the voltage across the battery.
PS: try it at ur own risk.....nothing happend to my battery doesn't mean wont happen to urs.

Hi all, has anyone managed to get the screenroation working on this ROM? I installed the CAB file from JWright's AKU3.2 ROM, soft reset but found no icon at the bottom. I looked into the registry setting and it is set to display icon so no idea why it doesn't.
I need this despritely because I use Tomtom 6 (TT6) in lanscape mode. Problem is there is no screenroation in TT6 and my car holder for the Universal is designed for lanscape use. So I have to rotate the screen to lanscape when I use my Universal with the car holder but it displays in portrait mode unless I can have the screenroation icon to click at, help please!!

If you first set your universal to landscapemode and then start TomTom it is already in the right mode

I've installed this ROM and, at the end I find myself with two Storage folders (Storage and Storage Cards) I usually store email attachments in Storage Card and so I did but I find the atttachments are in Storage not in Storage Card.
I also tried all kind of Extended ROm unlockers/unhiders but the result is that now I have three folders - Storage, Storage card and Extended ROM.
How can I get rid of Storage and Extended ROM so that I can store the attachments in Storage Card?
Thank you for your help

I had the same issue a long time ago, the rom was not really unlocked, it was visible but not unlocked. Should not happen with the new WM6 ROMs only with the AKU3.x ROMs.
search the forum for unlocking extended rom.

installed this rom today....im quite new to the HTC universal as i have only owned the device for a week. the rom installed fine with only one slight problem... after i installed it took 3 reboots untill the tap screen displayed...OH WELL not the end of the world as this isnt release candidate software. on first impressions the rom worked really well...but i have still found a couple of little issues. wifi does not stop from bubble as other people have posted....not a big deal. the windows live messenger and live services didnt work at first(kept on saying something about time and date although they were set right) after a few atempts the software has worked fine!! :) GOOD STUFF as i seem to be addicted to mobile messenger. when i had my older rom on the display screen i had a little link to my battery, this seems to have now disapeared but still not a major problem as you can check through settings. seems a little heavier on battery than my last rom which was version:-
Operator version: 7.113.1.130
ROM version: 1.13.49 WWE
ROM date: 09/20/05
Radio version 0.00.00
Protocol version: 42.37.p8
ExtROM version: 1.13.130 WWE
still havent installed a radio version as i have not read up about this yet... but other than all the problems listed above. i am very happy with this rom!!! and windows live messenger is a lovely piece of software!!! if your into that thing, which i am greatly! keep up the good work, looking forward to the finished product! peace x

Its a wierd one, but simply set the camera button to something else, then set it back to camera and it works.
Great ROM, thanks Midget.
Issues I've noticed; No connect/disconnect of WiFi (as previously pointed out), and Ive had it freeze on the today screen after soft resets occasionally.
Other than that, great ROM, and keep up the good work.

Hi All
As you can see don't post much at all - prefer to read and learn.
But I had to say THANK YOU to everyone who has developed this release and to all who constructively participate on this forum.
Don't know if it helps, but my XDA Exec is only a couple of months old (had one for over a year but lots of O2 swap outs) running boot loader 2.01 like Midget.
I have not had ANY of the issues reported here, all buttons working perfectly, media player perfect, O2+ perfect, MS Live Perfect either 3G, GPRS, Bridged through active sync. SmartDialer Perfect, Voice Command 6 perfect, Bluetooth perfect NO Memory Leaks
So wondering if the "newer" universals have something....
Also just cos everything is so perfect and I really don't want to do a hard reset. Any issues with the SPD products (Backup, Weather, Plus)?
Thanks again :)

Internet Sharing is FAR better:
(optional) switch to 3G band if you have forced GSM
Fire up Internet Sharing
Click connect
THEN (ie not before) connect USB to PC
Your PC will realise it has a network connection and it will work. COuld not be simpler nor faster to get going. Calls and sms still work.

Internet Sharing is quite useful even with Linux, I have used it via Bluetooth which turns the Universal into a PAN server, so you just need to launch pand -c <univ_bdaddr> and your DHCP client on interface bnepX (where X starts from 0), once you get the IP address everything is done :)
Initially this PAN server profile is configured just to allow one client connection, but this can be changed...IIRC from settings and (I'm sure) from editing some registry values.

Just to say with this rom AND midget's tweaks I was getting a few errors after tweaking a few bits myself (think main one was enabling the GPRS disconect button = GPRS started after soft reset each time automatically!)
Also WMP froze, camera button was screwed, voice command didn't work, couldn't see my sim cards STK services (voicemail etc) within Programs and some other stuff so I decided to hard reset and only install the VGA pack and am very happy with the ROM after more than 24 hours with all the above working so maybe there are a couple of small errors in that tweaks cab?
I don't have the ability to see what that cab actually changes so am only saying what I experienced - might help others that aren't 100% happy with this and both additional cabs added?
Thanks again all who made this possible!

can you be more specific as to the next steps after pand -c <univ_bdaddr> ?
i.e. step by step for a non linux pro like me?
I have a Pepper Pad 3 which I would like to test this PAN out on...

Something I noticed. I setup Activesync mail to use HTML format but after the first sync, the mails reverted to Plain Text and I cannot switch formats. With Windows Live mail & other POP accounts HTML formatting works with no problems, only experienced with Activesync mail. Does anyone else have the same problem?
BTW, Midget, this is a great ROM. Appreciate your effort.

my ONLY request is that if you download it you should also re upload it for others like us who are stuck with NTL/Telewest cable modems.

I just gave this ROM a try. It's really amazing really good... I love everything but I noticed one major issue which I also had (though slightly different) with every ROM. With this ROM it comes with the ExtROM unlocked and displayed. The problem is that when using Messages for email (Outlook Synchronize or configured email account) i store my attachments on the SD card. Problem with having the ExtROM unlocked (and same with all other ROMs when unlocking it) you only have the option to save the message attachments to the first Storage device, i.e. "Storage".
Does anyone know how to change that. I'm going to try hacking the registry and hidding the ExtROM or perhaps I can rename them so the actual SD Card is displayed first before the Storage, that way I can select it for the attachments.
Other than this does anyone know of any other way or program that I can do or use? Thanks.

You method should work.
But why leave the attachment in the Email (in main or in Storage)? It is anyway not being compressed when is embedded in the email and cannot be read without the email software which is troublesome.
So just extract it from the email and save to whereever you want, compressed or not compressed and delete it from the email.
The actual place the email puts the attachement when "it is not define to be store in Storage Card" is actually in "\Windows\Messaging\Attachment". After download to whereever you want, delete the files here to gain space.

In most cases I wouldn't sync the attachments but I've got a 1GB SD Card so it's convenient for me with my work to have the attachments with the emails as they often contain information regarding the attachments. It would be beneficial if the email and calendar app had search/index capabilities like MS Outlook 2007.
However that's a really nice technique. Never really thought of it. Thanks. ;)

Hi,
can't activate Voice Command or Speeddialer over my Plantronics Pulsar Headset.
In WM 5.0 I just press the Phone Button and SSDialer or Voice Command coms up. What Do I need to do ... to make it work.
Currently when I press the Phone button, nothing happens. When I press it twice, WM 6.0 opens Phone and just dial the last number in queue.
Has anyone an idea?

Guys, we talk about 'fast'; and 'slow' ROMS. I sense that 1 man's 'fast' is another's 'crippling', and that 'slow' may be compared to a PC.
Does anyone have a way of explaining how 'fast' this WM6 is so those of us considering the upgrade can try to get a sense as to whether it truly is better than our kitchen ROMS. Perhaps the time taken to flip with a few today items? Perhaps the time to open PI2007 from a closed state? Perhaps the time to fire up Opera? Not sure what's a reasonable measure that is not affected by the SD card speed.
Also, when commenting on battery consumption, I find the following procedure yields an objective measure (use it myself to detect problematic software):
- use the free acbPowerMeter
- Set backlight to 1 notch above off (second from lowest)
- Turn off WiFi, but ensure GSM conneciton (2 bars or more else hunting will result in powr spikes)
- Close all apps
- Fire up acbPowerMeter and note the consuption (around 130mA) that the 'Now' number settles down to after around 30 seconds.
- Note if there are spikes in this 30 second period.

Thnx!
First download the mtty utility (http://forum.xda-developers.com/download.php?id=9864)
1. Take out the SD and SIM cards
2. Open ActiveSync and go to file > connection settings and Uncheck "Allow USB Connections". Then press Ok and close ActiveSync
3. Put in bootloader mode (Power + Light + reset) which brings up the "un-backlit" screen with "Serial" at the top and v1.XX at the bottom
4. Plug in USB cable DIRECTLY from PC to Universal (MAKE SURE NOT TO USE A USB HUB)
5. Open mtty utility / software
6. Select USB from the "Port" drop-down on the upper left corner of the dialog box and hit OK
7. Then another screen will come up. Hit enter and that will show "USB>"
8. Type "set 14 0" and hit enter
9. Unplug and soft reset

Nice work on the ROM.
Thought I would add my $0.02..
Problems confirmed (from other posts)
-G3 Device (BL1.01) experiences occasional lockups on boot, always seem to be at phone PIN screen.
-Camera button has problems with shortcut
-SPB Backup 1.5.0 (2421) has problems with "\windows\compimeh.dat", but otherwise seems to create a good backup.
-Can't see button lock feature anywhere (nice for my pocket not to phone a mate).
-Internet telephone connection thing doesn't seem to want to play.
Things I have running ok
-PI 2007 (latest version)
-iLauncher
-PocketBreeze
-GSPlayer
-LexisGoo (dictionary)
-TotalCommander
-TomTom 5.5
-NetFront 3.3
General Comments
-ROM is faster but not amazingly so over Helmi 3.2 ROM
-Memory seems to be more stable
-New smart dialer is VERY good (start typing name to bring up phone)
-Graphics are pretty sweet.
Thanks for keeping it clean. Only further requests are to look into lockup, add button lock function and add videocall support.
Cheers.

I've used this rom and except for the 'boot' lockup at the pin screen I haven't really had any problems so far.
Only this rom is using the MS BT stack right ?
I've used the aku 3.5 helmi_c before this, and I think that had the widecomm bt stack, which worked better for me.
I only have 3 tabs on the bluetooth page, with the aku 3.5 I had like 6+
I also can't create a incomming comm port. And besides from the fact the speed dialer seems like it works, I can't answer calls with my headset because it needs to connect all the time.
is there any way I can change the bt ?

Found the small patch to make voice command called from bt headset.
just changed the path somewhere from ssdialer.exe to voicecmd.exe
Not a big deal, but there is still a problem. The voice command getts called now, but it uses the onboard microphone and not the one in my headset.
Btw. it is a plantronics pulsar 590 in A2DP operation mode.
Maybe this only works with a "normal" old fashoned mono headset crap?

Midget: i really appreciate your efforts making this possible.
however, i have a slight issue that seems like a memory leak:
almost everytime i checked my free program memory on my JasJar, i only had 10-11MBs!
using Oxios Closeapps v1.40 frees up a little.. but i mostly never get anything above 14MB free
after a soft reset, i have 21.44MB Free program memory.
i do NOT have any 3rd party applications installed.. my usage is mainly Phonecalls (this is pretty slow) and SMS.
i have about 600 contacts on the phone, and i'm starting to wonder if these are to blame
although after a soft reset, launching contacts, messaging and the phone app, and browsing call history doesn't raise the memory utilization much.. i still have almost 20MB free memory :S

Have you tried a soft reset on your device, and rebooting your PC?
Also check USB is enabled in the connection settings of ActiveSync on your PC.
If that fails, try looking in the connection settings of your device, and take the tick out of "Enable advanced network functionality"

To make VoiceCommand work as intended with BT headsets (with this ROM), check these Registry Keys:
HKLM\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand\LaunchAPEnable : 0
HKLM\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand\VoiceCmdEnable : 0 (really needed?)
HKLM\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path : \Windows\VoiceCMD.exe
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTA GExtModule : \Windows\vcbthag.dll
With other ROMs you have to enter the Path of the Voice Command executable in the Path key, and put vcbthag.dll in windows folder (or enter in the BTAGExModule key the path to the dll)
I'm not sure if BT headsets without Hands Free profile will fit the role.
To Avoid the initial freeze on Soft Resets just remove the SD Card while booting.

There is an option to find out about the missed call thru voice command. But when asked voice command will read out the numbers and not name even though the number is saved under contacts.
This is a minor glitch but hopefully MS will fix this on the update.

I do hear name for incoming calls.
What I meant was, there is an option (a way to ask your phone through voice command) if you have any missed call. When I did that (test), instead of saying "You have missed calls from Person A" it would say "You have missed call from 0123456789" even though the person A is on the contact list, and for incoming calls Voice command say "Call from Person A".

Midget, FIRSTLY I HAVE RE-READ THIS THREAD TO MAKE SURE I AM NOT ASKING ISSUES ALREADY COVERED!
I am currently using the PDAVIET version which works very well for me and I now accept both of these are most likely from the same microsoft / helmi base rom. (Alan will be pleased to read this!) So I am thinking of switching over to yours because of ongoing support and tweaks etc.
Revised rom queries:
Are you thinking of removing Cyberon voice command and made VC 1.6 standard in your current rom? (previously asked but not answered) Or are the tweaks mentioned going to be set by default in revised registery settings?
The video dialing button is not available for mapping in the pdaviet version. Do you leave this button mapping in your rom?
Will Autorun be reactivated so we can auto install again from our extended roms? (I notice I can still unhide the extended rom in WM 6 roms but they are empty as well.)
And the usual... How far away is an an update?

- My Universal is set to sound : mute
Are you able to here this message IN the BT800 ?

If you are hearing the incoming call only through your BT headset, then that is probably to do with the way Voice Command is configured. If you go to Settings, then Voice Command, you will see a notifications option. Here there are 3 options as to how notifications are handled - the default one is to only route sound to a BT headset; the second one routes sound to a BT headset if one is connected and the third is to only route sound to the internal speakers.
Might be worth a try...

24th January 2007, 12:05 PM
And i'm still on the 1st one (only route to bluetooth)
To summarize :
1) if I press my BT800 button, I hear the invit to say something, then I hear the confirmation of my request ... and the actual call (if it was "call Mr XXX at Home")
2) if I call my Universal from a different phone, it will ring then couple of second later speak loud the inbound caller name (if he's in my contacts), and my BT800 is ringing with the usual tone (no VC voice)... finally I hear caller's voice correctly in my BT800
EDIT : I was using VC1.6FR for the above testing, I've just reflashed -again- this rom... And you're right, the popup will display the contactname, but VC won't tell the name but just the number... :(
Another question :
Does someone know where is the registry key to change the onscreen keyboard layout ? (I was able to change the physical from QWERTY to the French one)
Thanks !!!
(and ... having the french engine in the rom, or being able to change it would be excellent)

For the BT thing everyone must tweak for their own case, the registry hacks you have to know in order to make VC work are on this thread.
Does someone know where is the registry key to change the onscreen keyboard layout ? (I was able to change the physical from QWERTY to the French one)
I can't figure out why the typical end-user lose time to post in a forum when googleing some keywords like "htc universal french layout" can give you the answer in about 1 sec and in the first result.
And, most of all, why such users are using a unstable tech preview ROM? Do they enjoy complaying so much?

Well to be absolutely honest and extremely blunt, if we all were to find the answers via googling then what is the point of this forum as well as this site? Yes, this ROM is slightly buggy but isn't unstable. The point of "discussing" the matter is to find out different ways and the best way to get something to work or done. I'm not saying don't look for it elsewhere, but to also post any findings here which could help people learn more and well contribute more.

This is about the following registry key:
HKLM\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand\LaunchAPEnable : 0
(if it's set to 1, it will go thru the speakers and not the headset)
Haha!!! Well Done!! F.....g well done!

(Such "endusers" are sometime called early adopters, and guess what it helps in the dev/testing process...)
Anyway...
So about the keyboard, I did the exact google query that was suggested, and the first hits are about remapping the PHYSICAL keyboard (which i was already able to figure myself by parsing the registry)
So far I found these keys (but none worked)
HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd\Locale = xxxx (DWORD decimal with LCID value)
HKCU\Keyboard Layout\Preload\Default = xxxx (DWORD decimal..)
HKCU\Keyboard Layout\Preload\1\DEfault = xxxx (DWORD decimal...)

I have a French Qtek9000 and this has worked for me:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\QWERTY
Change the "Layout" key to HEX "1040C" for AZERTY French layout
Then soft reset
I also think these other values work (not tested)
german : 0407
italian : 0410
japanese : 0411
kazakh : 043F
russian : 0419
EDIT: sorry did not see the bit about it being the "onscreen" keyb!

That's what I did a long time ago, results are :
- physical keyboard correctly supported (A is accepted as A -not Q-)
- but if you need the onscreen keyboard, it will still display the US one.

its not possible to change the layout of the onscreen keyboard via registry. For a real french or for me german keyboard you need something like resco keyboard or another softkeyboard replacer.

Tip: with PDAviet rom, the VoiceCommand is working as expected (in both case, when dialing... AND when receiving incoming call : the notification will go in the earset, AND the contact name is spoken)

Only recently came across this site. Had my O2 XDA Exec for about 6 months and knew all the O2 apps and branding was holding it back, but didn't have a clue on just how customisable it is.
After a couple of days reading the wiki and forums I gave this WM6 Rom a try, and my god, what a difference! Thanks very much Midget! And thanks for this site.

After testing for a day did find a couple of glitches...
TCPMP not streaming too well, buffers a lot more than usual and caused system to crash when closing a couple of times.
After soft reset, phone hung a couple of times once WM loaded (RealVGA not added), needed further reset.
The Live thing always trying a GPRS connection was extremely annoying! Think that's a M$ thing... seems a strange way of doing it. At one time I had both wireless and PC connection and it STILL went for GPRS! That can't be sensible lol.
On the plus side... speed and memory was awesome! Can really see some potential with this ROM. Am waiting for a final release version!
Congrats on your efforts Midget and Helmi etc!

Other than that, the WM6 ROMs are beautiful. I'm using PDAViet because it has a few more applications and programs that Midgets Vanilla ROM (obviously it being Vanilla).

Addons:
REALvga mode (Read the bug above first!):
ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Universal/midget_1990/midget_1990_realvga_wm6.cab
Tweaks and hacks:
Includes: Oxios Close apps (great tool) and map to backlight button. (ability to change backlight button also)
A collection of IE tweaks for faster and more stable surfing
Enable b/g wifi mode
Set keyboard and audio priority to better values
Enable cleartype for both modes
Change cache sizes for faster device
ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Universal/midget_1990/midget_1990_tweaks_and_hacks.cab
Downloaded this ROM and tried it in xda exec hardware from o2. All seems to work weel, although I find that when connected through GPRS or UMTS for data connection to internet that there is no "disconnect" button on the connection pulldown from the title bar. Any ideas?

Out of curiousity, can you tell me which radio you are using?

New issue: WiFi with WPA (advanced users only need read)
I've been battling with accessing a WiFi WPA-PSK AP at work. FINALLY found problem manifested when I connected iMate to PC. Much reading on this forum lays the blame firmly with various ROMs. Seems this ROM may have the issue. Manifests as follows:
- Connecting iMate to an unsecured AP is fine
- Connecting iMate to a WPA secured AP results in AP kicking everyone off (after iMate follows correct prompts for PSK)
- Connecting phone to PC with PC having WiFi access to AP results in AP kicking everyone off, and behaving very erracitally until culprit PC is rebooted. Yep, rebooted - nothing else works.
Had this issue across 3 routers: Belkin, and 2x Linksys. Have spent last couple of months changing routers and cursing dumb IT contractors...ooops.
Solution is to disable AP's WPA (I think even WEP) and use MAC address security instead. Reboot PC used to access AP first tho else you'll think changes u r making are not working.

anyone tried tomtom with it?
i wana try this tonight but cant find my god damn usb lead!
Reply:Yes it does work.I've tried on a Wizard with WM6 but there's a couple of tricks though.
1- On Tomtom files etc...there's a file named "2577" and erase the 2 app called "ttn" and "ttn2003".If u have another one called "crack" erase the app in there as well because you won't need it anymore as the app below do the job :)
2 - Install an app cab called "ttn6ifalleni" you can find it on emule if u dont have it. Copy this app cab to your pda and run it.
And off you go ;)

Yeah, Midget's ROM was the best one for me too.
It was the most "Vanilla one" and it never froze or leaked memory for me.
It had no stupid problems like having Resco Explorer unable to send files by Bluetooth or having trouble with the Resco Today Plugin.
It had no Extended ROM, yet unlocked and unhidden, which is the way I want it.
So why WAS this my best ROM and why talking in the past sentence?
- Windows Mobile 6 has still a few bugs/shortcomings which aren't fixed in any present ROM.
- Windows Mobile 6 doesn't have videocalling. Ofcourse encouraging attempts like Jwrightmcps's, but still it isn't working.
- Windows Mobile 6 doesn't come with the Bluetooth DUN-profile (at least none of the current cooked ones does).
Anyway, reasons for me to have the WM5 AKU 2.0 restored. Combined with WM6's Remote Desktop and the full Windows Live it still works as a charm!!
But to be honest, if I had to stick with WM6... it would definately be Midget's.

About 20 minutes ago i was using my PC for testing some new stuff out for the rom(s). Suddenly there was a horrible noise, inbetween a POP and a BANG. My PC died, now when i turn it on i get NOTHING. the fans spin up but that is all.
Without my computer i cannot continue development (or my A-levels). i am working on getting what i had off my hard drives atm. i might be able to post an updated one of the old build soon....
in the meanwhile im gonna be working 24/7 to afford to fix my pc (i have about £5 to my name atm...)
if anyone feels like giving me a hand (Any amount will help) it would be most appreciated, ill think of a way to repay you if i can, perpahps something like more input into what i put in the roms/preview releases/your own personal custom cooked rom, let me know if you donate :)

Thank you all for being supportive and such.
Edit: just FYI this was posted from my brother's PC

Seeing as Midget has a computer now (I presume, since he did say he bought the parts), I thought I may as well resurrect this thread
After using the ROM for a while I have come across 1 problem: Outlook has no profile for MMS, nor anywhere I can set options for MMS
Is this just me or is this a problem?
Thanks

i didnt include ArcsoftMMS as it's a vanilla rom, there are cabs for it on the FTP :)
