Hi Prislav, are you using this ROM on the Prophet? What are the bugs?

hi guys, i wanna ask is there anyway to adjust registry after extract the rom? I couldnt run the camera in my wm6. Sound and battery is ok but stand-by and camera is not... Any solution ????

You have to install a 3rd party registry editor program. Just do a search in Google and you'll find some free ones.

This is what you need to do:

1) Create a folder anywhere on your hard drive, say "PDAViet"
2) Extract the nk.nba file to the "PDAViet" folder and rename it to nk.nb
3) Extract nb2nbf_wizard.exe (attached) to the "PDAViet" folder
4) Open nb2nbf_wizard.exe. Don't bother changing the Model Id, Language, etc.
5) Just tick the checkbox near File #1 and select File Name nk.nb
6) From the image name list box, select OS
7) Press Translate and once finished you will have a new file called nk.nbf in the "PDAViet" folder
8) This nbf file can then be loaded into your Prophet using the usual RUU Update Utility, i.e.:

a) Extract the attached ROM_Update_Utility.zip in "PDAViet" folder
b) Run ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.exe and follow the onscreen instructions.

That's it! Then you'll have a fully functional WM6 on your Prophet. Don't forget to install a registry editor and remove the folder "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Services/OBEX" to eliminate the Standby error.

If you're a fan of PhonePad I've included it asa cab file in the attached ROM_Update_Utility.zip under folder Extras. Just copy the cab file to anywhere on your PPC and click on it in File Explorer to install it.

Dopod's official 2.15, i.e. not a custom AKU 2 or AKU 3 ROM.

When I was installing orwells WM6 ROM I had your same problem when trying to upgrade from a custom AKU 3 ROM. Then I went down to 2.15 and re-flashed. It worked fine then.

What you did is OK too. You have the Jester 3.3 splash screen because the WM6 ROM does not replace it.

To change the MUI you need to cook your own ROM. Not very straight forward but not impossible :-)

There's a bug with this last version, after you change de OBEX folder in the registry if you disable de recieve all beams option you can no longer activate it thus you can't recieve files over bluetooth from another phone :( Major bug for me.... :(

I thought you wanted to leave it always on and only switched it off by mistake. In that case you would put the registry entry back, switch it on and remove them again.

I maked a ROM WM6 WWE new for prophet, everything working good but it auto restart when i use turnoff button.

DO NOT delete the OBEX key, instead just change the value of the dll (inside the key) to something else (ie xxx.dll.OLD).
That way it's working fine, and you can revert back without any problem.

I'm testing WM6 since today, no (big) problem so far, I'll report a lot more in a few days.

This rom did update successfully, but I have had to resort back to 3.3, even with the reg entry deleted, the phone kept switching off

I think you must downgrade to an aku2.2. See at " ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Prophet/Prophet-roms/Jester/Release/ " and get G3 or G4 version (think twice). Then put the S200 at bootloader (camera+power+soft reset) and then reflash.

From Aku2.2 you can upgrade to others. At least it works for me...

Anybody has noticed if you soft reset when an application is running, you can lost some registry keys regarding to it?
If I have no app running, and soft reset (8 times for now) values of bluetooth, mail, WiFi etc. aren't lost; but if you are editing BT devices at comm mgr (for example) and soft reset, you can lost it. The same if running Messaging and soft reset (Gmail away!).
Anybody else?

File cemail.vol get corrupted, so i cannot create the Gmail account with the same name. The only app I know capable of copying/restoring cemail.vol is Sprite Backup; i suppose Sprite knows how to shut down process that locks the file.
So I've hard reset, install sprite backup, and perform an only-email backup in auto-exe file. I've call it ResetCEMAIL_VOL.exe. If i get corrupted again, i think performing a restore of these file i'll get the pristine copy. When i define the others account (and before getting msgs) ; i perform another backup, you know, ...

Issue 2:Another issue that I have been facing is as follows:
When I installed this OS and used memmaid, it found 3 duplicate notifications. I deleted those. Now these duplicates seem to increase after every reboot. Yesterday, I saw 18, now I have 24 duplicate notifications. For info, the duplicate notifications are for the following events:
\\.\Notifications\NamedEvents\MSPPDUGat.. (cant read the rest.)
Condition: When: The system time changed.

- when the device runs out of battery, it shuts down itself. But when i power it on again, its asks for my password (everything's normal at this point, if you have set a password at boot).

I wouldnt bother unless your really tolerant of computers. the versions out there are chinese translated into english, there buggy, unstable and not meant for mainstream usage. Its best to wait until at least one official rom is released so people can get cooking, but for now its still a pre-release hacked to high heaven.

Recently I'm running on PDAviet ROM and battery status not working properly.

Don't bother trying it. I just did and it doesn't fix the battery problem. It's actually worse than PDAViet cause at one point (well, after a restart or two) not even restarting while connected to usb or main will show you the battery status!

If you still want to try it, don't worry about IPL/SPL it will only update the OS and Radio. IPL and SPL will remain the same.

Here's what I have done: I have a G3 phone and tried to CID unlock it from it's original Qtek 2.09 ROM. It froze so I upgrade to the Qtek 2.20 rom and from there I successfully CID unlocked it. I then upgraded to WM6 (the http://nghianga.4shared.com version). It kept on resetting itself upon pressing the sleep button so I installed the CAB fix (from http://nghianga.4shared.com) and it worked like a charm. I've only had WM6 for 24hrs but to date I have not found any bugs (touch wood). I think this ones a keeper! Hmmm I think you might be right. Just checked my battery status and it shows empty. I installed SPB and the battery status is full. Tried to charge it via usb from my PC (I'm at work and my wall charger is at home) and it does not appear to be charging ... at least the LED charge light is not coming on. I guess it still may be charging but who knows.

Having said that, didn't I read and few hundred pages back that this battery issue resolves itself automatically after a few days use? Needs time to adjust to the battery cycle or something like that ... correct me if I'm wrong.

I had WM6 for 3 days and sadly the charging issue didn't go away. I charges fine on mains or usb until it goes into standby then when it resumes it won't charge and the status bar is wrong until you reset :-( It just got too much for me !!!

I actually think the problem is something that is caused by the fix you installed or the removal of obex in the reg, cuz they are both something to do with coming out of standby mode. Sadly I'm not clever enough to investigate :-)

Hopefully Jesterz will come up trumps with this - his other ROMS I have tried have been great. Infact I always fall back to his 2.2 when I need my phone to be guarenteed stable for a few days :-)

Well I tried 5 times, downgraded from aseg 3.10 to qtek 2.20, after that downloaded nghianga's version wm6 but to no avaial, I always end up with a bootloader screen, even though the update process is succesfull!

Anyone know any solution ?

Thats a hardware issue, not a software one. I had that problem too, but that was after I dropped my S200 for the 11th time. The screen is broken, just get a new one on warranty, sorry mate.

Dude Just Flash with an original shipped rom (Still available on the xda ftp-server). Connect device when in the "three coloured screen" and launch an update with an original rom.
You'll be back on your feet in no time :-)

Hi everyone,
We i just installed the version from nghianga.
And so far so good.
A couple of quick comments.
I was worried when it made it to the 95% mark.. as it sat there for about 1 minute, so dont panic if this happens to you.
The rom does seem faster which i like.
It doesnt seem to have mms, in it.
Sound quality I think is better.
I did have the issue about when it powered off and you turned it back on it would reset. But i just installed this fix and that is now fixed.

The only annoying bit is the battery charging issue. I just did a soft reset to allow me to charge. But worst luck i dont know how far through it is. So this one worries me the most.
In some messages it sounds like this goes away over time. I really hope that is the case. Please let me know if there is anything else i can do to fix this?

I have only installed two bits of software so far.
1. BatteryStatus plug in. (I just love this one), worst luck it doesnt correctly detect my battery tho :-(

Hi everyone,
We i just installed the version from nghianga.
And so far so good.
A couple of quick comments.
I was worried when it made it to the 95% mark.. as it sat there for about 1 minute, so dont panic if this happens to you.
The rom does seem faster which i like.
It doesnt seem to have mms, in it.
Sound quality I think is better.
I did have the issue about when it powered off and you turned it back on it would reset. But i just installed this fix and that is now fixed.

The only annoying bit is the battery charging issue. I just did a soft reset to allow me to charge. But worst luck i dont know how far through it is. So this one worries me the most.
In some messages it sounds like this goes away over time. I really hope that is the case. Please let me know if there is anything else i can do to fix this?

I have only installed two bits of software so far.
1. BatteryStatus plug in. (I just love this one), worst luck it doesnt correctly detect my battery tho :-(

You need to use BOTH !! look carfully, one is part.5, other is part.5(1), wich means it's not the same file ! Download all of them into the same folder, then open any of them, it will extract all parts into ONE ! :)

Hi again,
Well after using wm6 now for about 5 hours or so and i still like it.

But the battery charging issue and status of batter is very annoying.
Does anyone have a fix that works for that??

I saw there is a rom by someone else available at rapidshare, and someone said this version has the battery problem fixed.
But when i compress it it gives me a file called nk.nba . Can anyone tell what to do with this file to allow me to flash it?
I tried searching the formus but they are slow and I havent found the result yet??

I found the answer to my open question.
Back on page 27. Thanks to "kta" for his exact information on what to do with the nba file.
I must say this other rom is a big improvement so far.
So thank you to who ever designed it :-)

It seems to have just about everything fixed in it. I had to do the batter fix and also add the phone pad but of course "kta" mentioned how to do that as well.

So far I am loving it. Will see how i go after a few days.

1- i confirmed... i have noticed that bug... but for me is indiferent!!
2- some roms of wm6 doesnt 'play' that system sound... and again is indiferent for me.

Anyone had any luck with the bluetooth stack and getting it to voice dial from the headset. I can answer calls on the headset but cannot initiate voice command.
Any ideas? Also the audio doesn't come out the bt headset in media player.

The headline says it all.
I'm having a G4 and tried to upgrade from Jesters 2.20.
For that I downloaded. The 2007 Rom from previous page and the G4 upgrading tool.
Upgrade seems to run very fast up to 100%.
After automatic Reboot i stuck in Bootloader.
No problem but I want to upgrade and not playin arround flashing.
Sorry. Dos anybody else have the same Problem?

The rom Looks nice but there is alot of useless stuff in from Microsoft. I'd rahter you kept the systems ounds and dumped some micrposft useless progs. Also the cert.cab not cooked.
But so far So good. Am now installing third party progs, lets see what happens :-)

I can see that I am not the only one who his having the same problem. I have tried to UnlockCID but I cannot get an ActiveSync connection to the PC to unlock and trying to flash back original shipped ROMS only tells me that I cannot, therefore I am kinda stuck, literally stuck in Bootloader! With all my years of participation in these forums and through 3 devices, over 5 years I have never bricked a device apparently until the call of WM6 lured me on like bait on a hook...

Can anyone help a brutha out? I have:

IPL: 2.09
SPL: 2.20 - G3
Upgraded from the likes of above poster...

i've downloades your os.nb file. Should i only put them to one of the ASergs or LVSW Rom with "upgrade_Rom.bat" inside and replace the existing os.nb file?

So for So good, I installed BatteryStatus, SPB Posketplus, Resco Explorer, SOTI, and restored SMS and synchronized contacts, all is running smoothly. Not tried pairing any bluetooth device to see if profiles are saved.

i also had this message and find out that this was caused by sygate firewall. do you have a firewall on? if yes turn your firewall off and connect the device to your pc again

Revert back to an original rom 2.20 and then try updating again.

As for the PDAviet: Its the other WM& version but the update method is via NB file.
@John-Wu you already asked me if you should put it in aserg or lswv upgrade files, so what I did was put it in PDAviet. Basically replacing the os.nb that was in the downloaded WM6 upgrade.

It works nearly perfect.
Loading speed ect verry good.
Only some systemsound are missing. No prob at all.

Then install nghianga WM6 ROM.. the Pockjet when reset back to USB mode lines color.

I just installed the ROM called "NB Update nghianga". This one overcame the problem of being stuck in bootloader. Now my S200 is loaded with WM6. That's cool but ActiveSync doesn't accept my exchange server settings.
I am getting an error "Support code: 80072f06". Something about the server name being wrong when in fact it is not.
Anybody else having problems synching?
