WM6/Crossbow Prophet Info

Hi,

To stop all the questions/threads/shouting for links.

NO WM6/Crossbow stuff on the XDA FTP server, it will be removed as per M$ legal departments request.

To stop the gossip:

1. Yes, the ROM in doing "the round" with some prophet ROM maker(s) ;)
2. No, I will not (yet) upload a WM6/Crossbow ROM on the FTP server
3. Yes, I will release a proper(ish) WM6 Crossbow ROM in English for the prophet at some point in time.

A general warning, there are versions out there that will brick your phone if you don't know what you are doing.
If you want to "risk it" fine, but don't come crying when it goes wrong.
Better wait for a proper "prophet wm6 beta release" coming soon ;)

I can confirm you can go back to another ROM and it doesn't "mess up" or lock your radio ROM (using the orwell version)

Ok got it working now, on a G4 CID-LOCKED!! Prophet I used the CopyToFFS methode instead of the Update-NoId tool! Damn it's hot!! got some problems with sound but I think Jester will fix this all for us! good night all!

2,7,8 are problems that have been solved with other roms ported from wizard. (So I believe that there won't be a problem here)
4,6 are no big deal to fix (there is a hidden camera shortcut in the windows folder)

So the severe problems are 1,3,5.
Is the charging problem the same as the aku 3.x you where working on?
Could it be easier to fix than the 3.x?

1 6: I had solved in Chinese Version WM6. Just change dll driver.and copy file(The camera needs almost 58 files)
3 4: It's not important
2 7 8: They are same problem. The keyboard driver wrong.I have no idea now.
I think the related drivers are hidparse.dll kbdhid.dll keybddr.dll.
5: It's the big trouble. I think the related drivers are battdrvr.dll usbfn.dll. I changed battdrvr.dll using 818PRO's driver.The battery status is ok. But charging still need soft reset.

I didn't do it. I think the people at pdamobiz did it. It must be a registry setting

Mine gets stuck in bootloader after ok installation. The Chinese version installs ok, and is working snappy. Unfortunatly I do not speak (or read) chinese so that version is not so good for me. I am awaiting Jesterz version. Until then I have to go with the standard Qtek ROM. :-(

You need to use ROMUpdateUtility_NoID for the prophet, i.e. not the one included in orwell1984.rar. I extracted one from Jester's exe.

The origin rom is dumped from a chinese 838. It's a chinese version.
But I think it's easy to change language using mui.
Many guys in our forum changed language from English to Chinese using mui.

as you have an usb connection you can just reflash any rom I'm not sure though if the older ones work because i dont know which aku that uses but just take a 2.3 rom and if that doesn't work take a 3.3 rom...

Also there was a problem with the sound. Only the Chinese rom gave sound. This version also showed the battery light, connected through usb but didn't load my device at all!

Your best shot would be to ask Jester himself :-) He's on the forum quite frequently. When he's finalised the ROM I'm sure he'll inform us immediately.

Yes, my prophet softreset coming out of sleep... i have the ultimate version (r7 wm6)..
For me, nothing solution, for now.

How did you solve the reset bug if you press the standby button? I have solved sound and battery now, but when I push the standby button on the right side of my prophet it resets..

It seemed that the battery needs time to fit WM6.
It will shut down or reboot,but seems after 3days later. The proble will disappear.
Another way, change a battery, a 838's battery will work very well.
I think the WM6 need more power.

The wavedev.dll should be ok. It signed by HTC. The battdrv signed by myself.
Camera is ok and fine.I upgrade several dlls, it will be better than QTEK rom.
The landscape ,and the hard button are same problem. Keyboard driver incorrect.
You need change keybddr hidparse kbdhid drivers. Those also signed by me.
You can research my registy and export the public key.

Take the chinese version and inject a mui (which certainly doesn't exist for WM6 100% compatibility)

Take the Orwell version and inject riverzhou's dlls...

Would someone be kind enough to pack all signed dlls and registry changes into a cab file ? Thanks ^^

FLASH QTEK WWE 220 RUU first.
And plug usb cab at normal state.
Upgrade the ROM with bat tool.(myos.rar) 刷ROM运行这个.BAT
when it finish, hard reboot phone.

About the Stanby WM6 bug are you 100% sure it's the battery of the prophet that's the problem, because when I have my Prophet at the charger it still resets if I push the standby button.

I have ordered a Wizard 1500mAh battery so I hope that solves my last problem with WM6 then.

You will be ok after using the 1500mAh battery.
Many guys in pdafans tested it.

But there are still several small bug.

To stop all the questions/threads/shouting for links.

NO WM6/Crossbow stuff on the XDA FTP server, it will be removed as per M$ legal departments request.

To stop the gossip:

1. Yes, the ROM in doing "the round" with some prophet ROM maker(s) ;)
2. No, I will not (yet) upload a WM6/Crossbow ROM on the FTP server
3. Yes, I will release a proper(ish) WM6 Crossbow ROM in English for the prophet at some point in time.

A general warning, there are versions out there that will brick your phone if you don't know what you are doing.
If you want to "risk it" fine, but don't come crying when it goes wrong.
Better wait for a proper "prophet wm6 beta release" coming soon ;)

You can export your whole registry (= backup)
Much better now, if you know all of the keys you modified, you can export only them. I guess you can also do that by backing up your whole registry, then hard reset and backing up original registry. Then compare them with a tool and keep only the differences.

I dumped wwe orwells rom
i extracted (english) mui, ddl.mui, wince.nls, and i changed the reg values 0804 0409 in files (.rgu), i changed the initflashfiles.dat and inserted these files in chinese rom and cooked new rom.
I not changed files (.dsm).
Prophet stuck second splash :(

It seemed that the battery needs time to fit WM6.
It will shut down or reboot,but seems after 3days later. The proble will disappear.

I am using Radio 2.30.It seems can reduce power usage.
And I suggest close IR by using comm manager.
It can take power usage down to normal.
The RC7 is not perfect but it's usable.

That's because your Prophet is a G4 prophet and probably CID-Locked.. use the MyOS.rar file somewhere up this thread to use WM6 on your prophet..

noone seems to have mentioned it but, obviously in the 'orwell' auto installation of the extended rom files dont happen. is this still the case in the more recent roms. i did notice this on a wm5 rom

That's not a problem with the rom, you have to buy a wizard battery, or a battery with something like 1500mAh that solves it, or, and this may sound strange.. wait about 3 days your battery will adjust itself to WM6

WORKS!! just tried it out and got the 'customization begin in 3 seconds' box after flashing the rom!

It's the time that I dump it from a 838 CHS WM6 ROM.
Modify nb or nba file will not change timemark.

3. use widocmm bt driver
4. this is "clear" rom, you'll have to install extrom manually

thanks, have moved back to another ver now though! lol. using the orwell rom modified so got quite a good ver going now. have intergrated a couple of things, like phone pad, wireless today plugin, removed all the wifi stuff (dont have prophet, im on a charmer) and put in a extended rom. landscape issue is back though and since i wasnt sure how i fixed it in the first place, i'm not sure now! will look into that again though. next step is now camera!

You have to replace the following files to fix the screenrotate bug:
hidparse.dll
kbdhid.dll
keybddr.dll

Copy them from the chinese prophet rom and the screenrotation bug will be solved!

ta for the solution! though one of those dlls will mess up my button mapping. turns the calendar and contacts buttons into start and ok buttons, which are then not remappable in the buttons cpl. need ones from a charmer and then figure out how to sign them!

Ok sorry thought you had a prophet, yes then you get the files from a charmer, maybe the files from WM5 work too.. try to get the files from a AKU 3.3 rom or so..

Just installed this room by myself and got the following problems:

1. camera and comm manager/record buttons don't work (shortcut problem?)
2. device.exe crashes often
3. none of the input methods works - all I get is a white area

will have to test to see if there are more problems...

Ihave used all the vershion floating around on the net related to wm6 and i can tell you wwewm6 vershion is shite,the best one at the moment is probly rc7wm6 and or the wizzard one v5.20something if only people would use rc7 as a start and work on the bugs while messing with all the other shite floating around i have flashed my damm m600 so manytimes now and brought it back from the dead with all the damm shite wm6 floating around take my advice stick to rc7 trust me things can only get better once people start fixing the bugs in it and finnaly translate it to english.

Ihave used all the vershion floating around on the net related to wm6 and i can tell you wwewm6 vershion is shite,the best one at the moment is probly rc7wm6 and or the wizzard one v5.20something if only people would use rc7 as a start and work on the bugs while messing with all the other shite floating around i have flashed my damm m600 so manytimes now and brought it back from the dead with all the damm shite wm6 floating around take my advice stick to rc7 trust me things can only get better once people start fixing the bugs in it and finnaly translate it to english.

You will do better, then пизди :cool: WM6WWE is done on the basis of RC7. We could not lay out, but we are not avid )))

Just installed this room by myself and got the following problems:

1. camera and comm manager/record buttons don't work (shortcut problem?)
2. device.exe crashes often
3. none of the input methods works - all I get is a white area

will have to test to see if there are more problems...

The wavedev.dll should be ok. It signed by HTC. The battdrv signed by myself.
Camera is ok and fine.I upgrade several dlls, it will be better than QTEK rom.
The landscape ,and the hard button are same problem. Keyboard driver incorrect.
You need change keybddr hidparse kbdhid drivers. Those also signed by me.
You can research my registy and export the public key.

argh! im sooo close. got my new drivers i wanna sign already, can extract the cer file from other files already signed by you but cant sign anything cos i dont have the pvk file or have any clue where to get it!! :(

To get the keyboards working in the wwe6 english version, cook the rom using the msim.dll, msim.96.dll and transciber files from an aku3.3 rom and it works a treat!

2) the camera button does not work - for some reason the camera.lnk is not created in \windows\appbuttons

You need to use a program called r2sd. This is a command line program that your run from a DOS prompt. If you extract to SD make sure you extract the OS only as most people would not use your IPL/SPL.

The program can be found on this forum. If you don't find it I'll have a look for it later on today and post it.

Just don't forget you have to have your phone CID-unlocked first... Or you can't extract the rom from it I think

I have a question.. I'm going to buy a qtek s200. Will that mean that it will be a G4, and will it be able to use sdhc cards now that it looks like wm6 supports them? .. Using padfans forum 818pro wm6 one (my 818 is G3), all drivers placed and work perfect. Installed iLaunch v3 , Mapking, Resco explorer without any problems, the main problem is u use the original battery and when u press the power button to switch off the display, the device might totally power off. This issue can be solved by 3rd party battery.

Could anyone running WM6 check if :

1- it supports native A2DP Stereo, with "good sound quality", no sound drops, etc.

2- it supports SD-HC cards

3- it has the same memory management than WM5. To do that :
Soft reset, wait for the system to be completely loaded.

Check available memory.
Now launch an app, and check memory left.
Close (completely) that app and check memory left.
Re-open that same app and check again the memory.

Do the same with 2 or 3 applications, to ensure correct results.

Please post results !!
