Ohh yeah baby,
It's been done. They havn't said it has been done, but I assume that it has since I have checked their sice a couple times a week for the past couple of months just waiting for something to be said. They have removed the message about Softbank phones being unable to unlock. So I "ASSSUME" that you can now fully crack your phone with Softbank v1.09. Also for the simle fact that it is version 4 http://www.imei-check.co.uk/M3100v4Unlock.zip of their software instead of version 3. So, now we can crack, our X01HTs, we can downgrade to 1.04, flash with a English rom, then downgrade again to 1.01 and then flash with our custom splash screens.
Imei-check has cracked post December Softbank phones.

Interesting! Anyone tried it? Are you x01ht post december 2nd, able to flash another radio after unlocking?
GbMan

Success!!
I tried as soon as I saw this post, I had previously bought the IMEI thingy (technically speaking) and realized that my phone was a post Dec. (I originally thought I got it in November, but I realized that I was just an idiot)
anyways a couple minutes later I'm using my Docomo Card on my unlocked Softbank phone.
I'm not gonna lie, it was well worth the $40.
Now, I am not sure if my mail is working. So you guys have any idea about the Docomo mail if that works or not on the Hermes?

Unlocck Success, but unable to flash another radio version.
I tried radio version 1.16 and 1.20,but unable.
They say as follows;
(1)
How do upgrade other radios:
Unlock using v4b unlocker. Upgrade again to the X01HT 1.09 rom. Now flash the phone with a COMPLETE rom (for example cingular 1.24 or imate ). Now the radio will be changed to something else. YOU MUST flash a full rom on a 1.09 so your radio it be flashing too.
(2)
ok again. PRIOR to flashing NEW RADIO ROM you have to upgrade to bootloader SPL1.09. You DO NOT NEED to run the unlocker again. Your phone has to show SPL1.09 when you run the ROM update with the radio of your choice.
Extended ROMs are EMBEDDED in the firmware update. Any access from WindowsCE to this ROM has nothing to do with SIM or CIDunlock.
So solution:
1) Update to bootloader SPL 1.09
2) Then run the update with radio firmware you like
NOTE: DO NOT RUN THE UNLOCKER AGAIN! Then it will work.

i don't fully understand you. are you saying imei-check says;
1) you can actually change radio rom 1.14 on x01ht?
2) you need to have bootloader 1.09 (by burning a full rom that includes bootloader 1.09 first) to burn a rom from different companies? after unlocking??
3) you should not use the unlocker more than once?
we'd appreciate if you could give us a clearer idea about the process. thanks.

To upgrade radio on a new "1.14.00.10 radio":
First unlock the device with v4b unlocker.
After unlocked ok, upgrade AGAIN to the SB firmware so the 1.09 bootloader back in place.
Now flash the device with a FULL original HTC Hermes firmware (for example cingular full firmware) and now the radio will be flashed to a different one.
IF bootloader is NOT showing SPL1.09 the radio it will NOT be flashed when you do the flash upgrade!!!

Thank you. But it is not unable to flash another radio rom.
I downgladed SPL from 1.09 to 1.04 for myself first, changed to a DOCOMO ROM.
And succeeded unlock to use M3100v4Unlock.exe.
However, the radio was unable to flash another radio rom.
Then,I read this advice, flashed a New Softbank Rom.
It was no lock.
However,can not run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe.
Unable to flash radio rom.
I think because SPL is 1.09.
Then,M3100v4Unlock.exe was made to run again.
When it used this tool, it became automaticaly SPL to downglade to SPL1.04.
I can run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe.

Hi all.
My Softbank has b/l 1.04 and the 1.14.00.10 radio on it. To use this method, which rom do I use for the 1.09 b/l? I looked at wiki, and the only one was a Japanese version for softbank. It does not match my Softbank, so I am not real sure which way to go. Is there a Dopod rom with the 1.09 b/l?
BTW.....My Sb is an HERM200 with the Dopod splash screen and was shipped with the Dopod 1.23.707.4 WWE Rom, IPL 1.01,B/L 1.04, and the dreaded 1.14.00.10 radio on it.

i dont think that they will release it and sell it , without checkin it in GSM mode.
anyway, as i used my X01HT in GSM before, from my understanding this is only unlocking the phone, if GSM were working before it should work even after the update?
maybe it took so long for them to crack it because of the GSM part?

Oh,my God!
My X01HT lost GSM rom ?
I wanted to unlock ExtROM, so tried at@simlock command of mitty.exe like as follows to restore to sim unlock(because my x01ht has already unlocked sim);
at@simlock=0,1,22051978
.......
Reasult, all sim was locked even softbank sim.
After that I can not use phone(device can not recognize sim).
I tried at@simlock=0,1,22051978 etc again, but can not use sim.
I think that 22051978 was old rom's pass, so can not unlock.
Anyone help me ?

Just kind of summarizing some of what's been said before about this new unlocker but I bought it and tested it yesterday and here's what I found:
1. Post Dec 2 device becomes SuperCID and sim-unlocked after running the unlocker--sweet!
2. The big quirk is that the device must have bl 1.09 to be able to overwrite the radio. The new unlocker automatically downgrades the bl to 1.04 at the beginning of the unlock process. So after the unlock you're still in bl 1.04 and in this state you can install any of the rom releases but the radio will be stuck at whatever it was at before you did the unlock (1.14). So to change the radio rom, you have to first "upgrade" the device back to 1.09. Since there's no standalone 1.09 bl upgrader, you have to flash it with a rom release that comes with 1.09 (newest HTC or SB). Now that your device is in 1.09, you can still flash any rom release as you could when it was in 1.04 but now, the radio roms will take as well-yippee!
3. The radio only upgrade (I tried 1.20) did not work for me, even when the device was in 1.09 so if you want to mix/match rom releases with radio roms (say use radio 1.20 with the latest HTC rom (ships with 1.18)), you have to do the following:
step 1 - Run the new imei unlocker and complete the process
step 2 - Flash device with a rom that ships with bl 1.09
step 3 - Flash device with a rom that ships with the radio version you want to use (for example, if I want to use radio rom 1.20, I would flash Dopod rom 1.30 or i-mate rom 1.31). Remember this is not necessarily the rom you want to use, just the rom with the radio you want to use.
step 4 - Downgrade the bootloader back to 1.04. After the downgrade, the device is no longer bl 1.09 and so whatever radio is on it at that point will stick.
step 5 - Flash device with the rom you actually want to use. Disregard its radio version because whatever you had after step 3 is what will stick.
This worked for me and is nice in the sense that if you want the radio rom to stick to a particular version but still want to experiment with different rom releases, this will allow you to do that. The downside is that when you do actually want to change the radio, you have install a bl 1.09 rom again.

You won't see anything you type after entering the radio bootloader, type "rversion" and hit enter... it should output something similar to 0107 or 0118... please report:

I have followed the steps and flashed a rom with bl 1.09, but I cannot connect with PC through Activesync any more in bl1.09 mode...how should do in next step? thx.

Flash the softbank rom, and unlock with imeicheck's unlocker latest version.
Dear Pof
I have already done this process, but device could not recognize usim yet.
I think that my device was protected, because I used at@simlock=1,0,......
If we can find out this pass code(like 22051978), maybe can resolve this problem.
Do you have the other idea ?

I can confirm that this method does work. I used the imei-check unlocker and followed the directions. I now have the HTC 1.35 rom which works MUCHO better than the Dopod rom it came with!! I have also now upgraded my radio from the dreaded 1.14.00.10 to the 1.18!!! It seems to work very well, and I am a happy boy......LOL

Just kind of summarizing some of what's been said before about this new unlocker but I bought it and tested it yesterday and here's what I found:
1. Post Dec 2 device becomes SuperCID and sim-unlocked after running the unlocker--sweet!

great summary. one question about step 4. you meant downgrading to BL 1.04 by "that" extracted radio rom, not running the unlocker again? thanks!

Did what you asked and here's what I got:
Level=0
rversion is 0108
the radio rom I'm using is 1.20.31.10 from the latest i-mate rom.
What's this all mean?
Level=0 means your device is SuperCID. And as it was checked after flashing another ROM, this confirms it is kept after upgrading (unless you run the unlocker twice).
rversion 0108 for radio 1.20 means the radio bootloader of the 1.20 radio has been changed, because this radio version has 0107. That's why the radio has to be flashed in NBH and can't be flashed with MaUpgrade_NoID.exe even if bootloader is 1.04.

qtotter,
this process is not going to work on a pre-dec x01ht because the radio roms don't stick with the older x01ht's. therefore, whatever radio you flashed in step 3 is going to be overwritten with the radio from step 5 using a pre-dec x01ht. the issue is moot anyway since with pre-dec units, you can just flash radio only upgrades.
i used the latest sb rom in step 2. i think the problem you're having in step 3 is caused by your device not being supercid'd by pof's free unlocker (you used imei-check only, right?) so the supercid doesn't stick. if the latest sb rom changed the cid of the device then it makes sense that you couldn't complete step 3. pof, can you confirm?

no they're not the same. with the old x01ht's, once the device is supercid'd, you can upgrade the radio rom freely regardless of the bootloader version. with the post dec unlocked x01ht's, you can only change the radio rom if you are in bl 1.09. according to pof, it has something to do with the radio bootloader changing from 0107 in the old units to 0108 in the new ones.

You have to purchase the unlocker from IMEI Check and they send you the file to put in there. If you have already done that, then you need to find it on your computer and put it in when it asks for it.

Probably you unlocked your device with imei-check unlocker v3c, and this did not make SuperCID sticky, it was lost after flashing a rom. This could be your problem.
And again, please read and understand my comment #2 here... it will clarify you the process. I wrote it assuming that device is always SuperCID.

Hi,
I read through various forum post & guides about upgrading HTC Hermes because I plan to buy one, and this thread seems to be the right place to ask if I understood everything correct.
If I go into to a store are online shop to buy a HTC Hermes, it will be fitted with SPL 1.09 and radio bootloader 0108. To unlock my device I have to go to IMEI-Check to buy their Unlocker (v4b) which makes a sticky CID Unlock on my device. Then I can flash any rom I want (will this allow me to directly load 1.04 and 1.06 roms?)
If I want a specific radio rom, I must flash a ROM with the radio version I want (but must be a SPL 1.09 Rom). Then flash the MFG Bootloader 1.01 which allows me to manually flash os, extrom and splash (so I can use os, splash and extrom from 1.04, 1.06 and 1.09 roms).
Or after having Bootloader 1.01 installed, I can flash Bootloader 1.04 and then flash any other (pre 1.09) rom, which will be flashed to the device (except for it's radio rom, because the radio rom is sticky from the SPL 1.09 rom loaded before). But I assume as soon as I load a complete 1.09 rom radio rom is overwritten, even if I had 1.04 bootloader on the device.
Please let me know, if this I correct so I will not brick my device
Thanks a lot.

you say pre-dec x01 with the new sb rom is the same as post-dec x01.
Right.
i confirm i cannot make my (unlocked) pre-dec x01 with the new sb rom supercid or cannot change the radio even using imei-check unlocker.
One thing is SIM-Unlocked, other thing is CID-Unlocked or SuperCID.
Imei-check M3100v3cUnlock.exe was able to SIM-Unlock and "temporily" CID unlock pre-dec x01ht, but was unable to do it with post-dec. The problem was the HTC_BOOT version found in post-x01ht 1.14 radio.
If you flashed that radio on your X01ht (it doesn't matter before or after unlocking with imeicheck M3100v3cUnlock.exe) your phone is "technically the same" as a post-dec X01ht. So if you want to be able to flash any ROM or Any radio you must unlock it again with M3100v4bUnlock.exe (the new version of imei-check unlocker).
but you say you can make post-dec x01 supercid by the imei-check unlocker.
Yes, new version v4b.
burning the sb rom makes the cid sticky, but the post-dec x01 can be made supercid once? is this what you mean??
No... it is just as plain simple as this:
1. you sim unlocked a x01ht pre-dec unit with v3c
2. you flashed sb 1.33 rom with 1.14 radio on it - the phone stays sim-unlocked, you can use any sim, but it is cid-locked again and with HTC_BOOT 0108.
3. you want to make it SuperCID forever, right? So use M3100v4bUnlock.exe with the same .unl file you got when you purchased the older unlocker. Then follow the procedure explained here to flash radio.
in other words, burning the sb rom makes the radio sticky, but the post-dec x01 with the same radio can be changed??
The radio is not sticky, the radio bootloader (HTC_BOOT) is sticky.
After your device is SuperCID (with imei-check unlocker v4):
- IF your SPL version is 1.04 and you flash a shipped ROM - the radio of your device will be untouched.
- IF your SPL version is 1.09 and you flash a shipped ROM - The radio will be changed to the radio version you flash in this NBH, but the radio bootloader will be always HTC_BOOT 0108
That's it.

As of now, this is only true for SoftBank X01HT devices which are sold SIM-Locked in Japan. Any other hermes variant you buy now (January 2006) will be with radio bootloader 0107, but this might change in the future.
For the rest of your comments you seem to have pretty much understood every problem or drawback you can have :)

1. you sim unlocked a x01ht pre-dec unit with v3c

3 is what i have been saying. even if i use M3100v4bUnlock.exe (the new version), it does not make it sticky-supercid..., and i get invalid cid error when i try to burn another rom (of course, after i revert it to BL 1.09)! i guess making BL to 1.09 by burning a shipped rom reverts the cid?
it's not that i want to make it superid, actually. i am testing the procedure to check if it works.
are there any people who have successfully changed radio on post-dec x01??

and the Hermes stop at the windows mobile screen and can't connect through activesync, in BL mode it still show 1.09 instead of 1.04
now i can unlock it again bcs cant connect with activesync and can't upgrade radio rom only in BL mode, what can i do?
plz help!!! thx
If your BL NOW is 1.09, better upgrade the radio first, after that downgrade BL to 1.04 to flash the HK rom.

Radio 1.27.00.00 is out in NBH format, so you x01ht post Dec-2nd owners don't have to do a full ROM upgrade just to upgrade the radio. Check this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=291827
You need bootloader 1.09 on your x01ht to flash it, and device must be SuperCID.

Hi pof, if my post dec X01HT has BL 1.04 (already unlocked & superCID) , I still need to have full rom upgrade to make it BL 1.09 in order to flash that radio, right?

No, you can flash 1.01 MFG (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_BootloaderMFG) first, then flash 1.09 only, then do the 1.27 radio upgrade.
I attach 1.09 bootloader only here.

Hi,Pof!
Thank you for everything what you had done for ours.
No, you can flash 1.01 MFG first, then flash 1.09 only, then do the 1.27 radio upgrade.
I just want to ask: if I can flash others radiopath(ex. yours V2a radiopath) by this way. My phone is x01ht post Dec-2nd, and unlocked by V1 path and V2a .Exe.
by the way:
I can`t close softbank warranty. Why can Imei-Check`s unlock do it with welcome.exe?

I am sorry. My English is very poor.
My Question is If I can flash anyother Radio by your ways? For example, flash 1.01 MFG first, then flash 1.09 only, then do the v2a radio upgrade.
By the way I want to ask: How to close SB`s UMSI screen-lock? Imei-Check can close it by welcome.exe. How do they do it?

No, now only the 1.27 radio is available in shipped format (NBH file), all other radios have NBF format and need bootloader SPL-1.04 and HTC_BOOT 0107 (radio bootloader version) to be able to flash. Your softbank post Dec-2nd has HTC_BOOT 0108 which makes it impossible to flash radios in NBF format, only NBH, and it doesn't allow downgrading of itself.

I havent gone deep through this, I guess welcome.exe is the file in softbank's rom that pops up the annoying SB USIM soft lock, so they just replace that file probably.... but I might be mistaken, i have never used a softbank rom, nor investigated on the welcome.exe stuff :)

Hi pof! So this radio (NBF, signed version) can be used on post Dec2nd x01ht, which has SPL-1.09 and SuperCID set by imei-check, right? Is this the first NBF radio available?
Any progress with new imei-check unlocker reversing?
