Hi everyone...I'm trying to load PhonePad onto my Trinity...tried several different ones that I found here on this website...rremoved them, added them on top of each other, soft reset, didn't reset...I think I tried all variations, but still doesnt work...all that happens is that I can see phonepad as an aoption in the input screen, but when I click on it, it goes to keyboard...I tried clicking on transcriber, and then phonepad...nada...same with other combos...still nothing...

Can anyone tell me what to do or what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks,

Louay

I uninstalled phonepad, instaed your app, ran it, reinstalled phonepad, and still nothing...I open the app sipchange, and try to select phonepad (inside sipchange) but it still goes back to keyboard...very strange...

You did this and it worked for you?

Thanks,

L

Sorry for my english... so..
you must put a link of sipchange.exe into windows/startup with this string:
"....\sipchange.exe" SET (to do this i had use resco explorer).
Soft reset

Am trying as I type...went into startup and cipchange was already there, so changed the name to cipchange.exe..then opened sipchange, SETit to phonepad..soft reset, and now its ready for the test

.........

NOTHING...I've never even seen the phonepad work on this phone..some people at least got to use it a few times...Iàm almost thinking of a hard reset...

For those that might be interested...

I hard reset, THEN loaded phonepad and it works like a charm...the onl problem is that it writes the words as you type them, and only once you chose the word or hit space does it place it in your text, so you can't use the predictive text, and sometime miss the last word of the sms...other than that it's awsome...

I'm a little confused..

I had the DOPOD rom installed with the phonepad installed as standard and got quite used to it. I upgraded to the HTC WWE rom yesterday and after reading about the trouble with geting phonepad to work, I followed the instructions about installing the G4 SIP editor and then the phonepad app. It worked but caused issues with other input methods like the normal keyboard.

So this morning, I've re-installed the rom and re-installed the phonepad app, and it seems to be working perfectly without the need for the G4 SIP, which has got me a little worried and confused. I wasn't expecting it to work at all, when in fact, it works like it used to on the DOPOD rom and doesn't mess up the normal keyboard input method.

What is the G4 SIP app supposed to do or prevent?

I have no idea but I didn't like the phonepad as an add on...it doesn't guess words etc because you type first then insert...I've moved on to a treo 750 and this is probably the best phone related move I've made in quite some time...
